    For me:

    - Kidney Stone
    - 2nd degree burns on my entire stomach
    - Compressed tailbone
    - Gout (which generally comes after kidney stones)
    - When my back goes out. (The muscles pull my spine crooked)

I warned you it would be hot

Worst pain for me was my appendix. Instead of hurting and nearly bursting, it instead tried to kill me slowly by leaking on and wrecking part of my intestine

    Most pain...

    - Tore my medial tricep that attaches to the elbow working out years ago. Aches still just thinking about it.
    - Pinched sciatic nerve
    - Needle to the nuts during vasectomy. Twice.

For me its definately my back. Scoliosis runs in my family. My sister and brother have had surgery to put rods in their spine, and my sister is going to need to get it done a second time because her spine has bent the titanium with its strong desire to curve. I'm much luckier, as mine just causes discomfort, mild pain and tightness for the most part. However, from time to time, I'll pull or tweek the muscle that runs along the right side of my spine from my shoulder to my belt, and the pain is intense. Plus, it makes moving very difficult and I look like Igor as I'm hunched over. The worst time I did it I was completely laid out in agony for three days, and even laying in bed only reduced the pain a little.

Do you get pulled forward or to the side? For me its like my legs are perfectly straight, but above my waist gets pulled to the right at a sharp angle. Standing and laying down become agonizing. I have to sit in a chair that puts my butt lower than everything else like an office chair or the car.

The only pain I've ever had that was grueling was a toothache that resulted in a root canal.

Other than that, I think it was when I was 13 and I masturbated 8 times in a row, eventually blowing out an air bubble. Now that was painful.

The worst instance I can think of was after the initial medication wore off in the hours immediately following ACL replacement and meniscus repair, (i suppose) luckily it was a gradual (albeit not very slow) ramp up as opposed to an abrupt instance like when throwing your back out (and I have had a back spasm before and it sucked something awful).

Been pretty lucky on the pain front.

Worst I've had was when I broke the radius and ulna in my left arm and the doc had to bend the break 90 degrees to reset it.

Bruised ribs twice. Bruised the joints around my sternum once. That made it hurt to breathe...

At least you got it fixed properly.

I broke my pinkie playing football (a pass got slightly deflected just before I was about to catch it, so damn near full speed it went dead on the tip of my pinkie). I thought I had just jammed it, so I stupidly just let it go despite it hurting like hell for days (even played the rest of the game). Eventually it stopped hurting and the swelling went down, and it was then that I realized it was actually disfigured (because it reset on its own). Luckily I didn't lose too much range of motion with that digit and it's mostly just a cosmetic problem.

-When I blew my knee out

-Collided with my fast center-fielder on a shallow pop fly as I was playing SS. I blacked out, front flipped, and broke my right fibula....

-Broke my ribs when I fell off of my roof onto a tree stump

-Dislocated my right shoulder on a sideline tackle, threw it back into place to try to keep playing, was excruciating, got a stern lashing from my medical trainer.........and he told me how dumb it was too.....

It forces my right shoulder up high, while I bend at the waist and twist so that the right side of my back is further back. I guess imagine a point about 1/3 down my back from my neck being tugged out and to the right by a rope. I think similar to yours.

My root canal was painful, but not the agony others have described. Maybe I had really good numbing by the dentist. I just remember how freaky it was to feel him working inside my tooth. Unique and bizarre. I only took one of the Vicotin he precribed for me because it made me feel really weird. Dealt with the pain after that.

It's not the root canal that sucks... It's the unending and all encompassing pain that comes before the root canal and immediate need to see a dentist.

For me, it was a long buildup. I got kicked off of my parents insurance when I turned 21 even though I was still in college, and then didn't have any for a few years. Eventually I did get insurance, but was poor and didn't want to pay the out of pocket costs since dental is more of a discount card program than real health insurance. Ended up not seeing the dentist between 1998-2006 or so when I got married and my wife made me go, lol. I was having horrible headaches all the time, which turned out to be caused my one of the many issues that the dentist fixed over four or five visits.

I'll rank mine in pain order.

    10. Large duodenal ulcer

    9. Apendicitis
    8. Stepped on a lightbulb [while running barefoot]. That sucked balls.
    7. Jumped off a fence and landed on a long roofing nail. Went into my heel bone and bent making it more difficult and painful to remove. Hopped home [was 17 at the time] and had my mother pull it out. It took pliers and her leaning backward and pulling as hard as she could, repeatedly, to remove out. Not fun. at all.
    6. Crushed hand at Gold's Gym while putting pressure on the weights of a Cybex Machine to remove the pin. Didn't know it was faulty and had 60 pounds of plates stuck at its apex [roughly 8 feet]. Applying pressure released the weights which crashed down onto my hand. The force busted the side of my index finger open horizontally along the joint exposing the bone.
    5. Badly pulled back. Throwing your back out is no joke.
    4. Instantaneously ripped off big toenail. Hopped off the same fence and landed on a storm drain while wearing sandals. The top of the sandal snagged a drain slit which pulled my toes downward upon impact. My big toe made it through the next slit between the metal bars. My toenail didn't.
    3. Severe Grade 3 high ankle sprain coming down with a rebound in basketball. If you don't know what a high ankle sprain entails, here's an exercise: grab your foot and try to fold it outward an inch or two. You can't, the foot isn't meant to go that way. Result is a high ankle sprain. Now try to fold it outward 90 degrees. LOL. That's a Grade 3 and six months of recovery. It left my entire foot and every square inch of my leg bruised up to my knee. Made peoples' stomach turn just looking at it.
    2. Shattered ankle on a piece of metal rebar while running into a neighbors yard to catch a football. They had a pathway under construction that had a piece of rebar jutting out horizontally. My ankle bone kicked it head on at full speed. Black Hawk down. Sounded like a firecracker going off.
