I support both moves especially in light of Garner's considering retirement.

I never saw Wilson do much. The team always seemed high on him, but I didn't see any plays made and some dumb penalties.

Right you are. He's been released according to Abramson.

I wonder if the team was high on Wilson because he was versatile enough to play multiple positions (CB, S, nickel). My issue has always been that versatility doesn't mean squat if you're mediocre at everything.

Sad to hear about Garner in regards to concussion symptoms lingering. In regards to money good move as he can be easily replaced with younger, cheaper and more durable backup. Resign Jason Fox as swing tackle and find a suitable backup guard.

good riddance with Finnegan, and hopefully staff learns from it. If you wanna go FA don't get declining guy, go get a Kareem Jackson this offseason if thats the route we are going. Reports read it's hard for a rookie to be relied upon to grasp Coyle's system. Also hard to figure Taylor or Davis relied upon to start. Have heard Flowers named rumored and not a terrible move but he is 29 not a long term investment like we need.

Jimmy Wilson kind of surprised to hear that but hopefully staff believes Michael Thomas can fill the void in Nickel/Backup FS mode.

Garner, Finnegan... No big losses there.

Wilson not coming back... Good news. Maybe we can find a depth guy like him that can at least tackle and cover.

IMO, Ellerbe earned the right to be our first cap cut. Dunno what they are waiting for with him.

Once the new league year starts (March 10th I do believe), we can save $4M on top of his savings, designating him as a post June 1st cut, and $4M more with Wheeler also being designated as one.

Waiting for June 1st to cut Ellerbe is the right move, especially since we don't have anyone who can play MLB right now.

We have Misi and we aren't playing any games anytime soon anyway. That is a rather illogical reason to not cut Ellerbe asap.
