Not with that contract you shouldnt be....unless you like 7 footers who dont rebound. Nets are the new Knicks...i.e. they do a lot of really stupid things like taking contracts no one wants while giving up assets and not going anywhere. Williams has ankle issues, Iso Joe wanted to go to Brooklyn because "he wouldnt have to do everything" then promptly complained when he wasnt asked to do more. Johnsons shots are still the same but theyre coming at different points in the shot clock. Williams might be the most moveable of the 3 provided his ankles hold up but hes not the same player.
The tank is on in NY. Mark my words, they will have a top 3 pick quality record. Shumpert just dislocated his shoulder. Out indefinitely; could be just the rest of the tonight+weekend or a little longer. Anthony still has back and now knee issues. Id put money he gets shut down at some point when the Knicks are sitting at 13-42 around the trade deadline (and yes theyre that bad). Theres 2 maybe 3 moves I expect around the deadline, maybe sooner: 1. Shumpert gets moved, probably to Atlanta. Thats one of 2 positions they badly need help at. Im hoping for Shumpert and Larkin for Schroeder. 2. Larkin gets moved. Hes not close to being a starter. For 8-10 minutes a night he wouldnt hurt a team. As a starter, holy cow, no. 3. Stoudemire gets moved. Knicks are using him heavily and hes actually not playing poorly. Hes not what he once was but Im sure theres a playoff team out there who can use bench help. Also, Fisher's been getting slammed here by the NY media and fans...i dont think people realize how good a job hes doing. Hes still new to certain things coaching obviously but this team is in most games at the end. They have a bunch of players miscast for this offense, they have no defense to speak of (and Phil knew this when they traded Tyson...he just also knew that the worst spot to be in the NBA is competing for a 7th/8th seed) and a handful of other problems not the least of which is talent.
Dwill Please! We could use JJ. We need perimeter help. I was wondering how soon will Riely resortt to his old trading slf. I remember in the 90s, every few months there was a big trade.
Heat have assigned Shabazz and Hassan Whiteside to the D-League. Am I the only one surprised to see Shabazz assigned?
Whiteside I get. He is a developmental player. Maybe they like what they see out of J-Ham right now. As for Bazz, I think it's just so he can get some consistent PT manning the point and running a team. No question he has the skills for NBA, but I think they want him to be more comfortable being the facilitator night in and night out and get some confidence.
But now you have a short bench with a bunch of injured and/or banged-up players. I get Whiteside if Birdman is ready to return, but I definitely don't understand Bazz.
That's interesting. Bench is really short now, particularly in the backcourt. Unless they plan on lots more Ennis at the 2, Cole, Chalmers, and Wade are going to be logging some serious minutes. I do think Napier was struggling to balance with both Bosh and Wade. They want Shabazz to be aggressive, but when Wade came back it was like SN couldn't figure out where to attack and defer. But still...I don't know. Lots of turnovers, maybe that was the biggest thing. Just seems odd. More minutes for Cole to work with now.
No idea. I do know that Napier's min. were being reduced and they want him playing as much as possible because Riley/Spo believe in playing into development. Remember that the D-League operates much like a Minor league system now.
Robert Covington was a really good pickup by the 76ers, dropped 24 points & 9 rebs tonight. I hated we let him go. D-league MVP...smh
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12028590/charlotte-hornets-explore-lance-stephenson-trade Our good friend Lance Stephenson is supposedly on the block... I'd be very interested in him coming to Miami. His contract is only guaranteed through next season and he's extremely talented. Wonder what Miami could offer for him?
I knew that when he started developing severe blisters on the bottom of his foot that he was compensating for a serious toe injury. Sure enough.....
classic injury caused by a foot injury that doesn't heal.....a meniscus tear. Part of the fault here is on McRoberts for basically lying to staff. There is no way to test his toe for strength if he puts on a brave face. Now, it cost him the season.
So, now what? I think we need to start giving the young guys more minutes and just do the best we can. I might call up Dawkins to replace McBob. The latest news is that Wade is sick again and might not make trip. We are in Kasib Powell and Blake Ahearn territory. We keep that pick if it's Top 10, right?
Depending on how bad the injury to Bosh is, and how bad things get in the inetrim, I think we need to look at trading Deng. He's a good player on a very team friendly contract. He could bring a 1st rounder back from a playoff team
Yikes this got ugly fast. Napier and Whiteside recalled, as you would expect. But yeesh, how much will they really be able to overcome? At least it's the East!
At this point, especially if 2016 is the target, why not tank? It will be hard to out tank the Knicks, Philly and such, but still. We have NO assets outside of Cole and Bird. I'm all for it, to be honest.
Bosh and Wade are too good for this team to miss the playoffs. Two superstars like the Heat have should be enough in the East. Though it'll certainly be interesting. Long season.
DW3 with 21, 4rb and 3a through 3. This roster is so ****ing small, though. Really need a big if we're going to be without McRoberts the rest of the year.
Dalembert is available, but are only real tradable assets are Chambers and Cole. Plus, he's a shell of his old self.
Because getting 5th-6th and getting bounced will get us somewhere? If the big picture is 2016 why not TRY to get assets.
Piss on that. How do you look at Bosh and Wade in the face and tell them to tank? Leave that **** for those losers in Cleveland, Philly, etc.... We are bigger than that.
Exactly. Let's not forget Riley is upstairs in this organization - it's not run by some clowns. The Heat will right this ship and will compete this year. For a title? Probably not, but this is definitely not a freaking lottery team.
