My single biggest concern with Philbin is the lack of motivation shown by the players. I refer to my original comments about tackling and drops. Then I would say my nect biggest concern is that he just seems to let coordinators coordinate and I dont see evidence that he makes any changes.

If he that he wanted to avoid a controvesy he could have said that he never makes comments about starters and he wont answer any questions on who will start.

I respectfully disagree that Philbin gave a bland answer to avoid a controversy. The tone and nature of the questioning in the press conference after his first answer should have made it clear that he was creating a story. The fact that there was a huge story that night afterward and that he STILL stuck to his guns on it seems to completely obliterate the argument that Joe was trying to avoid a controversy with that answer.

I have supported Joe Philbin for two years. I have tried to find the positives and forgive him for some negatives. I have tried really, really hard to be in his corner. But this is the point at which I can't do it anymore.

What the heck is the man thinking?

Joe is taking the fast track on putting himself in a position to force the team's hand when they likely don't want to terminate him within the season. He is giving them ammunition much like a baseball manager tells an ump to throw him out of the game. Problem is taking Joe out the equation might actually loosen up the guys vs. setting a fire under them.
