I dunno, I think she's kind of hot. I know what you mean though. And Saul's female friend who he tried to partner up with... totally hot. I would have thrown her up against the corner office windows and done bad things.
Seems to me like this new Rico case is going to be the straw the breaks the camels back. Saul is going to lose... His brother very well may die... who knows. But Saul is going down, hard. It'll show him the light. And when he hits rock bottom, he's going to re-born as Saul.
Ya that one puzzles me. Not to mention I think they gave everyone about as good a reason as any for why Mike is so pissed off w himself and everyone else after his backstory was explained.
I wouldn't be surprised if his brother somewhat steals his big case and takes it to HHM and that girl stays w them. That's my guess as to what sends him spiraling and turning in to Saul.
You know what's kinda crazy? When this show is done we'll have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more reason behind Jimmy breaking bad than we got for Walter.
Anyone else think that the vet who appears to be about to throw some work Mike's way will eventually lead to Gus? I reeeeally hope that's the case but I doubt we see him before next season at the earliest.
I'd say just very different reasons for both obviously. W Saul we're getting a much slower buildup and much more screen time devoted to his transformation.
If it does, I expect Gus's face to be the last thing we see in the season finale. I'm saying we have a much more detailed reasoning behind Saul's decent then we ever got with Walter. I mean with Walter, the actual reasoning and internal struggle for going from teacher to meth cook is never really shown.
Yea I could def see them doing something like that. Maybe show a logo for Pullos Hermanos or something. Sure it is, the cancer. Yea, he goes on an ego trip after he gets going but his initial spiral always started there. They then flesh it out more w the flashbacks and how he feels inferior.
Right, I mean for me, as a married man with two kids, I related to Walt straight out of the box. He's got a wife that's preggers, he's got an older son, nearing college (and all those educational expenses) that is disabled. He's stuck in a job that is getting him nowhere financially. It was about securing the future for his family (right or wrong). My guess on where this show is going however... I think it's going to surprise us. I don't think it'll be as predictable as some may think. Kim Wexler will probably be the one that puts him over the edge. She's always been in his corner. Something nobody else in the show has been (even his brother). Yet in Breaking Bad, there was never a reference to his love life, to her directly... nothing. It must be something he does that pushes her away. They haven't been totally romantically linked yet, some subtle stuff. That relationship still has to play itself out. Obviously, he changes his name at some point to Goodman (not McGill). so there's going to be a break with his brother due to something, his death or something legal. But I don't think either of these things will happen before the season ends. I'm hoping for Gus to make an appearance though with Mike. Mike is obviously starting to "turn" or revive himself quickly. I think his daughter in law kind of played him with the whole, I need you to watch my kid thing (oh look what I found in my purse, yeah.. about that cash in the envelope)... but this is just a drop in the ocean... Now he's vested because he spent the day with the little girl. He really wants to help them more than ever before. Excited to see his character transform more and more into darkness.
Having only seen (currently) mid-way through Season 3 of Breaking Bad, I have to say I enjoy this show more than Breaking Bad. I like them both, but this one just seems more entertaining to me.
HHM can't just "steal" the case. A "case" isn't just some mythical object that can be passed around. Right now, Jimmy has a few clients who are residents at Sandpiper. He hopes to turn those few clients into a class of every resident at Sandpiper. No one can take those individual clients away from Jimmy unless they want to leave. It doesn't matter what Chuck's contract says. Sure, jimmy and chuck might owe HHM some money at the end, but we're talking a relatively small percentage. The only way for Jimmy to get screwed here is for his clients to fire him and hire HHM, or for HHM to quickly go get other clients at other Sandpiper places and get the class certified before Jimmy can. And even if that happened, Jimmy could still pursue his own client's cases outside of the class and make a nice chunk of change. If I was HHM and I really thought this was a $20 million case, and I don't want Chuck retiring/quitting so I owe him a bunch of money, the smartest and cheapest thing to do would just be to hire Jimmy, pay him a few hundred thousand dollars a year and have him bring the case. Even if he negotiates a percentage of the eventual recovery HHM will still make out like bandits. Or just co-counsel on the case. Jimmy will need resources he simply doesn't have to actually get a case like this to trial. If anything, Jimmy's descent into Saul being based on this case is more likely that he has to give it up voluntarily because he just can't handle it on his own and then getting screwed by whatever deal he is forced to work out with HHM.
As in you wouldn't expect him to be angry after what happened? lol Idk what you're trying to say. When you say nothing happened then I think you might want to try a more over the top show then. Chuck is mentally ill and is obviously a big part of Jimmy's life. You're asking a whole lot of action from a show that's 8 episodes in. SOA or TWD may be more to your liking.
Actually, Jimmy was already bad in his flashbacks, in jail and conning people etc etc. To me, he's not breaking bad... he's already bad, trying to be good and stay there.. it's kind of the opposite of breaking bad from that perspective.
So Chuck can work the case even if his contract tells him he can't? I don't know about that. To me, that would be a loophole to HHM stealing it from under Jimmy. Chuck's # has been used to access and research HHM's data base for Jimmy's case. That sounds like Chuck is back working again at HHM. So whose case is it?
Assuming that the show is being realistic, the only contract we know Jimmy has right now is with the one old woman who couldn't afford to pay him the full price for the will. We then later see Jimmy schmoozing a room full of seniors talking about the invoices, so let's assume he signed a few or all of those people. Chuck has nothing to do with the contract. I presume the Representation Agreement is with "The Law Offices of James McGill." or whatever Jimmy is calling his firm. Chuck has no association with that firm. There is no lawsuit yet, so Chuck hasn't filed a Notice of Appearance yet. All he did was help Jimmy with some research and sit in during a settlement conference. Whatever HHM charges for the copies can easily be paid back. That's all they used. And if she was ever questioned, Kim could have easily explained that she was using Westlaw for a new case she was looking into or whatever. None of this gives HHM any right to the "case". They can stop Chuck from working on it certainly. I can't work on any outside cases. Anything I bring in goes through the firm. If I didn't do this I'd be fired, but the firm wouldn't own the case. They might be able to take some of the recovery at the end, but the client is the only person who can choose the lawyer. What this may lead to is Chuck being in breach of his employment agreement and thus forfeiting his stake in HHM, though that is unlikely in the real world.
Don't get snarly, nobody likes that. And? This show isn't BB. Jimmy isn't Walt, nor is the show always on Jimmy as evident by Mike having pretty much his own episode already.
Walt's decent and internal struggle was absolutely detailed throughout every season, including season 1. I don't agree that BCS is doing a better job in that regard. Not at all.
Chuck could snake the clients for HHM, die/relapse, and HHM could then freeze Saul out. It's pretty well established that Saul doesn't have the resources or experience to pursue a case like this. Then Chuck is still working for HHM, so that payday is gone. Saul is stuck outside looking in at HHM making millions on his case. He could try to get some of his own clients, but without HHM and Chuck, he's stuck writing on TP and not understanding the relavant case law. A few failures there and...
First of all, I didn't say better job. I said "more detailed" and "way more reason". And I wasn't talking about his progression AFTER he decided to cook/sell meth. The moment he decided to cook/sell meth was the definitive break. We get very little DETAIL, as to why Walt decided to make that initial break. We got cancer and love of chemistry that's about it. With Saul, we're seeing the actual internal struggle to make that initial break from what he is now. We did not get those details with Walt. I'm also not saying one is better or worse, I'm just saying its interesting that the spin-off from a show called Breaking Bad shows more DETAIL behind their main character breaking bad. That's all.
I still think Kim is going to be the lynchpin for Jimmy breaking bad. She is essentially the only friend he has. Her screwing him over would be the ultimate betrayal.
1. Cancer 2. Love of chemistry 3. Emasculated by wife, friends, family, employer. 4. Power 5. Legacy 6. Regret All these issues (and probably more, I wrote that list in like, 4 seconds) were highlighted throughout the 5 seasons.
I honestly don't understand the communication break down here. What word can I use besides "detailed"?
