I'm excited about a great deal with this offense but until the season is under way, half-way through, or even finished, I'm going to have a question mark about Philbin and, after him, the OL. I believe those two things have the biggest potential to derail the team - the offense directly and even the defense indirectly if they find themselves on the field for a disproportionately long amount of time.

So much of this teams seems to be seeing growth, even Philbin grew from 2013 to 2014. I just hope he can keep that up, and I hope the OL can stay healthy and play to a decent level. If those two things hold up then I reckon we're in for an incredible season. If not, then we can look forward to sitting down on the couch and watching another precarious off-season with our old friend eight-eight.

he can do what all great coaches could do, and thats inspire your men to work hard at their craft...this stuff alex about how once the players hit the field its on them is not thorough enough, good coaches inspire payers to work harder on their craft, they create an environment where working hard in practice is what its all about, this all translates to their performance level on the field.

Philbin does over-ride decisions on the field (as he's admitted) and he reportedly made the call on the baffling OL shuffling last season. An easy example was putting Dallas Thomas in at T. Some of Thomas' whiffs did a pretty good job of stopping the offense last season.

Several head scratching calls were admitted overrides by Philbin.

I posted a comment a few months back, I think it was in the club, about how I see Philbin as a pretty average coach, but that the team could win with him as long as he doesn't meddle too much. I just want him to be an administrator and leave the offense to Lazer.

I agree with you on that.
