    Gamespot link.

There's a seven minute video and decent article on Gamespot but I'll try to provide a tl;dr. The next game is set between Borderlands 1 and 2 (hence the name "pre-sequel") and is being developed by 2k Australia. The most interesting thing is this is not a PS4/Xboxone game, this will be on the PS3/Xbox360/PC. The four playable characters are ones that have been seen before and include: Claptrap, Nisha (Sheriff of Lynchwood in BL2), Wilhelm (if the name sounds familiar, he's also from BL2 and was a big robot but is more of a cyborg in this game), and Athena (Crimson Lance member seen in BL1). The game's setting is Pandora's moon and there will be lower gravity and an oxygen meter, which introduces new mechanics and will come into effect when you're outside on the surface. Another new thing is a new type of ammo that allows you to freeze enemies. Game is expected to be out this fall.

Gonna be awesome! It's just too bad it likely won't be as big of a game as Borderlands 2.

I'm happy it's coming out. My thoughts are:

    1. If it's not going to be as big as Borderlands 2 (which I cant imagine it will be), I hope it's not $60
    2. If it's not going to be as big as Borderlands 2, why couldn't this be DLC?
    3. I have no reason besides my own speculation to think it won't be as big as Borderlands 2, so maybe I should shut up.

As for not being able to be DLC, it's probably along the lines of the expansion for X-Com where they couldn't do it as DLC because it's too big even though not as big as the "main" game. Also, it could be as big as Borderlands 1, and that was $60.

Seems like a cash grab to me. Re-use the engine to strike while the iron is hot with a loyal fan base. Something has to make up for the Alien debacle. That is why it won't be on next gen consoles. Re use the same engine, create 4 new characters with new skills (Claptrap, OMG OMG OMG have to buy it now), add low gravity environments, a long campaign with undoubtedly a full plethora of DLC, and cash in the cheques.

I'm not going to play. I thoroughly enjoyed BL2, but got fed up with the legendary loot drop rates (farmed Bunker 50+ times and didn't get the B!tch smg or any of the custom heads), and the fact that teramorpheous was cheap as hell and nearly impossible solo. Didn't even get any of the DLC and have no interest in it. Not even when it was a steam sale item.

    Happy looting!

PS. Serious about the Claptrap thing. You'd be surprised how many people have Claptrap or even BL tattoos. Really...

The Tiny Tina's Dungeon DLC was the best part of either game or DLCs.

Are you a big Alien fan? It's my favorite movie, and couldn't bring my self to play A:CM. Looks like that was a wise choice. How do you feel about Alien:Isolation? Looks pretty awesome to me depending on how they fill the gaps in the story they've proposed for it.

Not an alien fan at all. I just know the problems they had with the game. Misrepresenting a lot of things. Releasing a demo that was nowhere near the quality of the final game, making promises that weren't kept, and all in all producing a real crappy game. Very shady.

Haven t seen anything on Isolation.

Probably not as exciting as a new game on next-gen instead of something very close to BL2 on current-gen, but I'll still mess around with it. I played BL1 solo then me and a friend did all of BL2 together and it's fun just going through a game together, will look to do the same with this game.

Sounds like a game that won't be worth playing until it's 10 or 20 bucks.

I'm playing Borderlands 2 now and loving it. Paid $6.99. :shifty:

A game is either worth playing or it isn't IMO. Now, at what price it is worth buying at is debatable IMO. Personally, I'd have gladly paid more than $60 for the experiences I ultimately had with Borderlands 1 or 2 (luckily I didn't have to).

/me looks at the 191 hours that Steam has him on with Borderlands 2 and thinks he's all bordered out.

I agree with that. And a game worth playing is almost always worth full price. But they drop in price so fast that for someone like me who has so little time to play games and always so far behind, I never need to, aside from the rare must have game where I NEED it the day it comes out. So to rephrase: Looks like a game that I personally will wait to play when it's 10 or 20 bucks.

    Soooo.

Here I am back into BL2 at the moment. DLC (season pass) going on sale this weekend and I think I'll pick it up. This crow tastes delicious.

Despite Anthony Burch's recent Twitter stupidity, I'm playing the Pre-Sequel just because I got a free Steam code for it.
