The common factor in three of the five high quality pass rush reps in there is that inside spin which pairs well with Cam Wake's outside rush.
I watched him play a pure 3 technique in the 43, exploded off the ball, lineman didn't have a chance, ran down the back for tfl..it was a great play.. It's interesting as to wear his ceiling, he's one of the strongest players on the team, has lots of experience now, has two really good pass rush moves {bull and spin} and is only 24 years old..

I thought OV had a much better overall season than 2013 even though the sacks were down. He seemed much better against the run.
Probably translates into this being his last year as a Dolphin. This is one of the biggest reasons I absolutely hated the Pouncey contract. We could lose both Lamar Miller and Olivier Vernon because of the cap situation. Pouncey may have garnered a high pick this last offseason and we could have saved the 53 million. Everyone should be praying for Dion Jordan,because he really needs it, and we may really need him next year.
Funny, I was just going to mention this. Someone was talking about how young Jenkins still is (at 23) but Vernon is only 24. Cam Wake wasn't even in the league at 24. I think Vernon has even more upside in him the next 4-5 seasons. This year should be pretty great as well given the marked improvement at DT.
They should be able to Franchise Vernon at least, which would keep him another year, if not sign him to a long term deal. There will likely be some other contracts coming off the books due to age and the Pouncey deal is actually a pretty cap friendly deal. Pouncer's contract is not going to be the prohibitive factor for not re-signing Vernon.
Imho, we have to find a way to resign our homegrown players. We need to keep both Vernon and Miller...they are both young and getting better every year..I would imagine there are many teams that would love to have them..Also, keep in mind that Vernon is going against usually every team's best Lineman at LT..Find a way Tannenbaum to keep Em at home.
Mathis is looking for more money. He will demand at least a two year deal , probably three. This of course means we are talking about the cap in 2016 and 2017, maybe 2018. Dolphins are already over the cap in 2016 without Miller or Olivier, or several other less costly guys. How do you possibly see a cap hit of over 10 mil as friendly?? Twenty four . We talked about that when he was drafted DJ , people tend to dismiss that ... still. Said I liked how he made plays around the LOS. Players coming into the league as rookies are twenty four . Best is yet to come, imo .
