What Are Reasonable Rookie Expectations for Miami Dolphins DT Jordan Phillips? | Bleacher Report (via http://ble.ac/teamstream-) http://teamstre.am/1em2O5n
To me that's when you draft a guy like him, when he doesn't have to contribute immediately and there's stellar players at his position to learn from. That's the proper way to develop talent, IMO.
I agree with you wholeheartedly my friend! Learn the system. Get stronger. Refine those techniques. Then he'll be ready when his name is called.
I just want to see glimpses of brilliance from Philips. slowly work him into the rotation. I'd like to see him locked in as our #3 DT in 2nd half of the season.
Agreed. Same goes for Parker too. Jordan was never going to start over Mitchell or Suh. Add Mosely to the equation and Jordan is strong depth that can spell the more experienced players here and there and hopefully contribute in short yardage situations. All the while, working on his technique and learning how to be pro. That's a successful rookie season, regardless of whatever the stats add up.
I have very high expectations for the long run, but very low expectations for the first couple years. Very low.
