I understand that we're shorthanded and we don't have a lot of options in the backcourt, which makes it even more infuriating that they're keeping Whiteside on an artificial minutes restriction. Why? No foul trouble. he didnt look tired and they hadn't figured him out. This putz lets a 16 point lead evaporate and turn to a 10 point deficit with Hassan in the bench. I'm completely flabbergasted at Spo right now. And Bosh was pathetic. Absolute hot garbage. Whiteside is better than him right now. If I could only pick one Id take Whiteside without blinking
Nothing about the rotation tonight made sense. How long did we stick with that no Bosh/Whiteside lineup in the 3rd? Stagger the damn minutes if you have to but one of them has to be on the floor at nearly all times.
Just very frustrating. Spo and Bosh just huge goats tonight. Horrendous. I can't even be mad at the other guys. What did expect from Rio, Cole, Granger, etc. But Spo and Bosh are supposed to be good at their jobs
Psh. Dolphins and Heat switching coaches is the way to go. Spo to Dolphins, Philbin to Heat. Problem solved.
I feel like someone in Heat management needs to walk up to Hassan Whiteside and say "I'm sorry everyone around you sucks. You don't deserve this."
Chris Bosh didn't play great but I wouldn't necessarily accuse him of looking washed up or like he wasn't trying. On the contrary he was trying too hard out there to try and be a creator when he's not that kind of player. The whole night there seemed to be a bunch of times when there wasn't anyone on the floor who could move the ball and create for the offense. Just five people all waiting for defenders to pull off them and then for the ball to find them open. I like what Tyler Johnson showed. We've got a few weeks of Wade being out to explore that further. He not only showed the ability to create pressing situations for the defense, but he showed the ability to kick the ball out creatively to facilitate the offense. I don't know why Danny Granger would get a single minute of play for the rest of the season. The guy is hot, stinking garbage. I think they should run a lot more lineups that include Tyler Johnson, Mario Chalmers, James Ennis, Chris Bosh and Hassan Whiteside. This should probably even be their main rotation while Luol Deng is also hurt along with Dwyane Wade.
The rotations were beyond frustrating. Honestly, as long as Whiteside keeps progressing I'll be happy with whatever happens this season. It'll be a quick exit but Whiteside makes every game enjoyable for me at this point.
Spo has got to stop playing Cole. He looks like a chicken with his head cut off, and he's so easy to trap, and his broken shot makes him useless. I thought it was a good TO when spo switched TJ to the point, who impressed me and actually made some plays with Whiteside. TJ should run the point, Chalmers looked better suited as a 2 until our hero comes back, and Ennis should get solid minutes even when Deng gets back. Colemers and granger went 4-27
I'm going to enjoy Whiteside the rest of the year regardless of the results. We're beyond the point of wondering whether this is a fluke. The question now is how good he can be. This guy has All NBA ability. To find a truly special talent like this the way we did was incredible
What's wrong with Mo? He's better than what we have now and we don't have the assets to get somebody better.
Mo is really inconsistent. He really disrupts the flow of an offense by holding the ball for too long. It's annoying. But he does have those games where he'll get you 20. He did spurn Riley twice so idk
There is no move Miami can realistically make that will salvage this season. Miami has NO ONE valuable to use in a trade (well, except for that Whiteside guy...). Just trade Cole for peanuts and Deng for a pick or 2.
Looking forward to getting a new coach in Orlando soon, apparently Vaughn is on the way out. That wouldn't suck at all. We've got way too much talent to only have won 15 games.
Be careful what you wish for though. Scott Skiles is rumored as the front runner for the job. Vaughn isn't a good coach but I'm not sure Skiles is either.
Norris Cole is the master at missing lay ups and bad passes. Holy ****, why do we even give him minutes, the Pistons want him, we're not doing ourselves any favors by playing him, the Pistons might look at him and stay the **** away.
Tyler Johnson in 10 minutes - 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 5 points, 1 steal. He's shown a lot more than Cole has all season. He's a must keep.
Cole also does damage to your eyes...it just hurts to watch that dude sometimes. Johnson's a good spark, keep that energy going.
I hope Napier turns it around but so far I've been wrong about him.. wanted him badly in the draft but he hasn't been productive at all. And its not like he came out of college a freshman...
He's probably going to be a career backup, but he's a decent jump shot away from being rosterable for 10 years.
Yeah, this is kinda where I am too. Might be a long-term rotation guy, might not. But what we do know is that he got drafted in large part because he can shoot. Give him some time to settle into regular minutes with a regular group and see what happens. See if he finds the best ways to get his shot off the bounce/catch/whatever. At this point the offensive upside is worth a shot given your other options. It's not like he's stuck behind Drew Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, and Isaiah Thomas here.
Bosh looked fatigued in the second half. Bricked a bunch of shots and made some really bad decisions.
