A couple of Patriot cuts to consider: Stephen Houston at rb, and Asa Watson at tight end. Watson started the game against Washington on Thursday. Houston fumbled and was benched for the rest of the game, but has good measures and speed.
My favorite tweets today: Adam Beasley @AdamHBeasley 22m Armon Binns just created five yards of separation on Will Davis after a nasty double move. TD. Omar Kelly @OmarKelly 21m Will Davis just got roasted by Armon Binns during 1-on-1 with a pretty leading deep ball from Tannehill. Omar Kelly @OmarKelly 22m Mike Pouncey is killing that ladder drill. I think he's in pads within the next 3-4 weeks. Just a guess. "Leading" deep ball for a TD is music to the ears. The fact that Davis got burned by a double-move is NOTHING new. That's his #1 weakness. And I seriously hope Omar is right about Pouncey, not counting on it, but hoping.
Tannehill was the one that threw that deep ball to Binns btw. It was a pretty pass... but Binns straight roasted Davis
One thing I have been curious about is how we got to reviewing practice, and I don't mean just us watching practice from the stands, but the media scrutinizing every play in practice. How did we get to a point where a guy like Omar writes about a guy's chances based on whether he caught a ball in practice etc. al. Practice is important, and I suppose it may be a predictor for game time opportunity, but haven't we gone just a tad overboard? I like getting the twitter reports, but maybe we are a little OCD about this.
It's the "now" instant-gratification generation. 'Tis the nature of the times. That's the problem though ya...easy to jump overboard one way or the other when there's no context to the information, just, "OMFG how did he miss that!!!" kinda stuff. It's practice and pre-season...we have no idea what the coaches are working on with these guys, or what they're looking for, we just like to see 80 yard touchdowns and sacks and stuff (even though they're against each other). I find myself having to make it a point to step back and not jump either way, with the flood of information and hyperbole in some of it.
Isn't it interesting that Omar has already gotten himself in hot water with misinformation today regarding Earl Mitchell. He tells the world Mitchell's penalty negated a fumble recovery when big Earl was not on the punt team. And it may turn out that the penalty was not a Dolphin penalty to begin with.
im hoping coaches will demand a town hall meeting on these enforcements, it's fu@&ing ridiculous, and bad for the game...if it pisses me off then I'm sure it pisses a lot more people off, and Goodell better get his sh&$ together or he's gonna get slapped upside the head by someone, especially considering he's already in the publics doghouse...( ray rice) Talkin about the illegal touching interference crap..
Twitter really. It used to be more of a blogging format. Also, were not getting regular reports from guys going to practice anymore so were having to rely on the media much more.
How can they unknowingly get a call wrong like that? One of crew threw a flag, he knew who he threw it on. When he sees the penalty being marked off against the other team, he just stands there oblivious to the mistake being made?
I think someone tweeted that he and Lamar Miller, along with the signed-today Cameron Marshall, are the only RBs that are participating. Kudos to Williams for being back so soon.
Yes. But with us trying out QBs, some are saying we may go with 2 qbs, and Devlin will be on the outs. Just rumor at this point from some of South Floridas finest.....
If Hills could ever stay healthy he could probably start for some teams in the NFL, but I doubt if he makes it through camp. Glad we didn't draft him, I definitely wanted to. He has never come close to having one good year.
That was always a strong possibility regardless, IMO. Dennis Hickey never attached his name to Pat Devlin.
Kyler Fackrell starting to appear in front of me in a Dolphins uniform. The legacy of Jeff Ireland continues to wax cold and hideous.
Mike Thomas was getting a lot of run at nickel today.. I saw that Moore and Devlin were getting reps, I don't get the exp Qb audition..their not gonna supersede Moore, and their not gonna be third string guys, so what's the point.
