Could the Riddler work as a police detective that comes in from another town to catch the Batman, yet he also has some huge sinistar motive that isn't known to most of the population of Gotham?

 

I would also like to say that I would think it would be a mistake to have the Riddler be just a serial killer. It would make him seem like a copy of the Joker. In my opinion the Riddler should be NOTHING like the Joker. Almost the exactly opposite of the Joker if possible.

Just heard an interesting idea for a 3rd movie from Chris Gore, a movie critic for Attack of the Show.

He thinks they should follow in Frank Miller's footsteps again and fast forward to an older and retired Bruce Wayne. And then have him come out of retirement. I'm not familiar with Miller's comics so I'm not sure there is enough stuff there to make a good 3rd movie out of it. It sounds like a Godfather 3 type thing. It doesn't sound like something Nolan would go after. And I'm just not sure we have seen enough of Batman to fast forward so much.

Interesting thought non the less.

 

That would make a cool movie. I don't think it would fit as much in this universe

yeah i suggested that a few posts back. thats a great series. confrontation with the mutants would be awesome.

 

They only problem with that is Batman retires because he's depressed after the death of his second robin. Dick grayson was the first but he and batman had a fallout. So suddenly the Batman movies have gone from having no robins, to Batman going through two. That is then followed up by a girl taking over the costume of robin and being the third. Granted you could always right it differently, but if you're going to follow the comics you don't want to change them too much.

 

yeah, i suggested it as a complete detatchment from the current franchise.

If I remember correctly that was done prior to Year One and was an outstanding miniseries that brought the long time twisted relationship between the Joker and Batman to a close.

WOW...I really dropped the ball. I would have noticed something like that. But I was just too into Ledger's performance that everybody else on screen didn't matter.
