Hawks sitting Horford, Teague, Carrol and Antic tonight. Embarrassing, but Heat needs to take advantage
Hawks could have brought their d-league team affiliate and we still wouldn't be winning. goodness.. we should not be this bad, there's no excuse.
Holy hell. Brutal half. Probably the worst of the season given the competition. Where is Norris Cole to save us?
I think what's disturbing to me is that for some reason, Spoelstra has given Walker a green light. There should be no reason at ALL, for that guy to have more shot attempts than anyone on this team. 3/16, and this isn't his first bad shooting night either. Chucking three's isn't going to do **** for us.
Whiteside is our high percentage player out there, and we give Beasley and Walker 29 combined shots. 7/29 from just those two players, two guys that have barely been on the team. WTF? Dragic with like 8 shot attempts, and Whiteside with about 9. I don't get it. Spoelstra please explain.
Maybe Spo is just trying to see what they have. Both are on 10 day contracts, so you have to evaluate pretty quickly whether you want to keep them for longer.
The complete failure to get Whiteside more touches is infuriating. The guy is dominating inside and you continually pass him up to let Walker and Beasley shoot 3s. It's probably too late for this year but Spo has to completely rethink his approach to offense now that we are fielding a more traditional lineup. Dragic and Deng both horrific tonight. So was Walker, though you expect him to be hot and cold
Yup. Part of it is them trying to prove themselves too, I think. Tonight was the worst-case scenario in that dept. Just...ugh. Back-to-back really bad losses.
I love Spo, but I think he deserves to take some heat (no pun intended) for their struggles this season. The reluctance to play through Whiteside is strange, but only playing 8 players last night with so many of those players struggling is pretty head-scratching as well.
Heat tv ratings are the fourth highest in the league while the Dolphins are the lowest in the NFL according to Barry Jackson.
I'll second this. Mason had a playground style "no blood no foul" type game that signified those Knicks teams. He had a tremendous amount of heart once he got his head on straight after a few years in Europe and the cba. One of Pat Riley's best discoveries along with John Starks and now Hassan Whiteside
I don't even understand why Tyler Johnson is suddenly benched after having produced well for us. I don't get the whole Beasley/Walker thing either. I mostly don't understand the Beasley signing, that guy is a scrub, he's never going to amount to anything in this league. Stop bringing him back. Continue with the Walker trial if you want but we already know what Beasley is.
This is a basketball town now. The Heat tweeted video of the mob scene for Whiteside at the mall today. Could any Dolphin draw that crowd?
Caleb Sturgis. But only immediately following a game at the Wal-Mart across the street from the stadium. And for all the wrong reasons.
Ariza and Mozgov getting into it, lol. This team is slowly taking on Harden's scrappy mentality. Don't bring Dwight back with that soft s**t.
Harden and Lebron getting into it. That should be Lebron's 2nd tech (refs won't call it). Get his a** out of here.
The league is doing everything they can to cheat us out of this game. This s**t is blatant. I've never seen anything like this in a regular season game.
Dolphin Mall just gave Whiteside a ridiculous showing at the Heat store. You would think Lebron stopped by to sign autographs. No bandwagon here, these are real Heat fans.
Game. Take your a**es back to Cleveland, lol. Good game...great win. Lebron and Harden put on a show. It was good to see Olajuwon so into this game.
What a great game to watch. That was intense! My main takeaway is that Cleveland fans should be worried that Blatt's going to cost them the East. I mean, wtf is this guy doing? His situational X's and O's makes very little sense to me. LeBron played great from everywhere but the foul line, lol. That was rich. Pleasantly surprised by Harden's defense today. Always been a big Beverly fan too...nice to see him play like that on national tv.
I am not the guy to say that I can coach a team better........But I can coach the Cavs MUCH better than Blatt can. The guy is clueless. But..maybe....Lebron is the real coach and he is terrible at it?
That was an embarrassing game for LeBron, he choked away the game and literally got kicked in the balls at one point.
I don't have Synergy or anything to confirm this - but LeBron seems to basically refuse to use Kevin Love in a pick and roll. I understand the need to keep Love in a corner to create space to drive - but he constantly has Tristan Thompson come out 3 ft beyond the arc to set a screen. Tristan at that point is worthless - no one is respecting him rolling to the rim from that depth. I've seen Love's synergy PnR numbers and they're pretty bad, so maybe I'm way off - but a LeBron / Love PnR should be more or less unguardable and we never see it. Kyrie does it and it results in a clear path to the basket or a wide open 3 for Love. It's just crazy to me - not even asking LeBron to run a play or not go full ISO - just use Love instead of Tristan. Tristan is great at getting open for little dump-offs along the baseline if LeBron were driving - even if it muddled space a bit. I believe Love has been the most (or pretty close to the most) efficient post player in the NBA this year. When the game slows down like that they should go to him down low. I LOVE Terrence Jones - but I'd love to see Love get the chance to take it to him near the hoop. Love had 3 total shots in the 4th qtr and OT. None in OT, in fact. Just crazy.
They should have traded for Ryan Anderson and kept Wiggins instead of going for Love. If all youre asking Love to do is camp in the three point lane Ryan would have been much cheaper.
Eh, I wouldn't call that a "kick". Not sure if he got T'd up for that, he should of because IMO it was intentional, but kick is too strong of a word. Bron turned on his flailing act a bit, but Harden should of been T'd up.
Tristan is flat out a clutz, Love missed open shots, JR was off...in the 4th Qtr n OT the Cavs looked a lot like the NYK....standing around while your superstar isolates. Kyrie is as important to that team as any sidekick in the league.
It isn't brain surgery. You run your shot charts, and self-scout. You find out what everybody does well with this found information. You adapt a offense to it. Blatt instead....."I run a Princeton Offense, and you clowns have to adjust to me." No wonder Bron waves off his calls all the time.
FOR YEARS....the Miami Heat have been a double post offense. The Lakers under Riley...Double post. The Knicks under Riley...Double Post. Riley came here....Double Post. They Sign Lebron James.....they re-design the entire offense around him and his strengths.
