Please save all the talk about we haven't made the playoffs yet. Assuming we do, there is only one team I fear on the AFC side, the Chiefs. They keep improving their lead on us in pass defense, and their pass rush is a problem for us. I hope we have learned from our game against them when we got our butts kicked. They are just a bad match up for us.
I don't know I necessarily fear a specific team, but I'd be very wary of having to play at Denver, again. I'd be wary of playing at New England, again. I'd be wary of playing Kansas City regardless of location due to their pass-rush and the fact that Miami's got Dallas Thomas at RT, meaning he'd square up against Justin Houston. That's a disaster waiting to happen. I wouldn't like giving Peyton Manning or Tom Brady an extra week to prepare for Miami, especially if it's a scenario of getting revenge for Miami having beaten them once, or possibly twice in case of New England. I think Miami can go into Cincinnati, Indianapolis or even Pittsburgh and come out winners.
Chiefs are overrated. ask any Chiefs fan, none of them believe they will make it very far in the playoffs. I'd love a rematch with them. They have one good player on offense only two teams I fear (on the road): Denver and New England.
Even though I know we can beat Denver and New England, I know it won't be easy on their home field. We will obviously get a taste of that in the regular season, but thinking about doing it twice to each team on their home field is something I don't want to think about. If we can manage to have home field advantage in the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised to see us in the Super bowl.
Playing the Broncos in Denver in the playoffs would scare me the most, that would mean they would have to lose to us twice at home in the same year.
It is such a shame we have never beaten them. Even their first year as a team I believe we lost to them, that was a big slap in the face. Are we the only team that has never beat another team?
We did beat them in the first game at Reliant Stadium, too bad it was a preseason scrimmage. And David Boston blew out his patellar tendon in practice the day before the scrimmage. I did get Zach to sign my 54 white jersey and JT signed my hat, so that was cool. Also got to have a quick chat with Sammy Morris.
I fear nobody... but the team that can beat us is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lets face it, if our defense is on, we can beat anyone. So I have to look at the opposing offenses... Of all the teams in the AFC, the team with the best balanced attack is the Steelers. Bell can kill you in the ground game. Ben can kill you in the passing game. And once they get the lead, that defense will blitz you to death.
No-one really scares me. We can beat any team in the NFL if we bring our best game. Elite defenses bother me for sure.
So would I.. That team just has so much experience there.. And home or away they are hard as hell to beat once they get in
FWIW Chances are both of us would have to be wildcard teams. So that means we'd have won two playoff games already. I'll take it.
If they win their way into the playoffs, then nobody. That backing in bull**** always bothers me. If you're scared, buy a dog.
You mean Captain Checkdown? While I admit he's a good QB, he's 3rd tier at best. that still puts him slightly above average. I'd put Tannehill in same tier, but actually higher than Smith. My hope is that Tannehill can keep progressing to 2nd tier while Smith never will.
I like our chances to finish the regular season @12-4 AFC East Champions with Home field advantage throughout the Playoffs.Thank You.
My only fear is that we give away the first half of the game. We've done it too much this year, but if we play a full 60 minutes, we can take down anybody.
The only time I ever feared a team in the playoffs was Baltimore in 08. other than that never. And no one this year as of now. Only time I can think I may have been worried was the Jets AFCC mud bowl game because the announcers kept on saying that one team had never beaten another team 3 times in one year. Well we know how that turned out.
Off topic, I just ate a bowl of New England clam chowder. This means the Lions are beating the pats today.
