If you think they are worse, why do you think they should be held to the same standards? The Heat were held to those standards because they had the talent to win it every year.
Phin, you're a great guy and I'm happy you are getting a great team, but the Cavs don't get off the hook that easy. You ought to win the title every year. That should be the standard. And if they don't, I hope the Cavs get ripped as much as the Heat did. You want the fun, take the heat too (pun not intended)
I enjoy that this argument seems to be you thinking my team is better than I do right now haha. Opposite of most sports arguments. I don't think the Cavs' big 3 is even better than OKC's big 3 right now.
Kyrie isnt what Wade was...but Love is better than Bosh all day everyday. Oh yea, and he is 25!!! The key will be how the role players fair...lets face it, Ray Allen misses that 3 and the Heat only get one title out of that team. Same situation will likely be there for Cleveland. It truly needs to be a team effort to win it all.
Bosh and Love are equal if you value defense at all. And Bosh was 25 at time Big 3 got together too. LJ is the like the mid life crisis guy who gets divorced and hooks up with a college girl.
You said the Cavs would have the 3 best players against every team. I just gave you one team where I disagree. LeBron is the best, then I would take Durant and Westbrook before Love and Kyrie. I think almost everybody would.
No. The Miami Big 3 had Three HOFers, with Lebron in his prime. The Cavs will have Lebron in his prime for 1 more year and then he GETS the decline. Kyrie is nowhere near as good as Wade was or Is at this moment. Love has a similar arch to Bosh.
As for what happened to Lebby... 2 + 2 = 4 THINK about how THIS happens. Certain people have a lot of power.
I think Le Batard will resign from ESPN over the weekend, the Lebby that I know wouldn't stand to get suspended for something so stupid.
Doesn't make it any less ridiculous. I am growing to dislike the "King" more and more. He can forgive what the Cleveland fans did, which ESPN was happy to show on a continuous loop by the way, but his fee fees are hurt over this? Come on. Maybe I'm being too harsh and he has nothing to do with this and this is just ESPN being overly cautious, but you know that Maverick Carter and the other jerk offs put the pressure on.
Nah. He's getting paid too much and he's not afraid to needle them on the air. All he needs to do is take a page from the old Howard Stern book. Make your boss your enemy. People love that. Every single person listening can relate.
You think LeBron's play will start declining after one more season? You're too intelligent of a guy from a basketball standpoint. .. I believe this is nothing but a statement made out of anger...
It's a statement made out of the minutes arch that applies to every human that has ever played professional basketball. Playing in 4 straight finals added another season to his career, and he came into the league at a young age. YES. he has 1 year LEFT in his prime arch. One season at around 2,500+ minutes. and yes..I am very intelligent. You got that one part right.
Just pointing out that he will start to decline is not the same as saying he won't still be great. He obviously will. But each year that goes by, he will need more and more help. You said that this crew should win more than 2 titles. If so, they better start now.
I actually did. Many times and said he needed to transition to PF so he could play into his late 30's.
Is it that easy? He's under contract. He can't just quit and work somewhere else. I assume he'd have to sit out the duration of his contract or negotiate. Now if he was fired.... I think he comes back and continues to do his thing.
Well then I expect him to keep getting suspended then. He's built a career around hilarious troll-jobs.
http://thebiglead.com/2014/08/07/gr...spected-battery-mugshot-has-ohio-state-shirt/ Oden's mugshot: LOL @ that shirt.
I feel like Le Batard is the person who got trolled here. By Lebron. And he's trying to get even. Just my two cents, as someone who does like Le Batard.
I'm not sure Le Batard is as upset about this suspension as some people want him to be. Just a hunch.
Not really. I believe the argument is based on total career minutes played. Lebron has played 33,276 minutes in his career while Wade has played 26,331 minutes in his career. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/wadedw01.html Now obviously Wade played in college while Lebron didn't. At Marquette, Wade played another 1,993 minutes. So including both college and pro Wade has played 28,324 minutes. Or 4,952 minutes less than Lebron. That's about 2 extra seasons of wear and tear for a typical player. Lebron is reaching that point where many players start to decline. Obviously Lebron could end up playing much longer than the average. But as a reference point, guys like Barkley and Drexler all retired around 40,000 minutes. And those guys were in the top 50 in terms of career NBA minutes played. My memory of those guys is that they hung around a bit after they had declined. If Lebron continues his current pace of a little over 3,000/per he'll reach that level in about two seasons. I don't expect him to retire then but it wouldn't be a surprise for him to be declining a bit by then. Here's a list of the top 100 in terms of NBA minutes played. NBA Rank Player MP 1. Realistically, how many of those remaining seasons will be "prime" years?
Wade sat out games. Wade also missed 1 season, and then went out in the 1st round twice. he saved the mileage. Wade is already on the downside. he doesn't apply to this anyway. Lebron's arch is now on the decline. It doesn't mean he is done. It just means that the end of his peak effectiveness is close. he can still be the best player in the NBA for at least another 2 years...and top 2 or 3 for the next 3 years. But we all get old, and if he insists on being a perimeter player, he is only accelerating it.
I think it's dumb to suspend Le Batard, but I also get why LeBron would be pissed. These weren't put up in Cleveland - it was specifically done in Akron. You aren't trolling a bunch of stupid fans - it's LeBron and his family. It was meant to be personal and was probably taken as such. Still dumb for espn to bow to his wishes.
Anyone wants too wager a year in club that Lebron in 2016 will be at or above his career averages in nearly every statistical category just lemme know.
