Chris Johnson is now going for a 7th! Solid RB who was misled by the Jets regarding his starting role, looking for a fresh start somewhere else. Can be very effective still.

I wouldn't draft Winston in the first round this year... maybe not even the second. Yeah he's got a decent arm, but everything else is average. everything else... footwork... elusiveness... would love to see where his wunderlich comes back...

Really disagree with this. Arm strength is far from his strength; anticipation, ability to time throws, see the field and absorb everything is off the charts. It's not even close. Best QB prospect since Andrew Luck and second best since I've been old enough to care about the draft. And he's elusive in the pocket (and strong enough to shake guys off when he isn't). Dude is good. Real good.

im pretty sure i know where thats going to be - Who know's maybe he's book smart, but his common sense and maturity is little to none. Plus, the reports of him feeling weakness and pain in his arm. No thank you.

when he's pressured he bails too often, i dont actually think he sees the field all that well. his legs give him the opportunity to see it better, but straight standing in the pocket, i dont agree. I see a little too much JaMarcus Russel in him. Andrew Luck was better than half the NFL qb's by his sophomore season in college, I cant even make that comparison. Plus, his head isnt screwed on tight enough for me. He has talent, no doubt, but i dont see him wokring hard enough for it to translate. Maybr Lovie, can make magic. JMO

He sees the field better than Luck did. It's not even close. What he does is insane. Any comparison to Russel...I don't get that at all. Russel had a big arm, that is it. Winston's arm isn't even that strong. He moves well in the pocket, has a good feel for everything going on around him.

This. Also there isn't another first or second round worthy QB in this draft. After Winston my next best guy is Rakeem Cato, and he's not going first.

I tailor made this offense for his success. Two coaches in Bevell/Philbin who have worked with successful young quarterbacks, the best Kelvin Benjamin copy I could find in Fitzgerald, a big time WR in Thomas, a TE who can stretch the defense in Wright, Allen Robinson and a top RB with what should be a good offensive line.

He has no excuses in Denver.

You have Cato in front of, among others, Mariota? I like Cato but he's barely going to be a day three guy.

Mariota is a bust waiting to happen. I see literally nothing he does that translates to the NFL. I could see him having success under Kelly due to scheme but that's about it. Just my two cents. This is a very weak QB draft.

Cato has more ceiling potential even though there are more polished passers. I'd take him in the 4th personally.

Cato is a good prospect as a long term project, but I have a feeling he will be overdrafted here at the Phins.com GML

He's going to bulk up easily. He's never been part of a major program designed to bulk him up. He's very thin and lean right now, but once he hits an NFL weight room he's going to beef up quickly.

He's going to sit for a couple years before he gets a chance but that will be good for him.

If he lasts until the 5th I may double up on QBs and take him. Or is that a lie designed to get someone else to drop to me :shifty:

I have my sources...people who work out in the gym with him. People who work closely with a coaching staff that treats him like a baby. Hope for his sake he figured out his poop does stink, and people in the nfl aren't going to put up with it. I never once said he wasn't talented. I just can't compare him to Andrew luck.

Basically Bjoern Werner and Chris Johnson for Marquess Wilson, I'll take it. RB and DE depth was needed

Now that I agree with.. part of the reason why I wanted a team with an established quarterback. I kind of liked what I saw from Shane Carden today. Mayock doesn't like him that much but he seemed to have a pretty good release and a nice arm.

I've seen Marcus Mariota throw live a couple times. I've seen Jameis Winston throw live a hundred times. It's not even close. Winston is much better in every category other than athleticism. Go back and watch that Rose Bowl. Mariota was missing open receivers all over the place, Winston was dropping dimes. Granted the game snow balled after the what, 5 or 6 consecutive turnovers, but Winston was not the issue. It's hard to debate otherwise, IMO.

As for his work ethic...I know for a fact that he spends more time watching film and preparing for games than anyone else at FSU has in years. Best study habits of anyone on that team. Also talked to people who have been around a lot of great QBs, the say none have a better understanding of the game than him.

Yeah Winston is better than Mariota. Winston has made throws in a much tighter window. Mariota just kinda throws it in the area of his WR while Winston puts it right in their hands.

Winston outplayed Mariota in the Playoff game. You can see that from the tapes. I can't say too much on his work ethic so I don't know but right now he is a better QB than Mariota and its not even close IMO.
