its week one. obviously tannehill was a bit to adrenalized and kept sailing his passes. thats about as bad as you're going to see him and we still won. relax. if he's throwing like that in week 5 then there's a problem.

I love how people totally dismiss the other team.

Maybe they are better than we think? Maybe they didn't want to get blown out?

IMO.. no, Skins weren't that good either. This "win that feels almost like a loss" is due mostly to the Dolphins not playing to their potential IMO.

Anyway, they have time to get their act together and they can do it without the recriminations that would follow had they lost the game. So I'm fine with this. I'll sing a different tune if this crap persists though.

Tannehill was horrible today. He should have had 2 INT's. Almost any other team and we would have been destroyed today.

Even as off as he was, they were 14 pts higher in rating, and a full yard YPA higher, compared to week 1 last year against NE. It wasn't good, no, but it wasn't all bad either, he just had a bad day. In past years his off days were multiple turnovers and bad ratings/losses...I don't expect it to become a trend.

This is why I rarely post here anymore. When you complain about the QB's performance you get ripped by the blind homers.

I accept your argument that they didn't want to get blown out. I don't accept your statement that they are better than we think they are. I will be absolutely shocked if the Redskins win more than 4 games this season. They just aren't a good team and that will be shown over the next 15 games, IMO.

22/34 (64%) for 226 and a TD. Like somebody said earlier, if that's a bad day, then I'm not concerned. A win is a win and I don't care how much they win by. You would think we lost by 30 by reading this forum.

Some of his throws were off target. Some of them were beautiful.

He wasn't good, but he wasn't bad, all things considered. He was okay, IMO.

    That's a sign of a good team.

To be fair to CiF, those throws were pretty questionable, and had those interceptions happened, I WOULD have said he had a bad day. He (RT17) just needs to calm down a bit, IMO.

I did think he had a bad day. Regardless of the missed interceptions, there were too many missed throws/bad decisions.

Both near picks, the miss to Sims in the EZ, the -6 yd pass to Landry inside the ten, the missed throw to Stills on the sideline, and the deep crosser to Landry where he completely whiffed the throw.

Now it wasn't all bad by any means, but it wasn't good enough. And if this is as bad as his bad games gets this season, then we should be ok.

This wasn't one of his better games and he was lucky he didn't suffer two interceptions. Yet he started slowly last season and his game picked up as the year went along. The reality is that the first string offense really didn't get much play together in the preseason and Tannehill and his receivers, (other than Landry) still need to work on their timing.

If Tannehill is still playing at the level he did today after a month, that is when I will be concerned. Until then, I will just look at this game as a win and hope the play of the entire team continues to show improvement from week to week.

Right now I am more concerned with the play of the OL, LB's, and the secondary, (other than Grimes and Jones), than I am about the play of Tannehill. The DL played okay today, but I expect better production from this unit then we saw today. This unit needs to improve its production going forward if this team expects to improve on its 8-8 record over the past two seasons. Because the LB's and secondary just aren't good enough to get the job done if they don't have a dominate DL in front of them.

LOL...who cares how poorly he plays as long as his QB rating is good.

    Yes, he played poorly.

    Missed Sims on easy TD.
Missed Stills wide open at 5 yard line with a good chance of TD if ball thrown in play.
Lost fumble when in FG range (OL didn't do their job, but QB needs to take care of ball). Overall, the OL did a decent job giving Tannehill time to throw. Not every play, but overall they did their job.
Poor red zone decision-making throwing to Landry at the 10 with a Redskin right in front of him when they were at the 3 yard line. Followed that with a delay of game.
Missed a wide open Landry followed by batted ball with about 5 minutes left that kept Miami from moving the ball and possibly running out the clock and/or putting points on the board to, in effect, putting the game out of reach.
Very lucky the Redskins dropped several easy interceptions today, including pick six. Also, had a chance for several more. There is a reason the Redskins were 4-12 last year.
Continues to the throw well short of 1st down marker on 3rd downs. Looks good on QB rating, but SUCKS for offense. Rarely looks for WRs that are beyond the 1st down marker.
Was inaccurate on a lot of short throws. Even on completions WRs had to turn their body rather than being led (Tannehill actually looked really sharp in preseason with these types of throws, not so sharp today).

Positive...he made a couple of good medium throws down the right hash mark. That really seems to be his highlight reel throws...medium on the hash-mark when he is on target.

This game was won b/c or our defense and Landry returning a punt for a TD...and most importantly, we were playing the Redskins.

This level of play by Tannehill the rest of the season would probably result in 4-12 record for Miami. Miami won this game despite Tannehill, not because of him.

Much more concerned about defense than offense at this point. Alfred Morris gashed them.

there were four throws that could have been intercepted. two came from batted passes, one on a receiver screen and another that a linebacker had dropped. Tannehill had a bad game overall, we're lucky it's the redskins

We won the game...Ryan was average likely at best. But thats ok, Juice and the 2nd half D had his back. Next weeks game will be one we need a good performance out of Ryan.

Difference in this game? Other players/units picked it up so that it wasn't all on Tannehill.

I've said MULTIPLE TIMES in this thread and others that he had a bad game...but that doesn't fit your everyone's-a-blind-homer agenda...

That will not be his level of play for the season...he's proven that already. He also made a lot of great throws and clutch conversions. I don't mind bashing the bad at all, just gets old when the good is ignored.

I never said, nor would I, that RT won this game. It was a TEAM win, with Jarvis having a massive impact. Yet you give the defense credit for the win...how many yards did they give up on the ground again? THAT was even more lucky that it was the Redskins.
