I'm actually playing mostly Civ 4 now, as I wait for FF15 to be released. I tried to get back into Madden, but just don't have the drive for it at the moment, and after playing every pitch of about 180 games in MLB The Show, I've put it up for the time being. My wife and I do typically play a few missions on Lego Jurrasic World most Saturdays though, so I think that we probably will tomorrow.

Ubisoft has no drive to create a modern day story, in part because most people prefer the historical simulation. But the writing has descended into banality, so I find the historical aspects less intriguing. Ubisoft has also said they have a definitive ending for the series in mind if they ever need to do it, so there is clearly some plan or plot that they can pull off a shelf and put into a game. They just refuse to do it.

The game itself is fine, but, some of these decisions are clearly not made with the objective of making the highest quality game possible.

Beat Syndicate. The season pass is half off right now, so I picked it up. Slowly playing through The Last Maharaja and Jack the Ripper.

There's SOME story at the end of the main game, but it's more of a "tune in next time" teaser than actual plot development. Nothing really happens. And it looks like the story is going to continue in a comic book that looks to be the Assassin Teen Titans. And it looks like the modern day storyline is being developed in comics instead of the games. We finally found out what Erudito is, for instance.

So I'm going to say the modern day story is pretty much a way to sell supplementary material and that they will never actually finish it.

Pokemon Moon. I must say, I'm liking what they're doing with it. Just finished my second trial earlier today, and it was a SNITCH to beat.

With AC Syndicate done, I've started The Division. So far, it's about the same as it was in the beta. I find it unfocused and unbalanced—there is no real narrative direction, so it descends into yet another Ubisoft open world game. There's enough interesting things to keep me engaged, but I don't see the purpose.

I'll probably delay progress indefinitely when Final Fantasy XV is released Tuesday.

Still slowly working through The Witcher 3 and mixing in some Darksiders 2. It's been while since I have posted here. How has everyone been?

Good, man! Fins are 7-4 for the first time since 2003, the Cubs won the World Series, and FF15 comes out tomorrow.

Final Fantasy XV: Version 1.02 Download Final Boss Edition.

I've got him down to half health after 50 minutes of combat.

I miss Steam and my gaming PC already.

Been replaying the Ezio trilogy. Beat II and Brotherhood, now on Revelations. II does not age well. Brotherhood has, however.

Balancing Final Fantasy XV with ArmA 3 and The Division.

The Division: just hit level 14, pursuing the medical missions for now.
FFXV: just unlocked the Duscae region and I'm doing sidequests.
ArmA 3: my unit has its last mission on Sunday, then it's on break for the rest of the year.

Beat Revelations and moved on to Recore. Fantastic game. Would probably one of my favorite games of year if it weren't for the dreadful load times.

Started playing Batman Arkham Knight...haven't played these before but got it and season pass for 15.00. Having fun so far wish it was a little more Batman and a little less Batmobile though.

I will add you, when I'm not playing my single-player games, I almost exclusively play Rocket League. It's my unwinding game. A lot of people have FPSes, I have Rocket League. My PSN ID is killer-vanilla, I'll add you next time I'm on.

Me too, played the beta! Not enough people play defense online unfortunately. It's just like hockey or soccer where you cycle forward and back. So many people just going for the glory and then getting scored on immediately afterwards. I'm pretty competent/good at the game but I struggle on the wall and I'm not the most accurate shot. I'll play the hell out of some defense/goalie though.

Nice I enjoy epic saves more than aerial goals....always gotta rotate if a teammate is down the field you gotta cycle back to goal. We would get along fine lol

Master of Orion: Conquer the Stars.

I watched some early let's plays and I was very disappointed. However, the developers have continued to give a lot of free updates to improve the game. They finally added the Antares.

I am on my third playthrough and I am really enjoying this game. Other than the combat, everything brings up the fun I had with MoO and MoO II during highschool.

After more than 100 hours, spread over six weeks, I'm about finished with FFXV for now. Booted up Madden for the first time in a few months, and started a new franchise last night. I'll likely mostly play that for a while until Horizon: Zero Dawn comes out at the end of February.

Picked up Doom during the Steam Winter Sale. It's amazing, I highly recommend it. Movement is very fluid and exploring for secrets gives me Metroid Prime vibes. Killing demons on Mars has never felt so good.

It does a great job of capturing the feel of the original Doom and Doom 2. Hell, it even has secret levels in stages that unlock the memorable doom 1 and 2 levels in game, albeit using the weapons and monsters from the new game. It does cranks it past 10, especially with glory kills and using the chainsaw to cut through Cacodemons and Barons of Hell

I'll second how fun doom is. Picked it up as an alternate to GTA V online and I love how cathartic the game feels. Not like work, or with a lot of micromanaging. Just ruuning around blasting demons in cool environments. Therapeutic. Also, I find the minimal story refreshing. I don't like cut scenes or heavy handed narratives.

I honestly haven't played a game of that type since then. The PC games were cool back when the SNES was the best console on the market, and as a teenager, the over the top violence was funny, but since the Playstation became my system, I haven't been into anything like it.

I've set Final Fantasy XV aside until the DLC starts being released.

For now, I'm playing Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS. There are some moderate enhancements from the PS2 version, and overall, each version has advantages over the other. But it's a blast to play through and is my favorite game in the series.

Waiting on Ghost Recon: Wildlands to Drop. I was a fan of Division despite all the griping. I have a really good group of friends that played it. Messing around with Fallout some more and finished up FFXV and Arkham Knight. I thought about getting on the Resident Evil but I don't know if I have the time for it. I realy enjoyed Titanfall 2 as well.
