Saw that recently. Tommy Lee Jones was really great. Between that and No Country For Old Men, I hope he continues this streak of taking on roles where acting is required rather than over-acting like he has sometimes had to do in the past. He was a pleasure to watch and the best parts in those two films.

Very True. He's very good at bringing depth to characters. I thought No country for old men sucked but he was very good in it.

As I said before, "as he has had to do in the past" I don't think his Two-Face performance was his own choice, it was Schumacher's terrible directing.

What do you mean very quickly? It came out Feb 22, and just came out on video last week. That's 4 and a half months.

Live Free or Die Hard came out 5 months (1 week less actually) after its theatrical debut. The Bank Job was a really good movie and it's time between theatrical release and video release was less than Vantage Point. 21 will be only about 4 months from theatrical to video release. Casino Royale only had 4 months between theatrical and video release.

So I disagree with it coming out "Very quickly," and even if it was very quickly then it is no different from most movies.

Why? The acting sucked. The story sucked more. The action sequences didn't even make sense. Sure the robots looked cool, but without the other things, why not just have a collection of vignettes that showed them transforming back and forth? Name one redeeming quality besides cool looking robots and hot chick, that you could just easily see on the internet?

This movie was typical Michael Bay trash.

The story sucked? What sucked about it? I was actually surpised at the story. At least it wasn't just about robots coming to Earth to take over the planet.

Just because it is a summer ACTION blockbuster flick, does that equally mean it sucks? Will The Dark Knight suck? How about Iron Man?

I don't see how you can claim that the action scenes didn't make sense? Do you have an example?

Just because it isn't an oscar nominee does not make it a bad film. It is what it is, which is a fine example of the genre of films that it belongs to. A great action movie with great special effects, some humorous moments included.

And also, to say Michael Bay's films are typically trash to me shows that it wasn't mentally deep enough of a movie for you.

Um, that's actually all the story was about. What else did you think it was about?

Wow. Jump the gun, Captain Defensive. I'm not hating on action flicks. Just action flicks that suck. Iron Man was easily one of the best movies I've seen in awhile. Why was it so good? Because it had a great story, great acting, and the action had reason. All things Transformers did not.

Well, they didn't. I think it was a combo of the writing and the editing. The first example I can think of, is in the city towards the end. None of it really made sense, but specifically why did he have to get to that specific white building? Or in the aqueducts how could OP hide under a bridge, when they just had him practically surrounded? They don't see a 30 ft robot swinging like a monkey? Just really stupid incoherent stuff.

Seriously, you've got defensive issues. I guess I'm not allowed to dislike a movie that has action it. So, I guess every movie that has explosions is a great movie and should just like them?

I actually happen to like action movies, just not bad ones. here are some examples of movies that aren't mentally deep, that I consider some of my favorites: Indy 1-3 (haven't seen 4), Rundown, True Lies, Mummy 1-2, Batman Begins, Iron Man, Spiderman 1-2, Unleashed, Lethal Weapon 1-4, Die Hard 1-3 (haven't seen 4), etc.

Also before, you start in on the nostalgia factor, I grew up when Transformers first hit the scene. I had an original OP that I got for Christmas the year they came out. I even remember Go-Bots. I watched the cartoons and everything. So I know all about the nostalgia.

Sorry, but Michael Bay movies have always sucked, and Transformers was no exception. In fact, it was a shinning example of why his movies suck.

So the back story of the Transformers' home planet's demise wasn't at all part of the story? The fact that Megatron had originally wanted to take over the Earth, and the Autobots originally just wanted to find the cube, but now are here to protect Earth from the Decepticons. The back story of Shia Lebouf's family history including his gradfather who originally found Megatron. Just like all comic book movies we were introduced to the characters, learned how they came about and why they were here. To say that the story sucked is to say that the Transformers have always sucked. That is basically the original history of the Transformers.

Well that is one example in a movie full of action scenes. To say they all didn't make sense is a tad bit of exaggeration dontcha think?

Yeah I guess I do seem a bit defensive. I'm not saying all action movies are great. They clearly are not. But I doubt you'd find 10 people on this board that would say Transformers sucked. You are definitely in the minority here.

Talk about action scenes that don't make sense.

Rundown : the Rock doesn't use guns, yet he takes out basically a whole army without a gun. Then he finally gives in and takes the rest of the army out with 2 shotguns. Cocking them with one hand, and using each of the barrels to **** the other.

All of the Indy films: Unrealistic action scences throughout. (although I love the movies, but anyone could say that the action didn't make sense.)

All of the Die Hard movies has great action. And all of them are totally unrealistic, which IMO would mean they don't make sense. That doesn't make them bad movies though.

so for the record you are saying that the following movies sucked?

    The Rock
    Armageddon
    Bad Boys
    Bad Boys II
    The island

Dude, all the story was about was the take over of Earth. His family's history was a plot device to link his character to the story. It was nothing more. The rest of things you talked about are all plot points that lead to robots trying to take over Earth. I really don't see an argument here.

Actually I gave you more than one scene, but whatever. You clearly agree with me, because you couldn't argue it. You had to accuse me of something instead.

Yes, you are being defensive, and for no good reason. I don't know why me thinking the movie was horrible, has any reflection on you. Also, I could care less how many people do or don't agree with my opinion about that piece of crap movie.

Talk about action scenes that don't make sense.

See what you did there? You started off with action scenes that didn't make sense and went right into unrealistic. Not sure why you feel the need to defend this so much. Are Michael bay's cousin or something? Regardless, I thought the movie sucked and gave my reasons for it. You're telling me my reasons for not liking it are wrong, which is pretty silly.

I'm glad you felt the movie was the best thing ever, so much that you'd challenge anyone who doesn't think so. Really, good for you. I still hated it, and hate all the other Bay movies you've listed. Notice you left off Pearl Harbor. I guess you thought that movie sucked too? Why? It had explosions and other action.

What? What did I accuse you of?

It doesn't reflect on me at all. I didn't know that I was not allowed to post my opinion on a public message board. I'm not trying to convice you to change your opinion, but I just started a small debate instead. Jesus, you're getting so offended its kinda funny. Relax, I'm not mad at you because our taste in movies is different.

I guess I didn't make it clear enough to you that IMO unrealistic action scenes are nonsensical. Again, that doesn't necesarily make it a bad movie. I have plenty of movies that I like that are full of unrealistc scenes, and you named quite a few.

    1. No I'm not Bay's cousin, and I'm not sticking up for him. I'm just curiously asking if you hate all of the other Bay films that I mentioned.

    2. I didn't challenge you to anything. I asked you to explain your statements is all. For Christ sake. Guess what, I could care less about alot of movies that alot of people like, but I don't get offended when people tell me that they liked the movie. I'm not telling you to like Transformers, I could actually care less what you like. I just haven't heard anybody say that before you. Is it so shocking to think I could ask a few questions that led you to your opinion then?

    3. Yes Pearl harbor sucked IMO, but mostly because it should have been more in the style of Saving Private Ryan or Band Of Brothers.
