I like Reynolds. Been a fan since he was on Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place in the 90s. Thought he did a great job as Wade in the first Wolverine movie, and I'm excited to see Deadpool.

I am excited for this movie. I never thought there would be a Deadpool movie that actually did Deadpool correctly.

That remains to be seen. Skepticism with anything involving Ryan Reynolds is more than warranted. But I do like what I see in the trailer. I rank it 4th best trailer in 2015 so far.

    That's silly.

He was born to play this part. He is perfect for it, and from what we've already scene, is literally knocking it out of the park.

He's been in some bad movies, so people like to assign blame to him, because that is what people do. Its like blaming Clooney for the horrible Batman movie.

Oh stop it. It's a C list actor playing a comic book character. This isn't Orson Welles as Charles Foster Kane. It's barely Adam Sandler as Happy Gilmore.

Indications are that Reynolds is better as Deadpool than he was as Green Lantern. That's it. Can we not heap praise on a performance based on a 3 minute trailer? Can the movie actually come out first? kthxbai.

No, we should **** on it based on a 3 minute trailer instead. Much better.

I didn't imply he was orson welles or anything of the sort, you over reacted.

Say what you want about Ryan Reynolds before they totally messed it up in Wolverine: Origins he looked like he was born to play the role of Deadpool.

My excitement comes from his press conference at comic con, interviews about the character since Origins where he states he is a HUGE fan of the character and the other things he has done to promote Deadpool like the R-Rated announcement and Teaser to the Teaser Trailer. Heck he even did the P-Diddy pose with Conan O'Brian.

Where did I **** on it? I said skepticism of Reynolds is warranted, but I like what I see in the trailer. What part of any of that is ****ting on anything?

Then you flipped and brought out a phrase reserved for all-time great acting jobs. Do you even read, bro?

This all I can understand. It's good to see the actor really excited for the character, rather than appearing like he's just there because of contractual obligation. That's all fine with me.

I would have liked to see some fourth wall breakage in the trailer, but I guess they're saving that.

    Hahahahahahaa. Yeah ok.

Saying he was born to play Deadpool is somehow equating him with the greatest of all time. Ok.

Also, ignoring everything that you've actually seen of him playing this part in stuff for this movie, in favor of incorrect analysis of movies that have nothing to do with this movie or role is ****ting on it.

There were two fourth wall breaking moments. The one where he says he is touching himself and in one of the trailers (I believe the PG version) he says, "Queue the music". I am sure the movie will have a few more.

I also saw the terrible comic con footage and Stan Lee has the best cameo and at one point he says, "**** Liefeld," which I do hope makes the final cut.

I do understand skepticism for Reynolds. Nearly every movie he has been in since Origins has been terrible. I do think he fits this roll well.

The smoke inhalation scene is not breaking the 4th wall. He's talking to himself, not to the viewer.

Yes, and talking to himself. The close-up of the character is not automatically breaking the fourth wall. That's not how cinematography works.

This is what it looks like when the fourth wall is broken:

Ryanpool needs to turn to the audience and directly address the audience with full awareness that there is an audience in order to qualify as breaking the fourth wall. If Ryanpool, after delivering the line about the green and animated costume, looks directly at the audience and says "I was terrible in that movie", THAT will qualify as breaking the fourth wall.

Sorry dude. That is very ticky-tacky. That was classic Ferris Bueller 4th wall talking to the audience.

He isn't going to break the forth wall yet. He isn't Deadpool in that scene.

While I was skeptical about this because of Green Lantern flashbacks, it looks like they got it right and Reynolds is perfect for the role.

Not ticky-tacky. There's a difference between cinematography and breaking the fourth wall. The shot in specific HAS to be an extreme close up in order to see the smoke enter his nostrils and exit his mouth.

Don't confuse an example with a request.

    Direct definition of fourth wall:

Ryan Reynolds acting as Deadpool, in a different movie, owned by a different movie studio, alluding to his character in green lantern, and the way the REAL LIFE studio/director/editor made his suit animated, is a direct definition of breaking the 4th wall.

That isn't cinematography. That is the same as the Hot Tub Time Machine when he looked in the camera and said, "It is like a Hot Tub Time Machine."

Blatant 4th wall break. He is also looking directly into the camera as if he is talking to me. The shot can be an extreme close up enough to show the smoke entering his nostrils without direct eye contact.

In a movie, you aren't supposed to look directly at the camera, it is weird. It is not like Chief Quimby was on the other end of the conversation.

It's a reference, not breaking the fourth wall. If you didn't know that Reynolds was in a Green Lantern movie with an animated suit, the line would make no sense to you. He isn't even addressing the audience when he says it, he's addressing a character.

You're also not supposed to break the fourth wall, it is weird.

Stop it. You know what he means. We know what he means. The writer knew what he meant when he wrote it. Its a direct acknowledgement to the green lantern. Its fourth wall. Period.

Didn't expect to see all this arguing. I'm excited and skeptical at the same time because Fox's track record with Marvel movies is hit and miss.

Deadpool breaks the 4th wall all the time and did so in the movie. Movie was fantastic.
