I don't know if it's old, but there was a sweet feature on Michael Lehan on FSN about half an hour ago. It was a segment called "it's all good" highlighting athletes with hardship stories. Apparently Lehan was separated from his family at a young age and was taken in by another family. He worked with what he was given and against all odds made it to the NFL. Now he appears to be mentoring kids who are in situations similar to his. Great story.
he's been my favorite player in the second half of the year, he will be our number one corner next year
i think that Will Allen is better then him but Lehan is a really good CB and i also think that we will also bring in Marcus trufant who would be our #1 CB but he has been our Best CB the second half of the season
He has had his moments this year and will at least add quality depth for next year, if he dosn't start.
I would get Rid of him and try and get Marcus Trufant and if we have even more Room at coner Pick up Randall Gay then we would have a good secondary
Don't jump the gun. Lehan has been good at times but we will be in a real bad spot again next year if he's our number one cb. Will Allen is better and even he shouldn't be a number one cb. Lehan definately has improved drastically from last year but he's still better suited as a nickel and/or dime cb.
I like Lehan as our 3rd CB behind Allen and either Trufant or Asomugha (preferably Asomugha). I think I heard about his story as well and it's pretty good to hear he's in the NFL today. Goodman should be our 5th CB, behind Daniels even.
i hope we nab a corner back in or before round 3 to be allens replacement. then add a top notch FA and we are in great shape.
The thought of signing one of the upper echelon free agent corners scares me. Trufant and Ashomugha are going to require similar contracts to Nate Claments. Between signing the #1 draft pick and signing a top cornerback, im not sure how much cap space we would have left to fill up other holes. I say draft best cornerback available with the #32 pick.
i think ashomugha would cost as much as claments but i dont think Trufant will and i think Claments is way overpays anyways
we need to get a true #1 somehow. A dream scenario for me is trading down and getting mike jenkins from s. fla and a LB in the 1st round
Clements is definitely overpaid but he was the top free agent corner available last year at one of the top skilled positions. Just look at how much the guards were getting last year at that should give you an idea of how much of a premium is put on the better free agents these days.
Mike Jenkins is at the top of my wishlist for pick #32. A lot of mocks have him being selected around that area but i am certain his stock will rise after the combine.
i would have to agree. its very close between him and malcom. hopefully teams fall in love with the corners from bigger schools and select Malcom and Talib before Mike. its a LONG shot though. *sorry, getting a bit off topic.
i know it sounds crazy mel, but i have studied the kid, its been an amazing transformation, ever since the giant game our secondary has been the most consistent group on the field, i'am not saying he's a stud i'am just sayin that he's better then travis,he's better than andre, and imo he's better then will and he's younger and improving, he's explosive on the blitz,he closes quickly. yall think i'am crazy, maybe, maybe not.
he was'nt involved in any of those touchdowns to moss and he was partly responsible in keeping moss with a few catches for 50 yards.he's done it all second half.
A couple of things to consider: 1. The pass rush has been anemic throughout the entire season. 2. Most of our DBs are young and lacking experience. If we can get some guys back from injury (like Bell) and can improve on our pass rush we may not need to break the bank on an overpriced FA DB.
Back to the topic: I saw the Lehan piece a couple of times over the weekend. It talks about his rough childhood, how he wound up in a foster home, and is now using his status as an NFL player to go back and provide a positive example for other foster kids. It really makes you want to see him stick and succeed with the Dolphins.
