Seahawks are stacking up picks. They traded away that #31 pick they got from Atlanta to the 49ers. So basically Seahawks gave up pick #26 for 4 picks: #34 (2nd round), #95 (3rd round), #111 (4th round) and #249 (7th round). Not bad really.. I think Seattle came out on top with that trade.
If they wanted harris that's further indication that they probably contacted Miami about a trade and at the very least offered them the same deal as seattle if not more. I would have taken that trade in a heartbeat. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
People keep saying he is not good against the run... Had Cam Wake ever been some stud against the run? Hell no. But he sure crushes a lot of QBs and creates FFs not to mention collapsing and disrupting the pocket. On top of that. You're presuming a young rookie won't improve at all from now on... Against the run or otherwise. Phins don't need haters, their own fans got that on lock.
Then say that but a lot of you guys always question other fans. There isn't a contest of who's the biggest homer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's not being able to see the forest from the trees. Some teams haven't had a super bowl win, some teams haven't even had a super bowl appearance, some teams have had losing seasons in x consecutive amount of years, some teams don't even have a semblance of a quarterback, etc. etc. I just don't sympathize with the "woe is us" attitude, especially right now. If being a fan of a football team is THAT TOUGH, then I don't know what to say.
Who cares? I haven't been alive for anything significant. Maybe you saw the 72,73 Dolphins and/or Marino but I haven't. Yet when I complain I'm not a real fan. How many people here are fans BECAUSE of the SB teams or Marino? Probably an overwhelming majority. So don't question peoples' fandom. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's not just fandom though, it's the complete short-sightedness of complaining excessively about a DRAFT PICK. I'm not questioning people's fandom, just maturity. It's a losing battle though, every year it's just a bunch of reactionary posts that don't mean jack and **** a couple years down the road. I just don't think barely ever giving your team the benefit of the doubt is dumb coming off a 10-6 season with turds all over the damn roster. Believe me, I was critical of Grier and Tannenbaum when we were 1-4 last season, but they and the coaching staff righted the ship and earned goodwill from me when they started cutting Ireland and Hickey failures. It's clearly a new regime and new direction, so why not at least be cautiously optimistic?
Dude, whatever. Just cut it out. Don't tell others to root for another team when you don't know how much of a fan they are or what they've been able to enjoy. Some of us haven't experienced success with the Fins and only care about witnessing a SB win some day. Anything short of that is another wasted season. And if we disagree on the route to achieve that goal, so be it, but you don't hold the high ground. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Like I said. The title reads "Dolphins turned down two trade offers to remain at No. 22" but the content was deleted.
Slimmm guy over at FH. CK just gave him the highest praise I've ever seen CK give someone. So it's not just some schmuck
If you are going to do nothing but complain about how bad of a drafting team we are then like a diffrent team, clearly you know the team drafts bad and have been for years and seeing how other teams are better then us at drafting will continuw to do so, why stick around with a team that does nothing but makes you complain over and over?
I am not a bandwagon fan don't be an a hole. Don't know about you but I have been a dolphins fan since I was a 10 year old boy. You don't just stop being a fan of a team you have so many memories about both good and bad even if its mostly bad. You probably wouldn't understand that. And I am pretty much like that with every sport eventhough football is my favorite once I like a team I don't just jump to another team because they piss me off or start losing. If we are talking about Slimm, lets also mention that he LOVED our draft (besides Harris of course). He thinks that Mcmillian was a "home run pick".
Also if you are going to come in spitting fire and hate about a pick that hasnt even touched the field, you deserve to get reamed.
You turned ten in November last year? Congrats! Just kidding. But seriously, I am a bandwagon fan. I definitely stop being a fan whenever the Dolphins don't do what I want. Which is most times. I am in a phase of being a fan right now. That could change with mini-camp, or the wrong fan-day giveaway item.
I've looked at Harris enough..and this is all based on being our first round pick..I tried to love the pick but couldn't get there. He's just to one dimeensional at this point, so your banking on projection, banking on his lack of production in the run defense Coming down to his Inexperience at the position. As far as what he does well, get off and spin move..that get off is what got him paid..a lot you can work with when you can get a jump on your opponent, I'm sure Wake will teach him as well as he can..Spin move is overused at this point but he'll learn to set his opponent up better and be more efficient with it. Im sure they know he's a player that needs to be trained on being a def end not just a pass rusher, otherwise he'll become a liability if he doesn't spend time learning the nuances of run defense at the position..his instincts are poor against the run plain and simple, poor angles, lack of instincts and misreads are prominent in his reps. The spin move and get off is how he wins to the qb..but I'm hoping that he becomes much more balanced in his game to become a full time player.. I would of went with Zach and Smoot back to back and hit the very same positions as what Harris and Kwon provide, I just feel like Zach and Smoot will be a bit better. That being said, I really really like Kwon, very deserving of our 2nd pick, and I think with Harris's work ethic and character he will get better improving the value of the pick as we go. They are our players now, tru bloods, so I will always look for the positives because of their love for the game..
I have said I liked the McMillan, Tankersely, Asiata and Taylor picks. What I didn't like was the harris pick instead of trading down for more picks wich we could have, and I also didn't like the Godchaux and Ford picks when there were other better players available. Overall I would give the draft a C+ or B- grade. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
Criticizing the Harris pick because he's weak on run defense is like panning the Asiata pick because he can't stretch the field. Ok, a little hyperbole, but not much. We live in an era of specialists. There really is no such thing as a "starting defensive line," as there are a number of situational packages employed. Bottom line, you need not sweat drafting a pass-rushing talent because he needs work on his run game.
But there are criticisms of his pass rushing talent too. So if you question his pass rushing talent, and his run defense is clearly lacking, you find the pick lackluster.
jmo, when it comes to your first round pick the ability to do as many things well is important as to who gets picked..Jabril Peppers would be a good example..slot guy, safety, elite full time returner.
he seems like a mentally tough, very determined young man, and an experienced one relative to the others..I hope what I see, or don't see, is that inexperience..
