Sorry man, I respect you but this is completely hypocritial of you to say this. Who doesn't come on this thread and complain about what the WWE is doing and how they don't have a clue? You were just complaining a few weeks ago about the lack of blood in matches, no? So don't act like you're not a smark yourself or above the WWE hate.

The company is far from perfect and they have made plenty of mistakes just this year alone especially with the handling of the Network. I think even you would admit that they could/should be doing a lot better in terms of in ring product alone (which is a really big key to their business).

Like CM Punk said, McMahon is a millionaire who should be a billionaire.

I was including myself with that remark. I complain more than most about their storylines.. You took it the wrong way. OBVIOUSLY, they know what they are doing is my point, and they could not care less about smark complaints.

They care about ratings, because it's the tool their ad salesmen use to get even more money from their sponsors.

But trust me, their inventory is SOLD OUT. ratings or no ratings.

My apologies then if I mistook what you said.

We were talking about shareholders, so yeah stock price would matter in that aspect. The McMahons continue to oversell and overestimate things and when numbers come back underwhelming it hurts the value of their company.

But overall expenses are part of it, so you have to factor in the loss of revenue, especially on the PPV buy rate side with the Network. It could possibly be a huge mis-step for the company moving forward.

But if they don't get the ratings, they risk getting dropped from USA and then who knows what would happen. It's very important to them, not something you can just brush off. The fact that they're getting their worst ratings in 17 years is a big deal I'd say.

Their "worst ratings"...is what every other show everywhere would murder for.

If you guys aren't watching the Wrestle Kingdom Shows...you are missing out.

WWE may be the only viable NATIONAL option in the states, but they have some very stiff (pun intended) competition overseas. The best pro wrestlers on the planet are probably names most have never even heard of.

Rollins is great. Ambrose is great...the wrestlers in New Japan? Legendary by comparison.

I am usually the one that ends up defending Vince on this thread since I have a different perspective than the rest of you, due to my background. And while he isn't perfect, I do agree with Section that Vince and the WWE are in the middle of a forced evolution of their product. The expansion of information available to all of us is unparalleled as is the access to content and how that content is delivered. The WWE Network is an absolute success in concept and will be a model for these types of specific networks, moving forward. It is not perfect and has fallen short of a bunch of people's expectations, but if Vince sticks with it, I think it will turn the corner.

The more and more content, distribution and communications that WWE can control/own, the better off they will be.

As for the creative aspect of the show, I would challenge any and all of you to try writing their show weekly and put it up here for others to review. It is extremely easy for us to criticize the result, after the fact, but it is entirely different to try and create sustainable content, pretty much every day. 99.99% of people can't do it.

Also, the bump that Jeff Hardy took the other night looked gnarly. Super dangerous/careless.

I think having to come up with approximately 7 hours of new content per week is incredibly hard and is probably the biggest factor in why the current product has been subpar for awhile outside of a few feuds/angles. Bischoff always mentions that when talking about why WCW run out of juice in the late 90s. I think the main problem is the WWE has what 25 writers writing scripts for the shows and well more than of them are Hollywood writers and have had zero wrestling experience (whether they actually watched the product or were in the business before hand). And really who knows what good ideas are actually pitched but get vetoed by Vince or changed around. Everything is just so micromanaged and scripted now.

I agree 99.99% of people can't do it and unfortunately at times it seems like most of the current writing staff is in that 99.99%. Although what's wrong with simply having a wrestling match because two guys just don't like each other or like the Ambrose/Rollins feud hate each other because one turned their back on them? Not everything has to be a huge soap opera type storyline. Some of the classic feuds weren't these huge backstories. The WWE writers should simply watch some of the old school stuff on their own Network and just steal, I mean recycle, ideas. Especially the ones that proved work. It doesn't have to be rocket science all the time or trying to reinvent the wheel.

Who you guys got winning the Royal Rumble? I'm hoping Daniel Bryan but I have a strong feeling it's going to be Roman Reigns (which I absolutely despise them doing).

Probably Reigns or Bryan. The WWE really wants Reigns to be the next Cena, however I truly don't think he's anywhere near ready in any aspect whether it's mike skills or in ring work. I think right now Reigns would be exposed pretty quickly for his limitations. With Bryan back, I think people really want to see him win the Rumble and the title at WM again as it would make for a great story and really it writes itself, especially if Rollins screws him out of the belt so quickly. I do think that if Bryan doesn't win the Rumble the fans will turn on whoever does ala Batista and I don't think someone like Reigns will be able to handle it, hell Orton flipped out a few times over fan backlash and he's a 10 year plus vet.

I wonder whose hand Dean Ambrose forgot to shake in the locker room. His booking has been strange to say the least. No one knows how to kill a push and heat quite like the WWE.

Rumored main event for "Fast Lane" (the Feb PPV) is Cena/Reigns vs. Rollins/Big Show. I feel like there's some kind of "let's knock the WWE because the writing sucks and they don't know what they're doing" joke but I can't come up with one right at this moment.

It wouldn't really be right to not have the Big Show in a main event, it's just too bad the WWE can't think of a way to get Kane in that match too, but hey there's still time for that fingers crossed.

How bout this...Finn Balor is a surprise entrant at the RR...and he......gets the Reigns "great Rumble performance" push?

Makes perfect sense to me..which means it will never happen.

Lesnar BETTER not lose before Mania. Or I will personally riot.

I don't love bringing in "new" guys as suprise entrants at the Rumble only because the majority of the fans in the crowd don't know who the person is and they generally don't get any reactions so it comes off looking bad on TV. Plus what's the point if Balor is going to be stuck in NXT for at least a few more months before getting called up on the main roster, by that time the fan base forgets about him so it was all done for nothing. Just see Bo Dallas and Rusev when they were surprises in the past few years and immediately sent back to NXT and repackaged. Might as well just give a "legend" the spot for a cheap pop.

I agree with you on Lesnar, however I do have a funny feeling they made it a 3 way to take the belt off of him without him having to lose. Which if that's the case or he doesn't drop the title in the main event then it makes him beating the Undertaker at WM30 even dumber and as now it already looks like a huge huge drop the ball moment for the WWE.

Cena beats Lesnar, Lesnar goes nuts and destroys Cena and Rollins, the Authority comes out and cashes in the Briefcase for Rollins and he is your new champ. Then you can work towards the Shield triple threat at Mania and move Cena on towards Rusev.

Yeah that's pretty much the rumor/theory going around the internet right now, only they have Cena beating Rollins to win the title.

I doubt you'll see a Shield triple threat at WM for the WWE title though, especially how they have been booking Ambrose since the fall, if Reigns wins the Rumble it'll either be Reigns vs. Cena or Reigns vs. Lesnar for the WWE title.

I'll be watching the Royal Rumble. All signs point to the Reigns push continuing, despite the fact that his promos have been terrible and he's pretty limited in the ring. I'll be curious to see how Philly reacts, especially if we come down to Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns. Honestly that PPV will go a long way towards deciding whether I keep the Network or not - the historical content is great, but the current product just doesn't appeal to me right now.

I think if it comes down to Bryan and Reigns the Philly crowd will absolutely destroy Reigns. In fact I think no matter who wins the Rumble, unless its Bryan and maybe Ziggler and possibly Ambrose, I think the fans will boo. I think the WWE really backed themselves into a corner with Bryan returning. He almost has to win the Rumble or the fans will riot like last year. The only way I could see the WWE getting away with Bryan not winning is if Brock loses the title earlier in the night and comes out during the Rumble and eliminates Bryan to put the heat on himself.

As far as the Network, there's just so much old school content on there (and more is coming) to keep me paying the 10 bucks a month. The current product is crap, so much that I barely even watch RAW anymore, didn't even bother watching the Hell in A Cell PPV and barely watched the Survivor Series and TLC ones. I keep updated on the current stuff by reading weekly recaps or watching the WWE's YouTube channel that sums RAW/Smackdown up in 5 minutes.

The arena the WWE was going to hold Summer Slam this year is getting knocked down in a few months so the WWE is looking at other arenas now.

Also Cesaro and Tyson Kidd have been practicing new double team moves at the performance center that they can use in matches that they job to New Day and the Usos in.

Apparently the WWE/USA is bringing back Tough Enough this year. I didn't think the past season with Austin as the host was that bad but apparently the show is getting a complete make over. Should be interesting to see.

Yea, if i'm being rushed into another 12 years of a "5 moves of doom" type wrestler as the face of the company, i'm pretty sure i'm just going to give up watching WWE altogether again. They have fumbled some many times the past 2 years i'm pretty much sick of it all. D. Bryan deserves the RR win after they fudged up his RR last year. Let Roman Reigns win the RR another year, they are rushing this guy too fast, his mic skills sucks, and he singles performances are nothing more then mediocre and his signature Superman Punch and finishing Spear are 2 moves that anybody in the company can pull off.

P.S. If anybody from The Shield deserves the RR win it's Dean Ambrose.

It was originally announced when the Network launched, but it never materialized. I am hoping that if it does come back it's something they put up on the Network, at least on the day after.
