    Andy Kent is a reporter for the Miami Dolphins, and although the comments can be expected to put the Dolphins in a positive light, he is not as homer as say Andy Cohen.

    Andy Kent has spent some time here but has recently stepped away.. I think the Fins frown on BB participation, but none the less, I wish he would come back and visit every so often.

    Here is the link;

    http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/news/top_story.asp?contentID=5892

    The title is; Camp Dolphins Day 1-Merling, Henne Sign, Other Camp Notes
    Well said, it was important I think that everyone is signed and ready to go. I am very pleased with the efforts all around to get this done. IMO, it was the early decision and signing of Jake that set this all up.. it demonstrated that we meant bidness!

    Andy went on to say that he was a little rusty, and only in shells, but that he "rooms" with McCown so that is a plus in my book. I hope the lad picks the vets brain day and night.

    On Merling, who signed the day before and was in full pads for the morning practice.. every year I find a pass rushing hero in camp that fizzles as soon the the bullets are real, I hope Mr. Merling doesn't do me this year. I think we got darned good talent value because of his injury.. let's hope.

    That Merling actually got a mention by Coach Sparano in his presser made me smile, heck of a good way for an important rookie to start his career, first impressions and all....:wink2: Sparano made the point several times the importance of our rookies stepping up, he's right THEY are the future success.

    Andy next discusses McCown and Beck, said he didn't notice any issues with McCowns chain sawed finger.

    The next four paragraphs cover selected quotes from Coach's presser, and go into the discussed elsewhere QB rotation this staff will use. It makes perfect sense and allows a better evaluation of our resource. It also allows a day of fewer throws, resting the all precious arms a little.

    This makes me nervous as hell. I can't decide if Porter is once again looking to skip camp, or if it is contrived to allow another kid to get a longer look, or if it is real. IF this is a real tweak.. and hence my worry, how long will it linger. Time and time again we have seen tweaked ankle and hammies linger the entire season.. not quit enough to sit, but no where near full potential. I think Joey Porter can earn all his paycheck this year by becoming a leader "by example" and not by mouth.. we need him to be healthy and getting first team reps.. we cannot afford him to play himself back into shape during the first 3-4 games of the season again.

    This makes me hopeful that the seriousness of the ankle tweak has been conveniently overstated. Andy goes on to mention Jason Fergeson becoming dehydrated.. welcome to Florida big boy..what doesn't kill you only makes you better than them in the September sun.

    In the bubble?? excellent, it allowed further work without killing the big fella..

    This is VERY good news to my ears..

    This, IMO, makes that ^^ even better;
    this is SO important.. I am convinced that Ricky will be fine carrying the load until Ronnie is "really" healed, and not just "able" to play. We are SOOO lucky here.. Few teams have the absolute luxury of being able to take as much time as wanted for the return of their franchise back as us.. as, I think we still have two.

    on Ricky;

    as vocal as I have been over not wanting William's in a Dolphin uni EVER again, I fully recognize his value to us, and I applaud his stated desire to be responsible to himself and his family. This could be the epiphany he has always needed and can only bode good things for us.. either in keeping him , or in trade. I wish I could recall exactly how much longer we have him under current contract..

    Yes he does..

    ahhhhh, music to my ears. That is the concept I have always prescribed to.. that units take time to develop. I understand the Hud method of thats just an excuse for poor play, but having been a lineman into high school, I KNOW we were better with time as a unit. Poor CK about had a heart attack when they switched the line around opening game last year.. "I" approve of this offensive lineman head coaches approach and think we will see some exciting powerball very soon. :hi5:

    I had missed that elsewhere.. I'm pretty sure I like that.. I think we have already seen the best of what is left of Martin. My thanks to Andy for the report and comments, y'all have fun.

    There is much more to the article, the link again;

    Excellent read and thoughts Marty. Thanks. I think that the Miami Dolphins, if you work for them, makes you not be a member of a message board / forum. I don't know if it's a conflict of interest, but I heard that from someone who was a member who went to work for them.

    Thanks for the infomation bro there is on thing that I am so glad to hear and I know we are heading in the right direction

    I could not agree with that more we are really starting to turn this ship around and with Coach Sparono driving it it should be good. We must have 5 guys set in the second preseason game I think because the guys need to get chmisty and lern how to comunicate with each other

    I can hardly wait. For me, some of the most interesting of all the preseason is the breakdowns I get to read about lineplay.. CK grades it play by play when he has the time.. but the others who contribute too.. guys who see things "I" don't.

    I am glad that we can rely on to backs and I am glad that most importantly we are leting Ronnie Brown come back slow and not rushing him in to playing. I think that is great because with an injury like that just because you are healed does not mean you are ready to come back. I am glad that we are going to test Ronnie Brown out in some preseason games but I hope we dont but him in there for to long but I know that Coach Sparono is smart enough to not give him to much time.

    I could not agree more bro

    Excellent article and nice thoughts cnc66. This is going to be a very interesting preseason. I think quickly these coaches will make a decision on who gives us the best opportunity for success. Of course the O-line is the most important in terms of just getting the starters reps together. The others will fall in as the preseason pans out. I would hope, and have confidence that we will, have the entire starting roster figured out and most of the situation package 1st stringers figured out by the third preseason game and just adjusting depth at the bottom end of the roster by then.

    That sounds great I am glad Ricky Williams is doing well we need him.

    Ever sense he quite on us the first time he was caught on drugs and just left I have always been so vocal about how I never wanted him a Miami Dolphins uniform. But I could see even last year that he was trying to turn his life around and be productive as a man and a football player. So I am glad that Ricky Williams is being responsible for himself and that he wants to be apart of our team. I would also like to take back all those things I said about Ricky Williams. So I agree with you bro good post.

    There are several rather riveting stories developing here in Fins TC...Perhaps not to other teams or teams' fans, but to us for sure...Andy brings out several of those issues...The thing is, other than the guys he mentioned, there are still a few more stories developing in other positions of the team...

    Oh for sure, it has just begun. There will me more every day and with Sparano insisting every position will be filled with the best player, we will be busy trying to keep up. I can hardly wait.

    To me, this season is going to be like Christmas as a kid where you didn't really ask for anything special, so your expectations are kind of low. Sure, you know it's Christmas and you're going to have a blast no matter what, spending time with friends and family, the great food, the smell of the tree, the cooler weather etc. You wake up Christmas morning, see all the presents under the tree, even though you didn't ask for anything specific, you can't wait to open them up and see what everyone got.

    I wanna see what everyones got!! :up:

    Things i got from listening to all the press conferences last night.and watching the brief highlights..

    1} Becks release is fast...real fast, with an attitude that hesnot gonna fail.

    2}loved it when smiley paused waited for a moment thought about it and said..Jake Long is a SPECIAL PLAYER. even went as far as saying that he could be better then Joe Thomas, it was tongue and cheek but he was serious.

    3}Absolutely love the way Davone Bess goes about practicing, the kid is focused on every play, almost ninja like baby.

    4}Ricky williams is a freak, Finally this intelligent humble weak man is focused on one thing...HIS CRAFT, and we shall reap the benefits of seeing what a focused motivated freak of nature can bring to the table.

    5}Vonnie Holliday being the leader on our team scares the hell out of me.

    6}Justin smiley and Jake Long our becoming best buddies...good for us.

    7}The new beginning is not just a slogan, it is our reality and OHHHH what a beautiful reality it is. The players have totally bought in which means i will finally get to see, after 30 years, a team that plays together like a family, plays with an attitude that i have longed for forever. a spirit that is almost tangible, I have totally drank the koolaid.

    8} Our team wont admit it but deep down they are unsure why they are happy that zach and jason our gone, it has unified this team in a way thats hard to put into words. Its their team for good or for worse, they have no excuses.

    9} From listening to all of them and seeing them smile and look out for each other has made me very excited, i actually have felt some sort of void or dissconnect from our team in the past, i dont feel that anymore, i feel like their my team again, with players that bleed aqua.

    10} Thank you Mr. H and thank you thank you Mr. Parcells......RESPECT THE CODE BABY!!!

    Nice article Cnc, should be fun to see who wins the RG slot.

    Didn't care for the Bubble Deal though, to me that is not a good sign, but I'll admit I have a bias against it already though.

    Yeah, Ricky has alot of opportunity in him at this stage of his life. Not that he hasn't in the past. Ricky seems like a together person now, who has figured himself out. I was as shocked as anyone when he quite, and when he popped positive the first time. I do know this, IMO, Ricky has changed and is ready to be a definate asset to this team. I would be shocked, even more so this time, if he up and retired. Would I be shocked if he popped again? A little, but addictioin is a hard demon to overcome, so I would not be knocked for a loop, just a little sad. I think, he has had the enlightenment and we will reap the benefits and enjoy the show that is to come in his life. At least I hope so.

    Thanks Mario, I apprciate the number,

    dj.. wow, hellofa post bro I LOVED number seven.. yea.. I think I have officially become a kool aide drinker again..somehow, it doesn't feel as empty.

    Padre.. if used properly, it is an asset. There IS a choice.. go back into the meeting rooms when lightning nears, or continue practice in the bubble. As we took a hit and had a guy hurt, lightning is taken seriously.

    This was not a lightening situation though Cnc, this was (from what I could gather) Robert Ferguson having the heat effect him and then going into the Bubble to finish his work.

    If the guy has heat problems (and as we both know, you can't really explain Florida heat, you have to experience it to understand) if he has heat problems now, what will happen in September...ya know?

    I'm hoping Ferguson was just caught off guard by 95 degees and 98% humidity...

    Do I want to see anyone overheat like Ferguson did? Of course not. But if that happens, at least the bubble gives him the opportunity to keep working out and not just abandon the practice. The more work the better.

    as I read it Padre, I understood it to say he came back out and finished practice after the IV, then "after" practice, went into the bubble for more work. We both know little is accomplished if you continue cramping.

    Thanks brother, theres something so exciting about starting completely over with a man in charge that i have the outmost respect for in Parcells, i couldnt be happier.

    P.S. MAN do i want John Beck to be sucessful, its the combination of that sweet effortless delivery with such a great mindset that intrigues me so

    I dont know what i saw last year with him but there was something great in there, i know he looked like a fumbling idiot at times but it was just a simple screen pass, a little scramble, a throw with that lighning release, the fact that he kept fighting and getting up, even if it was garbage time against the bengals, i remember cheering like a little girl in the middle of the sportbar cause i saw what i needed to see, and that was a glimpse of something special.

    I was happy for Beck as well, now IMO he looked bad last season, we were 1-15, everyone looked bad. The stuff that came out later about Hadnot not blocking for him made me see red.

    IMO, Beck really did not have a chance to show what he could do for us, our team was just terrible and he really did not have much to work with, I expect much more out of him this season and I think he can deliver.

    I too liked his heart. He was getting killed by blindsides and jumped right up looking for the next play. His release is a thing of beauty too, it makes his passes look effortless.
