JJ Barea killed us back in 2011. Wouldn't mind having him at the right price. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
I hate that f*cking hobbit. Don't want him! Really don't want to have to root for another player I dislike on a personal level.
Wouldve liked them to pursue Gerald Green... If that was even possible... barea though... What can he possibly give us that Tyler or napier cant?
I don't know why everyone is so down on Barea as a backup PG. Barea averaged 7.5pts / .420% FG / .320% 3 / .809% FT / 3.4ast in 17.7min Chalmers averaged 10.2pts / .403% FG / .294% 3 / .774% FT / 3.8ast in 29.6min And Chalmers isn't even gone yet.
How funny would it be if he now turns around and leaves.... No one did anything officially today...its all rumors til the 9th when the moratorium ends. Phil did fine today. Plenty of teams did stupid things and the Knicks didnt and any day the Knicks dont do something stupid is a win lol. Sad but true. Aldridge and Deandre meetings with Knicks later this week. Still wouldnt surprise me if the Knicks signed a bunch of players to 1 year deals and rolled over a bunch of cap for next year and asked Durant who he wants to bring with him. 1-2 year deal? Sure. Gotta have someone on the roster next year lol.
Yeah, but Rio had a much larger load to carry with everybody hurt, and he was actually focused on defensively. I'm not saying Rio is a superstar comapred to Barea, but those numbers are definately skewed in Barea's favor due to everybody being hurt on the HEAT last year.
Want to take this opportunity to say thank you once again to Miami HEAT for being a classy, high standard organization. Reading stuff like this make you realize that some of the things we take for granted. Deadspin Article that talks about why David W or this So thank you Pat and Micky Arison for breeding championship culture without being scumbags.
Noted. Still, the productivity in close to half the minutes can't be ignored. All that being said Rio is still on the roster and Barea is not. Very early.. let's wait for numbers.
I guess. Still, having the option between the two i'd definately go with Rio. His knowledge of system/culture and championship experience > Barea Plus, having to come off the bench again, with a healthy squad of Whiteside, Wade, Dragic, CB and whatnot, will definitely open things up for him vs being a starting PG.
They started Cole for way too many games last year. Thank god he's gone. The inbound atrocity is enough of a reason alone to be euthanized.
Barea over Chalmers is a move for the higher pace they say they want to run. He creates more on offense with the ball in his hands, stresses defenses a little more, nice PnR player, good two-man basketball. What you lose obviously is Rio's defensive ability and versatility, also his strength and length on the boards. Just different types of players.
Thanks. No doubt Riley won't leave any stone unturned. Just surprised at how the market has played out for him. He'd be an incredible addition plus him and UD are two of the baddest mofos in the league.
Greg Monroe signs a max with the Bucks. Lakers are striking out big, wow. At least the Knicks got Afflalo for a reasonable contract.
That Bucks team is shaping up to be pretty good. Too bad for the people of Milwaukee that they might be in Seattle in a year or so. And how hilarious are the Lakers and Knicks right now? Greg Monroe swaps Detroit for Milwaukee and barely considered the two largest markets in the league
I see the need for barea given rio's shooting woes last year. I love rio's defense however, hope we keep him
Aldridge reporting Barea wants a 3 year deal and that Dallas is back in the hunt No thanks at 3 years bro.
Looks like Dallas is rejoining the fight for Barea, and talk is of a 3 year deal, so i would say the Heat are OUT! (good, rather have Rio)
They can have him. And lol @ Monroe getting max.. If hes a max contract then Cousins is going to get Anthony Davis money in the future.
Another person out there I like is Wesley Matthews, but I think he'd be out of Miami's price range. Talk about a knock down shooter.
I think I would too, when you get down to it. They're such different players, I'm wondering if Riley wanted more of a pure PG/creator type, since Rio's game has really drifted away from that. The way he plays, I think Rio was a great PG fit alongside LeBron, where he didn't have to be the primary ballhandler/penetrator, etc. I think the role change last season explains his shooting struggles, where spot-ups on a silver platter were harder to come by. But yeah anyways his defense and strength and length I prefer just a little more than what Barea would bring with the ball in his hands.
