Well, hell Rick, Frerotte was better then Fiedler, and one of those #2's is on the bubble at the moment.

I will say Pennington is the best Qb we have had in a loooong time, but the lights haven't come on and the game didn't count..

I don't know that Frerotte was better than Fiedler. He had a stronger arm, but that's about it.

Pennington proved how good he was the last nine years. He's not a star, but he's an above average NFL starting QB.

 

I'm able to see the game on TV as all the Jags games are carried in Savannah.

First let me say Penny looks very good and he had two really nice throws to teddy and each went for about 20 yards. Ginn has looked very good all first half. Bess on the very first play of the game caused a penilty-not good very next play another Miami penilty. After that we started to settle down and Penny started to look very good. (Better than Favre in my opinion-am watching that too).

We have had soom very sloppy play on ST as Cobb caused us a 15 yarder then two plays later Crowder got a 15 yarder with a hit to the QBs head.

Ricky is running good, Ronnie not so much. Jake is showing signs but has a ways to go. Runs to the right side are still better and Jake got burned on one play being to quick.

Henne looked like a rook on his first at bat but came back and looked more settled. Lousy play calling at the end of the first half if you ask me. Henne got us inside the 30 and then all Saparno called was runs???? Don't understand.

Don't think Beck will play the second half as he is standing away from everyone else and looks very dejected. The other 3 QBs are always in a group.

I understand why they're keeping the first team O line in, but I also find it a bit unsettling too.

 

just my own opinion; the only reason Pennington hasn't been a "star" is because he hasn't been able to stay healthy. When he's played, the Jets have been successful. Had he been able to play more I think his name would have been brought up more. I mean the guy has been the most accurate passer.

 

Henne loves to go down the field. That's for sure.

 

from what I saw of him at Michigan... he absolutely loves it. Especially if he has guys that can catch the ball deep. Hopefully we get to watch him tossing the old pigskin deep to ginn alot in the future!

 

Well, staying healthy is part of being a star, really.

 

Yeah our depth is deplorable, isn't it? On the other hand, it gives the starters that much more live game time with each other. ....should help them to gel.

 

Sometimes all a team needs is confidence to go from bad to good in a short period of time. Tonight I see a confident bunch.
