No interest from me. Not my style at all. I do wish that someone would make an awesome, huge, RPG set in Middle Earth though.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2017/04/20/everybodys-golf-coming-to-ps4-on-august-29/ The newest Hot Shots Golf, now titles Everybody's Golf, will come to the PS4 in the US on August 29th. My wife and I really enjoyed playing the previous title on the PS3 a lot, and did so for a long time. Its a good blend of cartoony graphics, silly fun, and yet deep and challenging gameplay with lots of things to unlock. I'm absolutely getting it, and will likely introduce my older daughter, who turns six that week, to it as her first PS4 game.
http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2017/04/cities_skylines_will_build_foundations_on_ps4_soon_it_seems I've been interested in Cities: Skylines since it came out, but it was a PC only title, and my experience and failure with Civ 6 proved that it was a good idea to stick console only with my old laptop and poor internet connection. However, the game is now out on the XBOX and will be coming to the PS4. When it does, I might check it out.
I remember playing Hot Shots Golf on the original Playstation. First golf game I ever got into, and I've been wondering if there would be one for the PS4. Now, if I could just get a Phantasy Star Online game on the PS4 here in the USA, along with an NFL2K football game (never gonna happen I know) then I'd have to declare the PS4 my favorite console of all time. Actually, with Shenmue III on the way for the PS4, it moves up to spot #3 behind the Sega Dreamcast and the original Xbox even without PSO or an NFL2K.
https://gamerant.com/ps4-sales-60-million-2016-2017/ Sony has now shipped over 60 million PS4s, which is actually keeping pace with the amazing success of the PS2 in its day. They expect to ship 18m more this year. I would say that those people who keep predicting the demise of console gaming are going to have to keep waiting, lol.
I wouldn't. Take a look at how software sales aren't keeping pace. There's a core of high-revenue AAA games, then a giant yawning chasm, and then low price games and independent stuff. This isn't sustainable and it's one reason why publishers are taking the PC and mobile more seriously.
There are a core of tens of millions of people who want to continue gaming on consoles. As long as they keep selling them, we'll keep buying them for decades.
Yes, there are. But if there aren't any games to do the gaming on the gaming console, they will go to other formats. And they are.
https://gamerant.com/nfl-owners-sponsoring-overwatch-league/ In an unexpected blending of different sections of the site, the Dolphins are buying an ESports team. I don't understand how all of that works, but I thought that Id share it.
I have less than zero interest, but the coverage of it on gaming websites has exploded in the last year or so. I wish there was a way to filter it all out.
The best, but most complicated, way is to get your news through RSS feeds and then just filter out anything tagged eSports.
