I really am beginning to dislike Joe Philbin, a guy has back to back 1k seasons, then is underused, then is waived. WTF is wrong with him
Inevitable...he will sign with the Browns for about 3M a season and likely lead the team in receptions, albeit meaningless ones.
He isn't a good fit for the offense and he's not worth his contract. Are we really going to start blaming Philbin for everything now?
7 million dollars man. I love me some hartline but you can't be one of the most highly paid wrs and be so easily written out of the gameplan
I feel like popping a champagne bottle similar to what the 72 Dolphins do every season. YESSS! Good riddance!
No he'll sign with the Patriots to add to their group of white WRs. Then he'll have a career year and be sure to get 120 yards and 2 TD's against the Dolphins. In both games.
He doesnt have much of a market out there, he will be one of the late free agent signings. No one is salivating over the thiught of getting Hartline in their roster.
Remodeling the receiving corps as expected. Hopefully these guys are replaced with players who have far better YAC ability.
I want a guy that can separate period, nevermind YAC. hartline was always blanketed even with Wallace stretching the field. hartline sucks
I wonder if he slipped and fell when this news delivered. On a serious note, good luck to Hartline. He overachieved for several seasons and represented this franchise well.
Very true. Still, sad to see the Hitman Hartline go. Goes back to Ireland giving stupid money for what he is.
Good move, great guy. Always liked him but he had to go. The past threads on here we're pretty entertaining when it came to the hartline discussions.
Brian Hartline ran almost as many routes in this offense as Mike Wallace, who was our #1 receiver...yet Hartline came in a distant 4th place for number of targets. He ran about 20% of the WR-TE routes but only accounted for about 13% of the targets. He was not pulling his weight in this new style of offense which does not seem to fit him.
Only reason it was inevitable was because I bought his Jersey when the new uni's came out. I have a long list of ex-Dolphins jerseys now. Anybody want any certain player gone let me know.If I buy their jersey, they`re gone.
Onoz they cut a guy who is overpaid and doesn't fit Lazer's offense and is constantly tackled by air (PFF's #1 Hartline tackler!). Crying Philbin here is about as silly as crying Obama.
Joe Philbin realized that after Brian Hartline had a season-ending knee injury, he had lost a step, and was no longer the same guy who had "back to back 1k seasons".
That should read: "Joe Philbin realized that after Brian Hartline had a season-ending knee injury, he had lost a step, and now began to fall down one step after the catch, instead of two."
I don't even want him as our #5 lol Matthews and Gibson are both better. This gives us a chance to sign Cobb to replace Hartline or draft one of those stud receivers in the first two rounds.
