I'm laughing as I'm reading some of the power rankings. Some are putting the Heat as one of the last two seeds in the playoffs and some are saying we won't make it all. Most are predicting an early 1st or 2nd Round exit if we make it. First off, no we're not near as good as we were but we're also not dead in the water, not even close. We have enough pieces to compete. We might not be Finals worthy at the moment but we're not garbage. Not to mention, the Raptors and Wizards are on fluke watch this year. There's a chance Chicago could lose Rose again or he won't be the same after missing so much time. Gasol is also a question mark for them. Indiana is going nowhere with no one. Brooklyn is broken. Knicks don't scare anyone. Even Cleveland being the current creme de le creme of the East, they're gonna take a while to gel. So IMO the East is still weak and anything is possible.
I dont think theres any real question about Pau Gasol. I think that was a brilliant move by Chicago and they will probably win the east and possibly a championship because of it. IMO the seeding will look like this: 1. Bulls (Division Winner) 2. Wizards (Division winner) 3. Nets (Division winner) 4. Cavs 5. Heat 6. Raptors 7. Hawks 8. Charlotte West: 1. Spurs 2. Clippers 3. Portland 4. OKC 5. Dallas 6. GSW 7. Denver 8. Phoenix
That was awesome. This is an organization that just gets it. I keep saying this, but why can't Mickey just buy the Dolphins. Things would be different. I can't wait for tomorrow night.
Parson's - 5 points the entire game Lin - 0 points at halftime Why again did the so called 'experts' pick us as having the worst offseason in basketball because we got rid of them?
I really don't think it would make that big of a difference. Pat Riley is the reason why the Heat have been and are successful.
Sorry for bragging - But just scored Cavs opening nights tickets. Also my wedding anniversary - wife is freaking out. So pumped. Place is going to be absolutely insane. I've been to lots of playoff games, etc, but have a feeling the energy tomorrow is going to be insane.
Oh boy. Somebody fell for the Chicago Hype....again. I need to see Derrick Rose holding the Larry Obrien, while Joakim Noah pinches me to make sure I am not dreaming, to believe that they can do it.
I could see the Bulls being the top seed as the Cavs take time to gel and the Heat coast a bit in the regular season (and the Raps/Wiz/Hawks just aren't there, yet.) I'll go - 1. Bulls 2. Cavs 3. Raps 4. Hawks 5. Heat 6. Wiz 7. Hornets 8. Nets And like I've said before - it's not that I discount the Heat in the playoffs - just think guys like Deng and Wade will need some nights off and there isn't a ton of depth behind them. They'll be a nasty out in the playoffs, just don't think the regular season is all that important to that team.
It's all predicated on roses health but that was a 45 win team without rose and Gasol so it's easy to see how they could add 10-12 wins on that with two offensive players better then they had. Gasol in particular will make life a lot easier for Noah as he's a better all around player then Boozer. If Rose is close to what he was, that team is legit especially for the regular season grind.
I do. First of all, it was Arison who brought Riley in and has kept him here this whole time. Everything in this organization is first class, and you hear that from players. The way they go about business is just different than the rest. I have very little doubt that Arison would turn things around for the Dolphins. He'd bring in the right people and give them all the resources they need to do their job without any mingling from Micky. From the tweets (and being the only owner to bash Sterling immediately and publicly), to the promotions (like that excellent video), to keeping around the people who built the Heat to what they are today, he just does everything right IMO.
Bosh with a monster first half. 3/4 from 3, 19 points, 5 reb, 2 assist.. in 19 minutes. He's just a supporting guy, though.
Bosh is so ****ing good. Won't take long for people to remember what a centerpiece he can be with that kind of role and volume and touches. Damn.
I knew we'd see a nasty ennis dunk sooner or later, but not that nasty and not that soon. Holy **** the crowd went wild
Sick stuff from Ennis. Then Napier picks Wall's pocket and finishes on him. Damn. Rookies get them on a little run and stretch the lead...that's just cool.
Wade, Bosh and Cole down the stretch have been great. Offense looks pretty smooth for the first test run. Can't wait to see McRoberts injected in.
Man that game was FUN!!!!. If this is how the season will play like, we're in for a fuuuuuuuuuunnnnnn season folks! Bosh beasting out there. 26 pts 15 rbs 50% shooting. But meh, overpaid and overrated. Wade 21 on 50% and Cole 23 on 60%! Now imagine McRoberts instead of that scrub Shawne Williams who couldn't ****ing buy a bucket today.
If Shawne Williams had even a mediocre game this could've been a blowout. Bosh played great all-around, Wade came through in the clutch after a scare, Cole had his best game in a Heat uniform. Ball movement was great. Love the first look at the new squad.
