No QB should have to suffer from the organizational incompetence displayed today. Love him or hate him he deserves better than this crap.
I agree. Ross is letting $96 million be smashed into the ground. Let $500,000 Moore take the beating.
Dallas Thomas should be cut tomorrow. I don't care, a random practice squad guy we can poach would be an improvement.
If Philbin were here Ryan would be in danger of being cut...cant have emotion on a good choir boy football team like this one. And remember, no elbows on the table.
We saw some true anger from Ryan today. Like we've never seen. Yelling at the O-Line throughout the game. A positive step in his leadership growth.
I disagree. I think it was more the potty mouth language Philbin was more concerned with. I'm sure he'd allow you to show some degree of emotion (albeit less than that of a fire hydrant).
I disagree. Leadership has to translate to play on the field. Tannehill doesn't raise the level of play of his surrounding cast, whatever their abilities are. The Giants game was better in this regard.
What if maybe Tannehill was holding back his emotions back because he has been contemplating murdering his whole entire offensive line on live television?
I disagree, leadership isn't always the best player/person. Leadership is many things. Going out and taking a beating, when you're oline sucks, and never throwing then under the bus is leadership. Not throwing your coaches under the bus, even when you disagree, is leadership. Just a couple examples. You can have all the talent in the world, but not be a leader.
Oh my...Tannehill and leader should not be in the same sentence unless the word "NOT" is between them.
Please poor Moore in. Either he lights it up, and puts the argument to rest, or he sucks, and everyone might realize how absolute **** the entire team actually is.
The OL is bad, but they'd look better (including on the stat sheet.. with pressures etc..) if you had a QB that was good at scrambling. As people around here often say, it's a team game, and every stat is influenced by multiple players at different positions. Same goes for OL with respect to QB play.
If Fran Tarkenton had a love child with Randall Cunningham and you gene spliced that child with Michael Vick and you then grafted Russel Wilson's head onto that body the resulting QB would still get slaughtered behind our O-Line.
Just where the **** was he going to scramble to? Half the time he got hit before he could even finish his dropback. FFS.
He is an average QB getting big money behind a bad OL in a god awful pass happy scheme on a terribly coached team
Really? You don't think a very good scrambling QB would lead to fewer QB pressures and sacks? If that's how you really think, then I have nothing to add. It should be obvious a better scrambling QB would make the OL look better.
We have no idea how good or bad Tannehill is because the offensive line is SO BAD. End of story. I like the fire though. I was going to recommend he visit with Steve Young during the offseason and start working on how to get in people's faces. Then I realized that freaking Marino is right there. Take notes, young man!
Take a look at some of these posts, especially Pauly's. It seems hyperbolic and comedic but it's what some believe. It's why some believe Wilson wouldn't dramatically improve this team.
Why is the argument that we need a QB with elite running skills, so that he can function behind this abortion of an oline, instead of just agreeing that we should get some average oline players that can give our QB a bit of time to throw? I don't understand.
Yes. Seems like Pouncey is done for the year. So yes. At least have him alive and functioning for next year.
NE has a worse line then us and their QB seems to be OK. Getting rid of the ball fast or not taking a sack when you have time to throw it away can make an OL look good.
The Pats line is the best in the league at holding and getting away it it. We have guys on the line that can't even initiate contact before getting beat. 2 of our OL have no business being on a roster and 2 of them have no business starting but that is what we are rolling out. The OL we put in front of Tannehill this coming Sunday will be the worse in the league by a country mile.
Tannehill is the same age as Stafford, he is at the peak of his development and if you cant admit his play after 4 years has been average then i feel sorry for you, Bortles and Carr are both already more advanced at a much younger age. Yes the OL does him no favors but his ability of QB play doesnt do the OL any favors either, he rarely makes any plays off of broken pockets and broken coverages and he seemingly never takes advantage of a defenses weaklinks. And the Pass Happy playcalling sure as **** never does an OL any favors, always makong the OL play on their heels, the only time an OL favors from a Pass Happy scheme is if you have a top tier QB but that is not something we have. The playcalling does him no favors and his offseason hype machine did the OCs no favors (especially this year) as he has now gotten two Pass Happy scheme OCs fired. He didnt succeed in the West Coast offense with Sherman and then couldnt succeed in the Chip Kelly/Spread offense, two offenses that rely on QBs and win through passing the ball and he could not due to poor OL and RT17's overpaid contract and the overhype of RT17 himself, I would like if we switched to a power run scheme with RT17 now because we have learned our offense isnt that good when we are throwing almosr every play. Lazor probably had to throw the ball a ton considering they paid RT17 to be the focal point but he will never be a top 10 QB that can sling it like that. At the end of the day, no, its not RT17's fault he got overpaid for being nothing more then a marginal QB but I hope the FO learns he isnt a guy that you can play your offense through and they fix this. Its really frustrating watching these inconsistent offenses and the only time we seemingly won this year was when we were getting Lamar the ball. Our coaches and front office seem clueless so there is bigger fish to fry then RT17 right now but he is not the Real Deal, he is an Alex Smith style QB but our coaches feel like he is Aaron Rodgers, which is absurd. Please Miami, fix this, you cant be this stupid, can you?
Comparing Stafford and Tannehill is not only not fair but his team aint doing so good either. Don't you think Lions' fans are complaining about his lack of winning? How much have they invested in him... for nothing too. He has Megatron to throw to... who is Tannehill's Megatron? How do the OLs compare? Do they run the ball more than 10 times a game? Is their D ranked next to last in the league? Comparing rotten apples to rotted oranges.
