Ohio State's gameplan was simple vs Oregon, take away his first read he notoriously struggled when teams had the talent and ability to do that which wasn't very often obviously. In the NFL he will rarely find himself NOT going through his progressions and his scheme will always be neutralized. That being said CKap got 100M with that same flaw, but it appears his progression has taken a step back...does MM have the ability to keep getting better? Who knows, I say at worst you are getting a CKAp, and at best something that will become the type of schematic headache that Michael Vick once was.
I think the only plus for Mariota is that he's extremely coachable and isn't going to be an idiot. He shouldn't be (although he might) a year one starter. He needs to sit and learn how to read through his progressions, read the defense, and stand in the pocket. If he doesn't and he tries to use his legs when everything breaks down, he isn't going to be much better than an RG3 or Kaepernick.
Manziel is an addict. Jameis has displayed poor, decision making and poor impulse control. Those aren't fair to compare. Unless the major allegation against him is true. Then that's a completely different story
Looking to move up in the draft by trading picks for picks. Have a bunch of late rounders if anyone is interested. I will be using trade value chart
Pretty much this. I hate FSU. I don't even like Winston as a person due to his choices. That said, he's the best QB on the draft board and has all the tools including football IQ. Easy choice. He's also not a slouch athlete. He can run when he wants to.
if anyone's got some late, expendable draft picks and are looking for some solid, veteran depth help let me know. I'm literally willing to move most of my veterans for next to nothing. I'll probably end up even moving multiple players in a package for just a 6th or 7th maybe. Check out my roster on my team page.
In a few years if you're right we can come back to this. No sense arguing about it now. I'm pretty sure Mariota will be on someone's bench at that time though or on his last chance as a starter.
So, I've been getting interest in Joe Haden. So, I'll field offers for him. I'm looking for strictly picks on this one. FTR, his salary is $11,700,000 ($12,800,000).
If the eagles move up to get Marcus, I think he'll be very much like Russell Wilson. A game manager. Chip Kelly will do wonders for his success. DON'T twist my words, he's not even on the same planet as Wilson, but he can be a pretty good game manager and his legs will allow him to get away with things other qbs can't.
I'm happy to say my offense is more or less complete finally. Of course there are a few minor players I may go after in FA but defense is the concern now.

some more blockbuster deals. Just wheelin and dealin, stockpiling picks and cutting salary here and there.
I expect it to be lower, and level out with dead money. Probably average around 6-10 for the foreseeable future.
I was involved in 2 myself. Lions and Raiders flipped QBs. Not sure if any others, so i guess it's leveling out.
There were probably more high profile QBs getting moved this year, last year what you saw happen was a starter was acquired or traded and then the previous incumbent or backup moved. That happened on a good 25% of QB trades. I don't really see much more movement ahead unless someone just fell in love with one of these QBs and decides to try and move up in the draft.
Yah I still hate that original Bradford trade. That was me panicking just to find any QB. As far as Case Keenum that's just FFG's way of always trying to wring out that last drop of the trade washcloth. If not a backup......her love of 7th rounders I think the proudest one I had was the first. I knew Rivers still had something in him...Luckily he proved me right and it ended up being the perfect time to trade ole Stevie.
Exactly. I cant stand the Criminoles or Semenholes or whatever you wanna call em but damn if that kid isnt good. On a different note Rakeem Cato, Brett Hundley and Bryce Petty are all better QBs then Marriota. Marriota may have intangibles but hes just not a very pro ready qb imo
Wow, that's a ballsy statement...Cato nor Hundley are close to pro ready?? Did Frank Lucas start selling herion in NY again???
I actually thought Mariota looked really good today. 2nd best QB out there behind Winston, although the gap was pretty big. And that's throwing around in shorts. Petty has an fing cannon though. Much better arm than I thought.
Watched the Senior bowl, Petty (and every other QB there) looked like ****. I rather have Mariota than Petty. He's another scheme QB.
They may not be close to ready in your opinion but I have a 4th round grade on Marriota anyway. Only way he does anything in the pros is if Kelly gets him in Philly
