today I watched a lot of jake in college, thats what I was basing my opinion on when I said he is better than lynch..but were still talking third string stuff.
Oh, Jezus Christmas. He is essentially a rookie, since he missed all of last training camp. None of us, even you, have seen him in live action against NFL competition. No one is expecting him to compete for a starting job. As for the other young TEs in the league competing for a #3 job, he compares pretty well.
I'd like to see both in game action before emphatically stating one or the other is a more viable threat. I will say that as a blocker in college, he was IMO the 2nd best TE in the 2014 draft, after C.J Fiedorowicz.
your right..lets give him and Jake a whole preseason to win the job...only reason why I kinda started it was I kept hearing about some drops..
Eifert...that names rings a bell. Isn't he the dude that you were assuring me was definitely a better TE than Zach Ertz? Yeah, Eifert may have looked better in the underwear Olympics, but in pads it's Ertz all day long and twice on Sunday.
I've given you props on that thus far in other threads, but the careers are still in their infancy so don't get too cocky old man.
Hoskins is not currently on the Seattle roster. They currently list 5 TEs. Jimmy Graham, Luke Willson, Anthony McCoy, Cooper Helfet, and Rashaun Allen.
At least I was willing to wait until they actually played in the league. Someone else was getting cocky before the fact.
that wasn't the game we were playing..scouts/GM's do not have that luxury, so when its predraft, thats the game.. you win...so far..
Agreed. Lynch never impressed me. I thought that pick was huge whiff by Miami last year. Then he got hurt, put on IR, and soon he's going to the unemployment line. I'm not all that excited by Wright either. If he couldn't make something of himself in NE, I don't think he'll make something of himself here in Miami, if we get the claim. EDIT: NVM, Wright was claimed by Tampa.
Just a thought but could Turner at RG be because he can play either Guard spot equally well and the coaches feel that going up against Suh in practice will make him a better player? Turner is said to play nasty and would likely step up to the challenge whereas D Thomas has struggle and playing against Suh every day in practice could kill his confidence to the point where he is worthless.
This is very possibly a 'Pouncey at Guard' situation. This coaching staff has now shown the willingness to play a player in a miscast position if it maximizes the potential of another player. They might be making the bet that Turner (RG) + Someone (LG) is a net gain over Turner at his natural left side position + someone who will utterly suck on the right side. Meanwhile I'm over here saying Dallas Thomas is a lost cause and no amount of math matters because he's a 0 rated player at any position. If Turner is a higher positive on the left than the right, then Thomas's 0 means you're losing by minimizing Turner's rating. These are of course arbitrary numbers.
