I think Jon will tame the ice dragon.

    This wight Dragon...

1). Unlike the necromancy preformed in Hardhome, the Night King physically touched the dragon to bring him back from the dead. The last time we saw the Night King touch someone, it was the baby. What that means or what that touch did, nobody knows. I've always assumed the baby would become a white walker, as oppose to a wight. I'm curious to what Viserion's nature is now, whether or not he'll retain any intelligence (white walker) or if he's an undead slave (wight). If he's a wight, can't he decay? Going to be hard to fly. Then again, I'm probably overthinking this as far as the show's concerned.

NOTE: Fin D- I would agree if Rhaegal was killed instead of Viserion. I think Rhaegal is Jon's dragon no matter what.

2). Will this Viserion breath ice or fire? I imagine it would still breath fire since the ice wall has to come down so the undead army can invade. However... outside of dragon fire burning the ice wall, breathing ice would feel more inline with the Night King character. And it would be kind of awesome to see what kind of damage an Ice Dragon can inflict.

3). Remember when Bran saw a vision of a dragon's shadow flying over the red keep? And in Dany's vision in the house of the undying, she's walking through the throne room and it's ice cold? I wonder if those two visions are connected. It would be cool to see the Night King slowly march south, turning Westeros into a frozen wasteland until the heroes unite to make one final stand.

Thematically it makes the most sense for Viserion to "betray" Dany, since her brother was the most antagonistic towards her out of the dragon's namesakes.

    Yeah....but Ice dragon....Jon Snow...fire...ice...

    Orrrrrrrrrrrr..........

Something happens to Rhaegal and he becomes part ice and part fire....then he'd be perfect for Snow....which would mean another Stark would have to tame Viserion......

Would be sweet if Bran could warg Viserion. Right now, it looks like the Night King can break Bran's warg connections as we saw with the Ravens.

Interesting theory I saw posted elsewhere regarding Jon not getting on the Drogon and seemingly being foolhardy. Apparently in the books it's mentioned that no rider ever rode two different dragons. If Jon is destined to mount Rhaegal as some have speculated then he may have instinctively been reluctant to mount Drogon.

Well that was satisfying. What the hell us Jamie going to do? Is he on his own? Was Cersei right about what she said about the Greyjoy fleet?

She likely was not lying about Euron and the fleet going to Essos. As for Jaimie, seems he might be going alone. Cersei is the queen, and she is not currently about going North.

I was both good with the episode, but also not, I suppose mainly because it didn't fit some of my notions of what I thought might happen. I was a little miffed that the only "big" death was Baelish, who we all saw coming. And while satisfying, I am not sure how some of the scenes that lead to it ... actually lead to it. Like, he wasn't there for the Sansa/Arya face off, so what the hell was that about?

I was also really hoping for Cerseri to die. It's like she is too big to die at this point, which infuriates me because she is just the worst (though played amazingly by Lena). Like, I would much rather have removed her from the board and focused on the Night King. What's the play here with not only keeping her, but making her still such a giant adversary and *******? I thought maybe for a second they would go for the redemption arc, but they killed that quickly. And with the pregnancy? Ugh, I see no good way to end her now.

If GRRM and Benioff/Weiss really want to piss people off in the books or show, let her live and stay on the throne. Wayne Brady gonna have to cut a ***** if that happens.

So does Theon discover Cersei's plan to snub the pact when he arrives to rescue his sister but Euron is nowhere in sight?

This was my thought as well. They could also find out from Jaime. Once he gets north w/o his army, I'm sure they'll figure it out. Unless of course he doesn't get North for some reason.

Agreed. When I heard people theorizing that it was all a ploy, I thought it was ridiculous because no one of importance was around to witness and entrap... He's not Vary's who knows everything and anything (or used to). He's a schemer... Basically, just ****ty misdirect for the fans. And really, it was all very drawn out unnecessarily. W/Bran, who apparently had off-screen conversations with Arya and Sansa, they could of just skipped the arc and gone straight to "trial." Really, most of the plot this season (including, "Let's capture a wight, to prove to Cersei, who we all know gives no ****s, that the Night King is real") was all useless and convoluted.

Agreed. I love Cersei. She's a phenomenal antagonist. One we have sympathized, empathized, and even rooted for, despite knowing what she truly is. Arguably the most three dimensional character on the show. As much as I like her character, I just don't see what role she serves going forward. And when characters no longer serve the story, they die (or they used to). I see her role being similar to Tywin. Great character, great antagonist (for different reasons), but he had to go die in order to progress the story and destabilize the realm. With the stakes now raised in the north with the Night King marching, Cersei and the government of Westeros feels meaningless. She said it herself, they're ****ed if the North wins and ****ed if they lose. So what is the point of the Iron Throne and all these so called Kings and Queens? I'm not saying there isn't any... I just don't see it, beyond "I can't wait to see Cersei get what's coming to her!" that hypes up season 8. This season should of concluded the stories of Jaime and Cersei, if the plot is going down that road.

    Quick Thoughts About the Finale

    - Ice Dragon: Awesome! It's already starting to decay though, the wings already have holes in them...
    - Night King: What was his plan to get beyond the wall if that Dragon hadn't shown up?
    - Raven: Anyone notice the line about how Raven's take longer to travel in bad weather? lol.
    - Jon/Aegon: In the books, Rhaegar's first son was named Aegon and the daughter Rhaeneys. I thought the show mentioned this as well, no? Or did they never mention Rhaegar's previous children by name?
    - Tyrion: All solemn when he saw Jon going to hook up with Dany. Did I miss something?
    - Winterfell: Thank God it's over...
    - Jaime/Cersei: Jaime finally recognizing that something is wrong with this crazy *****... Although I have no idea what Cersei or King's landing is going to do next season, I would love Jaime v. Cersei...
    - Reunions: I'm still enjoying them. Hound and Brienne bonding over their murder baby, Arya was cool. Hound and Mountain was interesting. Cleganebowl?! I want it.
Qyburn: I love how he grabs the hand and tries to study it. What a creepster.

Jon being Aegon is odd because Aegon was an infant when Kings Landing was sacked, killed by the Mountain along with his older sister Rhaenys. So it sounds like Rhaegar had 2 boys and named them both Aegon, or someone got their wires crossed.

Theon feeds into the whole "nature v nurture" thing going on. Jon's whole point in that conversation was that you don't need Stark blood to be a Stark and live up to those ideals, etc. Theon knew the right thing to do, he just had to choose to do it.

Similarly, Jon is Ned Stark's son. It doesn't matter who his real father is. It's why I don't think he'll care that he's a Targareyn (other than it really makes his relationship with his girlfriend super weird). I'm of the firm belief that he'd far prefer to be made an official Stark and just live in peace in Winterfell but obviously fate has eliminated that option

Also, I bet Dany is pregnant, which will complicate things even further as neither will be able to simply walk away, even if they want to

Qyburn's reaction was the best thing all season haha. "Oh ****, cool! New toy!" The Hound/Brienne moment was also a plus.

The Tyrion thing was really weird yeah. Like, whatchu creeping outside the door of the sex room for dude? Is he jealous, or just concerned, and if the latter, why? Is he up to something? It was just weird.

Night King could have just had his giants rip off the gates maybe. Slower, but effective. Also the possibility of the Horn of Winter being used if needed. That storyline seemed to get tossed for the expediency and coolness of dragon.

Was very grumpy at lack of Cleganebowl myself.

And yeah, Jamie/Cersei plotline is now really strange. I thought for a second they were really going to whack him - and they should have. A total lack of real surprises this season, very disappointing. And Cersei continues to just confound me. How the **** did she blow up the Sept and not have a revolution? Why did Jaimie not act then? Why did she suddenly turn into a genius at "the game" after being arguably the worst player of all with a lucky streak that she should have taken to Vegas? I don't know where her arc is going, but I just wish it had cleaned up. The pregnancy is the worst. I hope she is faking it, but I doubt it. If they let her live, or if she dies in some stupid *** way like childbirth ... ugh.

I'm guessing Tyrion made a deal with Cersei to bring her back to the table. Otherwise i don't understand why he's creeping. Cersei was great this episode, she played Tyrion like a fiddle using his guilt over the deaths of Myrcella and Tommen.

I think Cersei is NOT pregnant. I think she is using her "pregnancy" as a way to manipulate Jaime. Then I think she knew she could use it manipulate Tyrion. Tyrion does truly feel bad for the death of 2 of 3 niece/nephews. I bet Tyrion struck a deal with Cersei out of guilt and Jon wet docking the nubmarine with Dany severely complicates that.

She played literally everyone though, which cost her Jaimie. That will bite her in the ***. I also hate the idea of her as being a "good player" because in the books and through most of the TV show, she was absolutely godawful at it. Like, so so bad. Unlike Sansa, she is an adult and unlikely to suddenly start learning at a master's level, especially when the bail out people (Tywin, the Uncle, even Tyrion) are gone.

Before last episode I was very much on the fence. I am less sure after that Jaimie scene. Why push him so hard unless she really did something (one) else to think of.

Her scheming erased many of her enemies and put her on the throne. People that you guys say bailed her out, actually got in her way or usurped her.

She basically ****ed up everything until Tyrion, then Tywin fixed it for her. When they were removed, she again ****ed things up until the Uncle (**** I can't think of his name) stepped in and fixed it. She basically bankrupted the **** out of the crown and created enemies left and right. In the book, it was heavily implied her allowing the Sparrows to reform was a time bomb. The show all of a sudden, at the end of last season, allowed to her erase all that and suddenly seem like a super genius. It was a complete 180.

I guess I have to question what criteria you guys are using to judge how a good player a given character is.

If Cersei is terrible at playing the game, then Tywinn, Tyrion, the Tyrells, the Baratheons, the Sparrows, are worse.

It's about far more than just not being dead though. Cersei has basically rolled a non stop set of natural 20's for awhile now. Her thing was always that she thought she was the best, but it was almost entirely luck or others. The whole Red Wedding for instance was Tywin. It was Tyrion's plans that saved them in King's Landing. Cersei is the one that basically started the war, bankrupted their family, gave the sparrows their power (in the books, they are not dead), allowed the Tyrells to entrench themselves as the people's champions, etc.

For instance, in the show as is now ... why are the people not in open rebellion after she killed the High Septon and Queen Margary whom they both loved? Plot armor and blind luck. She is just a vicious and cruel woman who keeps lucking out due to plot convenience and being played by an actress they don't want to let go of.

Yes and no... The debt the crown owes isn't on her though. That was Robert spending like a mad man. Ned even commented that the mad king left the treasury flowing w/gold and Robert beggared the realm.

The thing about Cersei though, She had to work around people in power and that was more or less her biggest problem. Her schemes to remove them is what got her in trouble. Whether it was Tyrion, Joffery, Tommen, Margery, etc... Using your example, she only allowed the sparrows to arm themselves again because 1. They agreed to take that as payment for the debt the crown owed. 2). She could use them in a scheme to remove Margery from the equation. Short sighted and mistaken? Absolutely. Bad move. But that move wouldn't have been necessary if she wasn't trying to work around Margery. Now that she's the ultimate authority, she can play the game with freedom and so far, she's the one making the better moves. Her biggest flaw is still apparent though, her personality. She's still petty, spiteful, and overly emotional. And she's becoming paranoid as hell. All season, she's been talking about betrayal in one form or another. Finally, she accuses Jaime of treason, promoting their enemies interest when he met with Tyrion. He had no idea about that meeting until it took place and he told her right away... Yet, she throws it in his face that he conspired against her. That's going to be her downfall, pushing away real allies for sell swords.

As for Tyrion... I read a theory that makes sense. Right before speaking to Cersei, Tyrion tells Jon that he should of lied to manipulate the situation for the benefit of Westeros because they're all ****ed if they don't unite. All season, Dany has been ignoring Tyrion. And rightfully so... (He went from smartest character on the show to always being wrong. Most of the "smart" characters have turned into idiots and/or useless w/o Martin's source material (Tyrion, Littlefinger, Vary's, etc...). Because Dany has been ignoring his advice, he may feel like he has to work around her (kinda like Cersei). When Tyrion figures out Cersei is "pregnant," they're in the middle of a conversation about Tyrion not wanting to destroy his family... Which dany has accused him of that all season, which WAS random at the time, there was no justification for it then. Now? There may be something to it...

Tyrion might have made a deal w/Cersei behind Dany's back. While he has seemingly believed in Dany and her crusade to break the wheel, he has been shown to doubt some her decisions, like killing the Tarly's. And his conversation with Vary's supports the idea that perhaps his faith in her is weakening. He even tells Cersei that despite Dany's impulsive attitude, she chose a hand to check her worst impulses. Basically, he believes in himself more than Dany? I'm not sure what kind of arrangement he could of made w/Cersei. It does seem strange that he would completely turn his back on Dany, especially for Cersei. He knows she's mentally unstable, spiteful, hateful, and wants him dead... Always has. So I don't think he's switching sides. It doesn't make sense. But if that final short is an indication of guilt, he must of sold someone out pretty bad. Perhaps Jon... Somehow the deal was to remove him from the equation, which is what Cersei wanted in the first place before Jon shot her down. Only, he's not getting Cersei's army and may have weakened Dany's position in the process.

I just hope we don't get a, "Tyrion is in love w/Dany" story. I would ****ing hate it w/a passion.

I'm not just talking about being alive or dead. I am talking about playing the game to get what they want. If you took the criteria you're applying to Cersei and applied it to Tyrion, he too would be terrible. He is considered one of the smartest people on the show and political move after political move has backfired in his face.

Without a doubt Show Cersei is more effective than Book Cersei. But that also may be because we haven't gotten to the point in the books where she starts winning.
