Not that this organization doesn't have its fair share of dysfunction, but this isn't Oakland and Wallace isn't Moss. There's no excuse for tolerating his behavior.

If we're talking about simply giving a half-assed effort on the field so has Wallace.

So would you say that it's beneficial for a dink-dunk offense [that's had success running the ball] to see a Cover-2, especially with the safeties at normal depth not cheating? On a scale of 1-10, how appropriate is a Cover-2 for a dink-dunk offense with a good ground game, a talented slot receiver catching 77% of his 103 targets, and an O-line that's susceptible to pressure? Would it be your first choice of scheme?

    It's neither?

There's a wide variety of coverages underneath you could play on a Cover-2, and even then different techniques within those coverages that are all going to mean different things in this regard. A cover-2 man? That's arguably beneficial to the offense and respectful of Wallace, especially considering the other elements.

A standard Cover-2 zone? Not a particularly advantageous matchup for the Dolphins. You're letting corners play more aggressively in the run game, you're letting the safety play the off-tackle runs that Lamar Miller works well on, and the defense is in position to tackle on shorter pass plays.

I don't know how that play could have been more disrespectful to Wallace. They didn't line anyone up over him pre-snap, didn't bother to jam him(which makes the job much harder for safeties on the route he run), and the linebacker who covered him didn't bother even bother carrying him deeper than his initial depth. They didn't seem to care what Wallace was going to do regardless.

Is this real life?? Randy Moss dogged it in Oakland an entire season, what a hilarious comparison that is. You know who's actions were much similar to Randy's this season?? Brian Hartlines. Who despite being a former Buckeye has turned me completely against him. That's not easy to do.

Difference being, Oakland didn't have a QB worth a dang during Moss's tenure. So, there's a chance that Randy Moss wasn't really dogging it.

lol... Moss was in Oakland for 2 seasons with Nov Turner and Art Shell respectively as HC's each season.

In 2005, Moss had a 33 y/o Kerry Collins and Marques Tuiasosopo at QB. Neither of which completed even 54% of their passes.
In 2006, he had Andrew Walter, Aaron Brooks, and Marques Tuiasosopo at QB. These 3 guys combined only passed for 2850 yards and 7 TDs.

Not exactly anything compelling about those 4 QBs or those 2 HCs to inspire anyone to do more than show up.

I watched the games, I'm sure having a QB that frustrates you plays a role in how you respond. I'm actually proud of Wallace for never saying anything but positive things and claiming "it will get better" in regards to Ryan deep ball woes which ultimately prevents him from excelling, which ultimately leads to some fans getting on his case.

If Wallace acted a 10th as bad as Randy did in Oakland people on this board would go bananas. Terrible comparison.

That's assuming that's not a Tannehill/Wallace problem, rather than just a Tannehill problem.

You're making this into something it isn't. You and I can assume away, but the point of emphasis is does Wallace think he is the problem?? I seriously doubt it.

Just because one think he isn't the problem doesn't change the fact he is the problem or at least part of it, assuming that he is.

Not point fingers or anything. Just trying to keep an open eye on all factors.

That's still missing the point. Mike Wallace and his attitude are what is in question here, he isn't going to believe HE is the issue when he was doing the same thing in Pitt as he is here and that's get open for big plays. So naturally right or wrong that is frusterating for him as a competitor and a guy who feels like he is holding up his end of the bargain.

And yet he has always been politically correct in regards to all the deep ball questions he has gotten the past two years.

Wallace isn't near the ******* some want to believe, I mean a Moss in Oakland comparison?? Agenda much??

Trust me, I know very well that Moss is... Moss. I'm just not going to his tenure in Oakland has evidence for him being that way because Oakland was a very bad situation.

However, if has gotten to the point where he (as alleged) started complaining to Ryan RIGHT after a TD pass was thrown because the pass didn't go his way, though....

That's isolating an incident, and I seriously doubt it was THAT PLAY that set him off but instead the season, game, half and drive prior. No excuse for it ultimately, but some posters (not you) want to fire all the cannons they can at him....then goto other threads and talk about how they would love to have Dez Bryant.

If that doesn't make you giggle not sure what will.

Neither Tannehill nor Wallace are problems, they're just not good enough to make up for the other guys that ARE problems.

Lazor wants to run a balanced, up tempo offense. Impossible to do that w Miller as his only capable RB bc he needs 28-32 carries and LM is only good for 15 or so. Which means more passing, so blame Moreno and the lack of depth behind him. Lazor adjusted to using more short throws and some read option to augment the run game. Then Albert goes down and the pass pro becomes an issue. Defenses werw over playing the short game and betting their pass rush would get to Tannehill before the deeper routes could develop. Teams with good pass rushers were able to do this with much success both this year and last year. Teams with aggressive man schemes also gave us issues. Its no fluke that GB, KC, Detroit, Baltimore, Buffalo, NY, gave us the most problems or that Denver and NE were able to clamp down once Miller reached his carries per game quota.

Randy Moss has never dragged *** to the degree Mike Wallace did here in 2013.

Hartline having a ****ty season isn't even comparable.

I noted that Brian Hartline in 2012 had more deep production than Mike Wallace will have in his entire Dolphins career, or any year since 2011.

Considering the meagerness of what the poster in question has to work with, it's about as good a thing to latch on to as he could reasonably hope I suppose.
