Played a few second halfs i forgot to post, unfortunately one game went to overtime so one of the bets is in danger. I played -4 dallas, -3.5 boston, under 101 boston.. The under is likely not going to cover thanks to two minutes of stupidity by Boston at the end of the fourth when they had the game pretty much in control with an 8 point lead.
2-1 again, noticed that most of my second half losses are from playing the total so i think ill stick with the spread.
Pressure is on me this weekend. I have a 2 win lead on my office football pool. We pick 10 college games against the spread every week. This week there are only 14 games so you can only leave 4 games unpicked. After this week we pick 20 bowl games against the spread, and then that's it. Whoever is on top gets the pot (pretty big $$$). I went with: Houston (+6.5) over CINCINNATI Iowa St. (+33.5) over #4 TCU Temple (-3.5) over TULANE CONNECTICUT (-12.5) over SMU NORTHERN ILL (-6.5) over Bowling Green MARSHALL (-12.5) over Louisiana Tech #14 MISSOURI (+14.5) over #1 Alabama #3 OREGON (-13.5) over #8 Arizona #11 Wisconsin (-4.5) over #6 OHIO ST. #22 BOISE ST. (-19.5) over Fresno St. If anyone has good reasons to not like some of those, I'm all ears.
Not saying this as a homer but tread lightly with Wisconsin, OSU has the DBs to stack the box vs the run and slow the rushing attack down a little. Jones is no Barrett but I saw him twice in the spring and was actually stunned JT got the nod when Miller went down. Ofcourse when your 1st career start comes in a championship game you never can truly gauge the type of play you will get.
My thinking on WIS-OSU is this: 1) This is a third string QB getting his first start in the conference championship game. Let's not overthink this TOO much. 2) My own read on Cardale Jones, right or wrong, is that he's the type of HUGE and physically impressive guy that everyone always falls in love with because of your reaction when he steps off the bus...but that he's a guy that would take time to get going. He doesn't have time.
I like most of them, but I think LT beats Marshall, LT is an offensive machine plus their defense is pretty good. I think Arizona has a shot, they certainly have the confidence to do it since they won the last two meetings. But Mariota is playing for the Heisman and the playoff berth so there's a lot on his shoulders to have a huge game and get this win. Never count out Urban Meyer, he can find a way to win, but -4.5 Wisconsin is the pick I'd go to, if Michigan can run on Ohio State, Wisconsin's offensive line shouldn't have a problem mauling them over. MAC games a tricky, NIU is the better team but you never know what the hell is going to happen.. Last year Bowling Green won beat NIU but they also had a much stronger defense, now they have no defense though they can still score. Still, a tricky line but I'd lean NIU.
Cashed by .5 point. The referees almost screwed me with that ridiculous travel call on Melo and that double dribble call when the Knicks never had possession. Oh well, don't like either teams, I wish they both lost tonight. Glad it cashed though.
So glad ECU lost. I had them -5. They had the worst clock management at the end of the game. They could've kicked a fg and had a 7 point lead but didn't. They ran their qb backwards. UCF wins on a hailmary. Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
I had UCF picked but strategically I re-did my picks and left the UCF game as one of the four I didn't pick, because my closest competitor hadn't picked any games yet and I want to make sure we are picking the same games this weekend.
Interesting because I feel pretty strong about the Marshall and Oregon picks. Especially Oregon. In Marshall's case I think home field will play a big part in this.
Rain is in the forecast and apparently a sloppy field at Levis despite just having replaced the turf. Its rained all week at Levis. Playing under 71.5 tonight small bet
Oregon has faced several third and long situations so far and instead of going for a pass they run the ball. Odd.
If the Jets draft Mariota Im not worried... Ive seen enough in just a quarter and a half to know this guy will struggle hard in the NFL.
90% chance of rain... stay away from the Marshall/LT Total.. both are very explosive but that's a lot of rain coming.. and it's windy
Last time I made a double bet on TCU I lost against a ****ty Kansas team.. don't screw me today TCU... TCU/Iowa State TT over 14.5 first quarter for +115
That's going to burn for a few months for Bob Stoops. Now his team will likely play some bowl game from some car wash sponsor. Sheesh, last year all for nothing, improved second year Trevor Knight, playoff hopes, and now not even top 25
Urban Meyer is seriously too damn good... Just plug anyone at quarterback and he will have them playing way beyond their own ability and expectations. Shouldnt surprise anyone though since he did win in Florida with a fullback at quarterback, but god he keeps doing it over and over again.
Need temple to get any score... I dont see how you dont play with some urgency... A bowl game is on the line
