Aaron Hernandez was a full inch taller than Gator Hoskins. He's not 6'1". And Aaron Hernadez was also a Florida Gator that played in the SEC on national championship teams.

Hernandez is 6 ft and 2 & 3/8 inches tall. So clearly not 6'1".

It's hard not to root for a guy named Gator ... in Miami. Let it happen!

I was using a player who doesn't have prototype size, who is much faster, and played against heavy comp yet still lasted til the fourth as reasoning behind a guy like gator went undrafted maybe.

I know. But you used a guy that is a full inch taller than Gator. Hence my statement still stands that the last time someone was even drafted at all with Gator's dimensions it was D.J. Williams in the 5th round, and he was a national award winning tight end that played in the SEC. Aaron Hernandez did indeed get drafted in the 4th round despite non-prototype size. Between the two of them I think you're seeing sort of a cap on a player like that's overall draft value and once you factor in that Gator Hoskins is actually shorter than either of those guys, AND played at Marshall, there was just no way he was going to be drafted regardless of how good he is on tape.

Yeah....man, gator with a 36 inch very is no joke, that's not chump change..nice long arms. He looks to be carrying a few extra lbs, not sure if it's necessary or is.

Considering how short he is I don't mind if he's 250+ as long as he's still got speed in the low 4.7 range which he does.

The 80 inch wingspan mitigates some of the height issues.

iirc Philbin wanted both Clay and Dustin Keller, who is 6'2'', on the field at the same time. Maybe this is where Gator will add value as a Keller clone, and with his vertical and wingspan I wouldn't be too concerned about him being an inch or two shorter than ideal.
