Interesting Power Rankings/Very Favorable To The Dolphins

Things like power rankings mean nothing to me. They just give fans something to debate about.

 

This is not really a power ranking in the way you are thinking, the results are based completely on an objective mathematical formula. It might even be possible to have an 0-8 team as the top ranked team in some bizarre scenario.

Someone had to devise the formula though, and how that came to be would be subjective, right?

 

Probably so but its nice to get an atta boy every now and then.

 

I suppose. I don't think this guy manipulated the formula to make the Dolphins look good though, it seems like he uses it for gambling purposes.

 

Not necessarily. He likely could have just run a regression model, and the formula is a result of that model.
