Ross is less wordy and urbane here:

(On if he is getting antsy for winning results given all of the spending on free agents, stadium, sports science) – “You’re goddamn right.”

The one below- not that big a deal imo, but stupid and douchy. Why insult the Heat, especially when your fan base is populated by a lot of Heat fans, the hometown team? Not a well thought out comment at all, make himself look petty and takes his character down a slight notch.

(On if this is still a ‘Dolphins town’ and what he makes of some of the talk that the Heat have taken over) – “If you just look at our sales and how the fans are responding to that and the excitement. I think the Heat is a different organization now that LeBron James isn’t there. I think the Dolphins are a team that’s kind of capturing the imagination over the whole entire fan base here in South Florida.”

Ross would have been better off to make nice with Arison and try for cross promotions, something to energize both fan bases, Dolphin/Heat promo videos on tv and in the stadium/arena, etc. Both franchises are licking fresh wounds the last couple of years, might as well help each other instead of being petty. I've tried to not think of Ross as a dick, this didn't help.

I can accept he could have framed that better, yes. But keep in mind this is a press conference and not a carefully thought out press release. Also, to be honest I don't think most Dolphin or Heat fans would've noticed if you didn't tell them Ross said something they should care about. It takes a heightened level of sensitivity just to pick up on that IMO.
