Yeah, really. It was a stupid thing to do because it could have affected his availability and the game itself. All so that he could throw a temper tantrum? Gotta be better than that. And it does make you look a little more critically at some of his cheap shot fouls of the past being a result of his lack of emotional control. Then blaming the fabric afterward? Come on. Certainly something I'd keep an eye on. Not saying he's Lance Stephenson or anything.
That's the point Avery Johnson was trying to make about their experience. Which team is going to play in the final few minutes? The Heat have that experience level with Wade, Bosh, Deng, Chalmers, Cole, Haslem and Andersen. And quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised if the experience didn't come into play that much and they went to the ECF simply because they're the best or second best team out there.
Really you guys over analyzing McRoberts shirt tear incident? Come on now. There's no need to try to read into it or make some crazy narrative of it. We all know McBob is a competitive guy and has a bit of a nasty streak to him on the floor. The fabric comment was more jokingly than anything if you actually saw the interview.
I don't get how he is a diva. He was mad at himself and ripped his jersey like Hulk Hogan, it wasn't like he was mad at a teammate and then ripped his jersey.
I don't even think he intended to rip his jersey. He said it himself he pulls the jersey like that all the time and this is the first time is has ripped like that, which is when he joked about the fabric and needing to get used to a new one, which was a joke btw, he laughed, the reporters laughed.
Uh...Chris Bosh..... Has been Named Eastern Conference Player of the Week. Yep. BTW..quietly...Deng is at 15 ppg on 57% shooting? You know, a guy that I respect GREATLY and a guy I consider to be a brilliant basketball mind as far as analytics go.....told me that he considers Lebron James a Succubus. He says that Lebron can only really play ONE WAY and that is to dominate the basketball at the expense of teammates totals/Usage. Basically...that there is Little to Zero evidence that Lebron James has EVER made ANYBODY better. He is just a force of nature that can impose his will through his great skill to "tip the scale" enough to make your team win. If you don't believe me (this guy showed me vast evidence), try to name ONE guy that actually improved while playing with Lebron. What I am getting so far through 3 games is that Record Setting Miami Heat Offense was not due to Lebron James. It was due to overall Talent (First), Spectacular and Innovative Coaching (Second), Lebron (Third).
Over/Under on the amount of games before LMeister coins the nickname "Luol Dong" Also don't make McRoberts angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry. His name was James McRubert until he was blasted with gamma radiation. Now the world thinks he is dead, and he must let them believe he is dead until he can cure the rage that dwells within him. True story.
The type of players IMO, that are more productive (I don't know that I'd say he made them better) because of LeBron are spot-up shooters. A guy like Rashard Lewis probably is out of the league or at the end of someone's bench unless there is a guy like LeBron drawing everyone in and leaving him alone in the corner. Other than that, I can't really think of anyone.
Didn't Dwyane Wade end up being a lot more efficient than he used to be when LeBron came to town? I mean, the theory is sound. It's why I consider it a heck of an accomplishment that the Heat fit stars like Wade, Bosh and James together and made it work as well as it did. There was a lot of skill that went into that, a lot of coaching, and a lot of championship caliber temperament.
not if wade can help it. he tends to "show up" vs. harden, and bosh has his career high vs. D12. I expect a GREAT game.
No. Wade was much more efficient and on par with lebron when he got here. Wade increased his scoring efficiency but his usage, and per dropped.
It can happen if the bulls are short handed, the cavs don't gel, or someone sleeps on the Heat. I don't think it would happen based on talent unless Wade goes HAM and throws it back to 2006.
You don't think it possible that guys like Luol Deng, Chris Bosh, Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole are just better than people think? It has to be that Dwyane Wade plays like it's 2006? I mean, they're 3-0 right now and Wade's PER isn't anything to write home about.
Chalmers and Cole imo are very average. Theyre supporting players. You need stars to play like stars in the playoffs. Its proven over time three things win in the playoffs: Field Goal % against, Blocked Shots, and Free Throw Attempts (meaning those are the three most common denominators amongst Finals winning teams). Chalmers and Cole arent helping 2 of those 3. Deng could definitely help. Wade playng the way he used to can definitely help because of the FT attempts and because the Heat will need a go to scorer in perimeter isolation situations.
Chris Bosh certainly is better than people think. I think Deng was unhappy with the trade to Cleveland and took half the year off, he was a pain in the *** on the court when he was in Chicago.
Lakers, Jazz, Celtics, 76ers. Not saying Houston isn't a good team, but let's see what they can do against some better competition.
Three things the Heat was terrible at for the last 4 years. The Most important Team Indicators for Playoff success in order are: Offensive Efficiency True Shooting Percentage Defensive Efficiency Defensive Rebound Rate Turnover Differential Pace 3 pt. FG% for/against differential
If you want to create your own power rankings that are remarkably accurate, I will teach you guys..... Take those indicators..average out the rating for the top 4. Take that number and weight it twice as much as the last 3 indicators. Then come up with a total average. The Higher the number rank..the "Better" the team. If you took last years rankings and did this, you woudl come up with this list.....(tell me if it's accurate) 1. San Antonio 2. Miami 3. OKC 4. LAC 5. Houston (Indiana was 6th)
They may be average overall but they have things they are both extremely good at. Also so far this year we are seeing that with a little bit of freedom they are probably better than people thought. Honestly so far this team has been more enjoyable to watch with the offensive ball movement than when Lebron was here. I'm not saying we are better off, but as a fan its nice seeing them play as a team without one ball dominant player eating up most of the clock.
Eh...while last few years offense would sometimes gets stagnant...Flying Death Machine was worth it when it was 100% engaged. I can't agree with you there.
I haven't been able to watch them yet this season, but from the descriptions they sound more "Spurs-like". It doesn't sound like the D is there yet, but I expect that the return of Birdman and UD would help that significantly.
I think the team was a little tough to watch in 2010 because the ball movement sucked. But from 2011 to 2013-14 the team was very enjoyable to watch with LeBron playing. Ball movement was great. And especially in 2011-12 and 2012-13, there was a LOT of athleticism on display, a lot of fast breaks...the proverbial "flying death machine" as TiP54 says. I don't know about 2014 yet but I thought they were a lot of fun to watch from 2011-14.
Yeah it was worth it for sure. I'm not downing those teams because they were deadly and exciting. However I just love the ball movement this year. Even if the team isn't as talented its nice to see them look hungry, not coast and so on. Its also nice to see Bosh on a whole new level with the team playing like...well...a team. We will certainly miss Lebron. I wish we could have played this style with him.
I also won't lie....I'm enjoying not being a favorite every game and getting trash talked when we stumble. It was pretty nerve wracking and frustrating even as a fan. I just want to enjoy this season to the fullest before we build our next dynasty.
