I didn't see it, because unlike you, no one I ever saw post had examples like you.

edit: That also looks like an artist's rendering, and since nothing was said at E3, I doubt anything will come up at this point of the life cycle.

And I'm certain it has been said before, but MS had motion controllers well before Nintendo (I'm referring to the sidewinder for PC).

Sony also had a patent about motion control in 2005 for a controller but I'm sure it ramped up once the Wii came out.

I'd prefer not to find out how or who would do such a thing. :tongue2:

Once again, I was not really speaking of launch titles specifically. In fact I think both companies had lackluster line ups at launch. I agree also that RFOM was the best out of all of the launch titles. My complaint was more about not having much to offer in the window soon after that.

Gears of War is one of the 360's best sellers and they had it ready a year after launch. Sony really didn't get anything comparable until this spring, though things are surely looking much better from here on out.

As a PC owner though I can't get myself to buy into the 360. I will get the PS3 because of the exclusives that they offer a PC gamer compared to Msoft.

My gripe really comes down to wanting Sony's exclusives earlier than they are giving us.

Winning the console race would make a ton of money like winning the tv race would or the digital media player race or anything of that nature. However if you are still selling a lot and making a profit it is fine. Sony did lose a huge exclusive with Final Fantasy XIII that I am sure they wish they had back. I just don't think either side sees it as a big of deal as we like to make it out to be.

The reason why Sony and MS do not see Wii as competition, imo, is that games that sell on Wii are nintendo games that are not sold on Sony or MS systems. THe games that are on Wii and are on Sony or MS are being sold much more on Sony or MS. The parts that they really care about the Wii is not doing very good. The thought process I also feel is that buying a Wii does not mean NOT buying a PS3 or an Xbox360.

A big reason to become more family friendly is because family friendly things that are awesome sell like hot cakes. Like the Sims and the Wii and Mario Party. If you can find something that appeals to the entire market and then you are going to sell well. Plus I don't see it as ripping off the Wii for either console to give a motion control remote. For one it is more like ripping off the NES which had the power glove. It would be stupid for both consoles to not provide something similar since customers seem to like it.

I don't really see Sony having many "Failures" or "Misteps". I am sure they would love to be dominating the console race and love being the only game in town. Thank god that they are not. They had a strategy that seems to have paid off. The cell chip which they helped design and partially own is gaining momentem and blu ray flat out won the race, that it would not have won if it wasn't for the ps3.

One last thing. PS3 launch games were just as good, if not better than the ps2 launch games. IE, both were crap.
