Lemon needs to watch this clip...... Anderson running for a 1st down, not even a td, what an effort!

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGkA-l_0mCQ&feature=related[/ame]

Also, listen to the commentator, at 1.20 he says the 33 yard run was the longest by a browns player all season, and that was in week 12! They NEED Mcfadden!

I know we dont need Mcfadden, but we do need a QB, And it wont be Beck starting, he will be number 2 maybe with green at number 3. Lemon will be gone.

also, this is fromt he document here.... not my whole view

We could really use Anderson. He's only 24 years old and he's 6'6" 235 lbs. He emerged this year as a fine player. You could even say,"franhise Quarterback." Parcells need to work out a great trade. We give them Lemon and next years conditional 3. How would that be?

Where are the options for Chris Long and Glenn Dorsey? Forget Anderson, he's not worth the first overall pick! McFadden is but we have glaring holes much much bigger than at rb. Besides, quality running backs are always available in the later rounds...always!

He's hardly a franchise QB. Still, even as he stands, they'll want a lot more than the worst starting QB in the NFL and a measely 3rd round pick.

All I know is that a Miami QB has not thrown for 28 TDs in a very long timein a season. Anderson wont be surrounded by all the talent he has in Cleveland and what about if he is a one year wonder. This could be a make you or break you trade.

Say what you will folks but I am damn sure willing to find out what it would take to get Anderson.

    # 1 overall hell no. Won't happen. Kiss that idea goodbye.

Browns are in a pickle though.

Might move him for our #32.

    I wouldn't be shocked.

He also benefits from the Browns OL being a very good pass blocking group. Anderson can run once he gets going, but he is not a really mobile athletic type of QB. He needs a line that can pass block.

Derek Anderson is not worth the #1 overall pick. I doubt he is worth first rounder to be honest. I'd rather re-sign Cleo and keep the #1 than trade it for Anderson.

    In the draft war room
Anderson's QB rating is 82.7. He has thrown 18 interceptions this year. I hardly think that justifies giving up the first overall pick for him!

The number one overall is a complete pipe dream for Cleveland. They'd have to package Anderson and a ton of picks or players to make that move. No way in hell would we do that deal. Now a later pick? I don't know its a tough call, he's played good this year and has potential to get even better and really its not like he only had 3 or 4 games like Feely or the other idiots we traded or signed. Hes not injured like Culpepper, might be a tempting idea to trade for him.

I have already said, it will take Anderson, Winslow or Edwards, and their 2nd round pick to get #1 overall.

I would give them the the #1 overall if they part w/ all of that.

I wouldn't do it if I were them, but thats what it will take

Make it happen. I'd take him for the #32nd overall.

I wouldn't. One of my best friends is a Brownie and thus I've seen all of Anderson's games this year. The kid's a younger version of Gus Frerotte. He's got a huge arm and poise, but his accuracy is way off, he can't read defenses (if he gets pressured, it gets ugly - see the Cincy game) and he's gonna cost you games because he forces way too many throws. Plus, you can't really run screens or short outs with him because he either overthrows his guys on these routes or he fires a 400 mph bullet that sooner kills his receiver than makes him catch it.

To make a long story short: The kid's no franchise guy. He'd fit in nicely with a Mike Martz type of offense where he has a couple of bigplay receivers and gets to throw 30+ times a game, but he'll struggle in just about any other system because he's lacking too many fundamentals.

Miami won't trade for Anderson and it won't be drafting McFadden.

I have to admit that I see the tendencies you speak of with Anderson too. Thing is this is basically a rookie season for him being his first year starting and all. He has made big strides from what we saw out of him last year. Personally I think Anderson has all the right things to be a future franchise QB in this league. Is it too early to tell? Maybe. I just see his progress already and Anderson is very young. If you can somehow get in the mix and get him for a song it would be a good move to make. A lot of if's though. Will we do it. Hard tellin'.

Believe me I know everyones fear over trading for another QB. Mine included!

I really don't see us drafting the #1 overall... It just doesn't make sense for this team to do so right now... What we need is quantity and/or bodies that are a part of trading down.

I think CLEVELAND is in a good spot to do do just that with us. If we could get Anderson, their #1, #3 and a #2 next year, I'd say make the deal. We need a QB and the chances of finding 1 in the draft that can start, or Beck being ready to start next year are slim. There aren't really any other QB FAs out there that would be better than Anderson right now.

    Just my thoughts though...

Cheers Boom. Didn't you recently claim that Miami wouldn't fire Cameron either? Just kidding. I don't see us pursuing Anderson or McFadden either - though you have to wonder what to make of our QB situation. Green is done, Lemon is likely gone and Beck hasn't exactly shown that he's a lock to start next season. Which begs the question: What's Parcells gonna do? I can't imagine he's betting his first season on a 2nd year QB who might or might not be a franchise guy. I can't imagine him overdrafting Ryan or Brohm either. And I don't see any quality guys available via FA. If the Tuna isn't bringing Bledsoe back (;)), I'd say there's a big chance we'll only have one QB on our roster come March.

With the problem being that they don't have a #1 this year. And I don't see them giving up their #2 and #3 in 2008 and their #1 in 2009 (which would be a pretty fair bargain for both sides) to be picking at #1 and betting their salary cap on a single player. For them, it makes a lot more sense to do a trade with Atlanta and pick up either Long or Dorsey or any other d-liner for their 3-4 and save a lot of money.

Damn... How did I miss that?:confused2: Well if that is the case, then I would agree with you on their (CLE) better approach.

We shouldn't go after either one of them. Rb is not one of our needs. We should draft a qb if beck is not the man. I am at the point that I think Beck still needs time.

I SECOND that notion! The Defense is worst than the Offense. The first two picks should be defense, then in the later rounds we can look for a QB.
