The guy lead the SEC with 125 tackles in 13 games last season. I think he knows how to tackle just fine. He has very long arms and tends to rely on them to wrap and take guys down but he gets the job done. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
Then why is it something that needs to be corrected? the only knocks on him such as too much arm tackling and biting on play action are things that can be easily corrected with a little more coaching.
just for record I don't see anyone else but me and the hitman this convicted about Cunningham....kid is going to be a great football player and we could only be so lucky if he's there at 22...if he blows up the combine which I think he's going to then I don't think we'll have a chance which is a far cry from what I'm hearing on this site and in the media...
Fair enough, but all I keep hearing is jarrad davis or Charles Harris or NJoku, or Derek Barnett.. this first round is all about this kid, he is the Mike we've been dreaming about since the other Zach left us.. it's all right there to see and folks are totally sleeping on him..we'll really be lucky to get him
After watching tape on Cunningham I think we'll be lucky if he falls to us, the tackling thing I don't think is an issue, and a lot more has been made over it than it deserves, there isn't an issue with him missing tackles, and he is a wrap up tackler, it does look different, but it's effective. I think he can be a special player, he reminds me of a smaller JT, he plays with great leverage, aggressive, athletic, heads up, instinctive playmaker, I have him around even with Foster as the best LBs in the draft, just mo.
I'm waiting to see how they test. I think Cunningham is going to test well, not sure about some of the other top LB's but the guy I am really interested in is Connor Harris. Can't find film from Lindenwood but if he is as athletic as his coach says I am extremely interested in this kid. The all-time, all college, leading tackler in the history of the world. If he runs something like a 4.62 at the combine I will then be ready to give him a shot at being the next Zach Thomas. He is heavier than Zach but just 5'11" like Zach.
Yeah, Harris is an interesting prospect, I'm hoping there is some more game film on him, I only found one when I was looking a week or so ago. Along with all his tackles, he had 6 INTs, 14 PDs, 3FFs and 5 FRs, but heres the kicker, lol, pun definitely intended; 35 punts @ 37.3 per, with 7 inside the 20 and also 12 for 12 on PATs, wtf... Also carried the ball 50 times for 328 yds and 7 TDs @ 6.8 ypc. With all this, his coach says the most impressive thing about him is his leadership. He was a star QB and S in HS, a ball hawking S. So yeah, I find this guy very intriguing.
Seems that is the plan we are heading to. Maybe not one for one, but with limited picks and with maybe $65m to spend after more cuts, miami should key in on players up for contract 2, which means they are in their mid 20s. And I will add this, you dont cut your starting lt or lg without an aggressive plan. I feel confident Miami wont wait for the draft to address the OL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well we now have TE filled. So, I would say in order Berry, Cambell and Zach Brown. Obviously we resign Stills and go ahead and wrap up Landry for next year. Find a couple guards and a better backup to Pouncey and we can use the draft to snag whoever the best at any position. We might have less picks but that fills all our holes. I'd like to snag Terrel Pryor as well he's a beast.
I just watched the video on Cunningham. Am I missing something? Seemed kinda average to me. http://www.draftcountdown.com/player/zach-cunningham/
You're definitely missing something if you're using his tape against South Carolina to form your opinion. If you want to see Cunningham exposed watch vs. Tennessee 2016 and vs. Georgia Tech 2015.
I guess if you are looking for big hits he wont impress you much, but if you are looking for LB that can consistently get through traffic, shed blocks and make tackles near or behind the line of scrimmage then he is very impressive. Add to that the fact that he has the speed, size and length to cover tight ends and the skills to play any linebacker position on every down then I would say yes he is very impressive and he will only get better with time. So I was watching Pryor workout on NFLN. Obviously a jack of all trades. I know not a target here, but could solve some issues we could have if Stills is gone and RT takes longer to rehab. The hierarchy is prob Guard, DE/LB and Corner. Easier said than done. I saw a few mocks that had no guards going in round one. Ill re read them but that would be too much of a gamble for Miami, not addressing in FA. I am also waiting for three more cuts, Jordan, Misi and Jenkins. Let's say $60m to spend. Personally, I think we need to spend it but we spend on the building blocks, second contract/mid 20 year old guards or LBs that are obvious upgrades with little injury history. If Miami wants to make a splash on the side, well nothing will stop that. Let's face it, 4 picks and hopefully 2 addtl picks in the 3rd and 4th is not a year to say they will find 3-4 starters in the draft, hope I am wrong Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would get the best Guard available. Then I would get the second best Guard available. And if the third best Guard available could play C also, I'd get him too. Don't think we can pay Campbell or Ingram. I would dream of watching Brady cry when we got Berry. Maybe LB Perry from GB if they don't resign him.
we will have $55M+ to spend. with signing bonus and the backloading of guaranteed money, that's a ton of money to spend this offseason, including Stills and Landry
Count me as a big fan. I had him mocked to us in my last effort. He brings speed...technique can be cleaned up. But when you watch him on tape, he gets "there" in a hurry.
I wouldn't draft anyone in the top two rounds expecting them to be Sam as we'll be in nickel like 70% of the time.
Zach can play all three linebacker positions. He is a three down lb. He is well worth a first round pick let alone a second. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
This was never a real scenario, no way we were going to have the 2 highest paid Ss in the league, that was never going to happen.
yeah, Ingram, Bell, Brown, Poe, Berry, they are all falling like dominoes. Fans wanted a fantasy free agency, but teams knew this move was going to happen.
