And who would you liked to have in there as the place holder?

  2. Execution falls on the coach too. His offense is unprepared

I want to say Gator was the second best college player the redzone last year with 15 touchdowns I think. (The TD number may not be right, but I'm pretty sure he had the 2nd most redzone TDs in the nCAA last year) There is a niche for him on this team, and I think he showed that tonight - especially with Dion "I only touch the football once a season" Sims and Arthur "I'm wearing a T-shirt to the game" Lynch.

There are some young hungry players waiting for there chance to break out on this roster, cuts are NOT going to be easy! Feeling good about our depth at so many positions.

Should be an exciting fourth game with so many on the bubble players.

Child please. To say that, he's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't. You'd be vilifying him, if the offense stalled when he was in the game, and you are downplaying his efforts because, though he did well on the two TD drives, his supporting cast was too good. He made clutch throws to Hoskins and Spadola, both buried on the depth chart, and several throws to the 4th string RB.

Yeah he not only has a chance of making the team, he's got a chance of making an impact. Especially in this offense.

If things don't work out, I'll be watching Cato very hard this season. If he takes a big step, he and Gator would make a great name combo. Cato to Gator, Rakeem to Hoskins.

Tannehill says he missed the mark on the throw to Wallace. Good on him either way , if he really did or shouldering the blame regardless.

The glaring thing I come away with from this game that has changed my mind from before to after is that I think Marcus Thigpen may be gone. Williams was outlasting a barrage of tackles, and Landry looked more than adequate.

This is a huge deal. There are only a half dozen return specialists left in the NFL, and we may be letting ours go. It seems with the new kickoff spot, decision making is more important than Shake-and-bake.

@OmarKelly: Ryan Tannehill said the miscommunication with Wallace on the deep ball was on him. He picked the wrong landmark. Wallace ran right route.

    Hmm...

    The Good
    - Billy Turner and Shelley Smith both made strong statements they should start. Hopefully coaches aren't stupid about this.
    - Knowshon Moreno heck of a debut. Looks a natural in this system. Maybe he's not awesome relative to rest of the league but he's the best we've got.
    - Gator Hoskins made a strong statement he needs to make the team, as did Orleans Dawkwa.
    - Matt Moore is a more than capable backup and looks a natural in this style of offense even if he can't run for sh-t.
    - Charles Clay looked like he's just picking up where he left off a year ago and that's good news.
    - Obviously the defensive line is still a strength. Odrick, Starks and Wake...stalwarts.
    - Branden Albert had the dress rehearsal game I was looking for him to have after some relaxed efforts in the first two games.
    - Jordan Tripp again flashed well, and Chris McCain had one of those "I did my job, did you do yours?" type games.

    The Bad
    - Ryan Tannehill didn't look good. That interception was just plain awful.
    - Thank god Knowshon Moreno showed up because Lamar Miller was flat as hell.
    - Still a chemistry issue between Wallace and Tannehill on deep passes.
    - Daryn Colledge and Samson Satele still aren't very good.
    - JaWuan James still struggling in run blocking.
    - I hope people don't think Egnew being cut is cool cuz Dion Sims is great. He's yet to show that.
    - Dallas Thomas is an apocalypse at the right guard position.
    - Jason Fox is really terrible at football, it turns out. Learn something new every day, I guess.
    - There may be some issues with the corners.
    - There are definitely issues with the safeties.
    - The guy who was going to replace the injured Caleb Sturgis also got injured.
    - The special teams looked pretty bad overall.
    - Mike Wallace still looks like a "give a penny, take a penny" guy and he's not going to give more than he takes til you can hit him deep.

By the way one play I'm referring to with Wallace in terms of the give and take is a catch he had on the left sidelines where he was wide open and could have run for significant YAC or maybe even a touchdown, but when he reset his feet to get ready for the RAC, he set one foot out of bounds.

Brandon Marshall gets criticized all the time for stuff like that while he was with the Dolphins, so what's good for the goose has to be good for the gander.

I like Matt Moore. I'm merely stating that I expect that from him against inferior competition. I think he could start in this league and with the right team MAYBE make the playoffs. But he's very hot/cold.

He was bracketed by three defenders. There is no way he picks up more than 3-5 yards even if he resets in bounds.

On that catch I believe he jumped to catch it with his body too... Hate that. It's frustrating watching him sometimes.

Just saw Tannehill has completed 70% of his passes this preseason. It doesn't give him an excuse for the random miscues but its still encouraging.

Wallace is horrible at adjusting to catch a ball...that catch by Landry tonight..Wallace would never have even come close to making that catch.

That's the play I made the comment that Wallace doesn't even know where the hell he is on the field in the game thread... of course the next play I had to say the same about Tannehill with the interception destined for Hartline.

One of the things I love about Tanny is his maturity; he always takes responsibility. He had every right to complain or criticize or whine last year and he never did.

Have to say I don't really think its fair to crap on Wallace after he actually had a pretty nice game. He could have gained YAC on that play but not a ton. There were two defenders in front of him and one to the side.

He worked well underneath and with a better throw has that long TD we were all waiting for. He had a nice night. Hartline did less with a bad drop but he gets nothing negative.
