    LOL at espn player rankings.

Mike Conley is better than Dwyane Wade.

If that's ever going to happen with him, the time is now. He's never been in a better opportunity to be a guy that they can go to for periods of time. He has shown spurts of it in the past, but hopefully whatever happened to his confidence in the playoffs last year, he can build it back up now. Honestly, the most ideal spot for him is as the Heat's 6th man. He's not really a natural point guard, but if he could turn into something like a Jamaal Crawford-lite, that would be huge for a team that will need guys that can score this year.

Ennis is going to be more the Jamaal Crawford type: comes off the bench and just fills it up, can score from anywhere, can create his own looks, might be a bit of a ball-stopper/high-volume guy but you can live with it. He'll be the main offensive spark off the bench imo.

They're going to need Chalmers to to play really well so Wade can get enough rest. Especially if they decide to plan a light maintenance program for Wade. There isn't a true backup two-guard, so that's the real value of Chalmers, imo, where he has to step up. Spo has to have strong, reliable Wade-less lineups.

Game 4 vs. OKC in the Finals......Lebron goes down with his hammy...and Rio goes nuts down the stretch to beat the Thunder.

But yeah, he looks great. Looks faster, slimmer.

Ennis is a more complimentary player than Crawford is. Crawford can be a focal point.

As for backup #2...Shannon Brown is gonna be fine in that role. he has been great this preseason.

There will be NO maintenance program this year. Last year was due to coming off of Knee treatment and rehab.

I don't really see Ennis as that type of player. I think ideally he is more of a Leonard-type (like Section has said before). Crawford is a guy that comes in and is instant offense. I don't know that Chalmers will ever be that, but hopefully he can at least do that a bit.

Wow, the only way they could make that worse is adding Skip Bayless. Those are literally the three people at ESPN I like the least.

I expect some good play from Rio this year. With Norris and Shabazz waiting in the rear, I think Rio will produce and come through in big moments like he has throughout his career. He's an underrated player and will finally get some room to shine in this offense this year.

Right, I'm not trying to go from A to C by skipping B. I'm not trying to say he's about to explode this season or that he's one of the best PGs in the game, or some nonsense. I'm just saying that for whatever that time period was, about a quarter to two quarters, I think that may literally be the best I've ever seen him play. And that's kind of cool, in its own right.

Im not sure thats as out there as you want to believe. Conley is a top 5 player at a loaded PG position (Probably behind CP3, Westbrook, Parker, and Curry). Wade is the best SG right now at a position that is pretty mediocre throughout the league. Im not sure what the rankings are based on but if age and health are factored in at all, its pretty close. You can argue position scarcity in defense of Wade but you could also argue Conley has the tougher challenge every night facing better players then Wade because of the strength of his position facing the players I mentioned, Rondo, Williams, Lowry, Dragic, Bledsoe, Kyrie, etc. Mike Conley is a very consistent player and hes good on both sides of the ball. If hes doing it based on last years WAR rankings Conley wins hands down. If hes doing it based on what he thinks will happen in this years PER then Conley or Wade could win. If hes doing it based on last years PER then Wade would scrape by.

    http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm
    http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/year/2014

Jamal Chuckford should NEVER be a focal point. He may have the ability to be a focal point and 2-3 times a year when hes hitting all the weird shots he takes he can be but hes too inconsistent and wild to ever seriously be a focal point

Ughh ESPN programming keeps sinking to new lows. Remember when they actually televised sports on ESPN instead of stupid garbage?

It was unreal. Luckily I think that idiot is on the way out of ESPN. Also notice how they put Michelle Beadle at the very end and let her talk a bunch of writtten crap for ten seconds to hide the fact that she knows really nothing about sports.

I was ripped for suggesting Conley was a top 5 PG, I think it's a worthy discussion at the least.

And can anyone tell me the real difference between Jamal Crawford and JR Smith? I see the same damn player.

Cavs Big 3 have barely played together and the coach is running a complicated system. Their defense is still a disaster. There's no real chemistry yet and Dion Waiters (love you) is firing up more shots than any of the Big 3.

    I wouldn't say it's completely far fetched.

Growing up in South Florida in the 90s, all I know is the media bashing my teams and their (mostly) Northeast biased reporting. To them, we probably didn't deserve Marino, Ricky Williams(but I'm sure they were ecstatic about his early retirement), and I'm sure they say the same about Mike Wallace. I grew up during the apex of the rivalry we had with New York, Dolphins/Jets and Heat/Knicks. It used to piss me off that we used to get so much disrespect from the media. I'm content with it now, knowing it'll never change. LeBron coming here and producing titles with us didn't change it either. So even if the Dolphins got their stuff together, we still won't get the same kind of favorable coverage other teams are used to. The Cowboys have been as incompetent and mediocre as we have been yet still they mostly get positive coverage. Same with the Knicks, who are a clown car show. I just accept it and move on. The national sports media scene is made up of talentless hacks anyway with a few exceptions.

I really hope our idiot coach plays Isaiah Canaan at backup PG tonight and the rest of the season. I am really afraid he may go with Jason Terry, which is flat out stupid. Canaan is just a playmaker, who I could make a case should be starting.

Canaan, Papanikolaou, and Motiejunas should see good minutes all year if Kevin McHale has any interest in being a top seed in the West.

Jamal Crawford is a smarter offensive player with a better handle. Also a MUCH better passer. JR Smith competes on the defensive end better. Crawford is the better player.
