I think shooting 100% and being the lead scorer had very much to do with the majority of his points were layups off of Fastbreak.

As I said, It was VERY good to see Dwayde back.

    D-Wade FTW!

I heard that some cyclists had to apologize for wearing masks in China because of the air pollution? WTF why make them apologize for pretty much stating the obvious? How the hell is an athelete supposed to train there if the air is filthy?

Holy ****!!!! Did anyone just get as jacked up about that Swimming Relay as I did? As out of my chair yelling at the TV! At 11:30PM at nigh!

Unbelieveably awesome. Showed the French who's boss after they talked trash...Simply awesome!

Now Phelps still has a shot at 8 Gold Medals.

French men's swim team surrenders to USA

Anyone just catch the men's relay? After all the garbage the French men's swim team spewed about beating our men's swim team in the relay; they puked in the end. If you missed it; you missed a great relay.
France led after the first leg and it really looked like they were going to win. Our anchor pulled ahead right at the end for the win.

    hey rdstlr23 - you're faster than me.
great, great race....especially after they promised to "smash" us.

*also*...is it just me or does Cris Collinsworth look like he's had some plastic surgery???

    UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

How about the guy who swam the last leg? The fastest in the history of the sport!!!! Crazy!

I'm still jacked up. It's gonna take me another hour to get to bed. I'm going to be worthless at work for the next week or so, with the Olympics. I love them!

I mean we crushed the WR. Crazy, crazy race. One of the more exciting things I've ever watched. I got about as emotional as I did when Strug stuck the landing to win the gold. Awesome!

    Late,

It was tough watching Katie Hoff lose it at the end of the Freestyle earlier. I thought she had it in the bag.

Is the coverage from 12PM-2AM live? If so, I'm gonna say F it and stay up and watch it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's all going to be live. And yeah that was too bad with Hoff...so close. It looked like she was going to do it. Still that Aussie woman was stroking.
We've been watching all of the swimming. My 12 yr old girl swims on a team.
Like you I'm still smiling over the men's win.
One of the most incredible competitive finishes I've ever seen.
And really satisfying after all the trash talk coming from the French. I know in general the French don't really care for us. My wife went to Ireland earlier this year and met some people from France who were just down right rude to her and her friends because they're from the USA. In fact, my wife was p****d off later because one of them stole her cigarettes.

during the 100 year war between the french and the british, the french captured a british officer and asked him why the officers like to wear "red coats", it made them stand out and became perfect targets.
the british officer told them that if they were shot the blood would blend with the coat and the men wouldn't become frightened.
":yes:the french have worn brown pants ever since."

USA in the Olympics is like Italy in soccer and Yankees in baseball

You either cheer for the team to win or for it to lose

I have been cheering for USA basketball and for Phelps and whenever I mention this to someone they all say how can you cheer for the States

Lots of people still don't like you guys winning all these events so often

I like Americans. My favourite sport to folow is the NFL so I'm with you guys on most events but don't think for a second that 90% of the world is cheering for you guys to do something bad or have a scandal come out of this

Now get on with this and catch the Chinese for most golds. You are losing this 9-3:wink2:

The point was that they turned up to the airport wearing masks which was disrespectful to the Chinese seeing as though they'd just stepped from the plane and hadn't actually been outside once.

And as for how an athlete is supposed to train there if the air is filthy.......China leads the medal table.

Boom, dont you think the games are skewed to favor the host country? The Mens Volleyball tourny for example was a complete farce. China qualified 5th but was seeded first due to the "Homer Rule"...

They do that? That's terrible. The host country's athletes already have an advantage of sorts just for being at home.
