Hassanity questionable to return with right ankle sprain.

We'll see if they can get it taped at halftime and have him give it a go

Thank you. The national media is basically the local media of certain markets with much bigger transmitters.

Phil vs Pat is not really a thing. Riley competed at the same level for a longer period, then took another job and won more. Jackson has more rings, but damn, you give me teams with MJ, Pippen, Rodman, Shaq, Kobe, and Glen Rice (:shifty:) and I'm winning a crapton of rings too.

Come on guys... do you know how many players have a condo in Miami? I'd say close to 80% of the NBA owns a condo in South Beach...

80%? No chance. That would mean almost every player on almost every team. I bet it's not even close to that.

The nba is entering a time period with an aging Lebron, an aging wade, Carmelo, cp3 and Durant getting older....best believe they want rivalries where they already exist. Both teams will have cap space. Both teams will have a star or two under contract. I think you're wrong. I think it's headed to a three horse race in NY Miami and Washington.

And Riley had just as many if not more Hall of game quality players he coached in his three stops. When he only had one, in NY it didn't work. When he had 3 with LAL and Miami (possibly) it worked.

Whiteside was on pace tonight for about 40 points, 15 rebounds and 12 block shots.

    Damn it.

Told it is a minor sprain..but you know with Big Men.."Minor" could mean two weeks.

As for Riley in 16'....he will think HUGE. I say he is going after D12 and KD. Or who knows what Bron does.....

I was referring to Bosh as being "possibly" Theres nothing possibly about the other 2. Or Lebron for that matter much as I cant stand him.

I know you were referring to Bosh. I was dismissing your designation of him as a "possibly" by referring to the Heat championship team that Riley actually coached.

Bosh is a first ballot Hall of Fame entrant.

I cannot imagine a scenario in which Riley accepts LeBron back to the Heat. When high powered agent Rich Paul makes that phone call and broaches the topic, Riley responds with hysterical laughter and then faxes over a couple thousand *** photos.

Hassan was really impressive for about 10 minutes before he got hurt. He made the plays a center should make and also some plays you're surprised a center makes. But what I still take from the Whiteside phenomenon (and the Birdman phenomenon of 2012 before it) is just that there are a lot of opportunities for a capable, high energy big man in this program.

I keep bringing up the Birdman thing because my recollection of 2012 was basically that the Heat were a "pretty good" team for half the year, then they acquired Birdman and started playing him more, and then they were nearly unbeatable. I looked it up and they were 31-3 in the regular season when Birdman played at least 10 minutes. Then they went 16-7 in the playoffs and won the Championship.

Very true, but Whiteside, aside from being 10 years younger, is a far more naturally skilled offensive player.

Birdman has always maxed out as a really good role player.

Hassanity's max out is an all star.

I'm not interested in chasing after LeBron or making concessions in how the organization is run to lure him back, but if he called up Riley and Arison and said that he made a mistake and wanted to come back, of course I'd take him.

Remember, LeBron and Riley disagreed as to his future as a basketball player. Riley wanted him to gain weight and play the 4, LeBron wanted to lose weight and stay at the 3. LeBron did the "lose weight and stay at the 3" thing in Cleveland, and everyone agrees he's not having a good year by his normal standards.

I don't see a way to reconcile that.

I didn't know about that. But either way, Lebron had a chance to challenge Jordon for GOAT status, but that ship has sailed. I could see being welcomed back at some point, but it would most likely be in a supporting role when he's no longer the best player in the league.

2016 is so much more of a reach than 2010... it's not going to happen... let's build a deep team, enough with the 3 star system... an old Wade and aged Bosh with Durant is not the same as what we did in 2010... Start collecting and developing pieces and let's follow the Spurs blueprint or even the Suns.

But a Old Wade, with a Aged Bosh, Durant and D12? remember..there will be enough for about 50 million in additional salary.

An increased cap will also mean increased salary, in where a player like Durant and Lebron will be making 40 million per season.

Lebron will retire in Cleveland, wouldn't waste your time asking questions that will never need to be answered.

To all those wondering: That's not a backdrop. This press conference had to be filmed in outer space.

It was the only location deemed apt to contain Pat Riley's testicles.

Last possession, Bosh airball, then Chalmers tries to dribble out to the 3pt line for an awful shot in a 2 point game. Why is this season worth salvaging? Also, on a related note, does anyone have a lower basketball IQ than Mario Chalmers?

Chalmers would make a great open-field tackler. All he seems to be good for nowadays. Just fouling indiscriminately.

This is the second time the last two seasons I've seen this before.

Spoelstra and the entire team decided they don't want to play overtime, either they win or they take the loss and get ready for Friday.

That is so frustrating, and I remember they did the same last year, they just went for three's when they could have taken a better shot to take it to overtime, but they just collectively decide it's just one game, let's go for the win or on to the next one.

    Thoughts?

Did you read your own link?

    I'll recap what he wrote:

Bosh is having a good statistical season. Career highs as a Heat player everywhere...But....the team has been injured, and losing...so therefore...he is failing.

    uh...huh?

So my thoughts are that the writer is a moron that needed a new "hot take".

The guy ranks 3rd behind Demarcus Cousins and Marc Gasol in overall efficiency at Center (among qualified, Hassan Whiteside is #1 ).

There's a small part of me that understands...kinda. They looked dead last night. Totally out-worked on the glass, very poor effort there without Whiteside. But yeah...that Chalmers play was, uh...strangely typical.
