If by "not getting it" you mean that I disagree, then yeah I guess so. You've been wrong before and actually could be again, I know thats a shocking revelation. No need to be calling anyone dumb though, thats a bit over the top. But you're bitter and angry so I vent if you feel the need to.
I do think that Irving, Lebron and Love could stay in Cleveland or that Lebron, Irving and Wiggins could stay there for 3-5 years, I don't think thats far fetched or over my head.
Absolutely, Lebron could give the Duncan discount. Not to mention who knows what new perimeters will be added to the salary cap once the new deal is up. Cavs have a bright future and a bright NOW, regardless of who wants to accept that and who doesn't.
I dont know how many times i am gonna have to tell you that i am not bitter or angry. It almost seems like you want me to be and are dissapointed that i am not. Read Fin-O's response. That is how you do it.
People want to play with LeBron so there's a chance, but I would say those chances are not great. Most players will not want to take less to play with LeBron. You have to have a certain mindset and probably be an older player past his prime. Those were the only types the Heat got to take less. We saw that this year when guys like Lowry were approached to take less and really didn't even give it much thought. On top of that, the Heat had the draw of playing in Miami, and playing for one of the best organizations in pro sports. You can argue that, or call me a homer, but that is a fact. Countless players have commented on what a first class organization the Heat are. LeBron had all of that going in his favor in Miami, and won't in Cleveland. That's why, while I won't say it'll be impossible for any good players to take less to go there, I would say it's not very likely.
Now that LeBron and his boys are de facto in control of the Cavs organization, it'll be interesting to see how its reputation changes, if at all.
Yes you can trade the player, but the salary he outlined would not match and therefore the trade couldn't work because we'd only be contributing $9M in salary. That's why it can't be done for 30 days as he laid it out.
Cleveland didn't have a setup where they could have signed multiple max players, you basically need a blank slate for that. Miami's situation 4 years ago was something new and unique at the time. You have to have one or two max players that you have Bird rights to and some players willing to take a little less than the max. Before Miami no one had ever done it maybe it will happen again but the chances are that the Big Three was a once in a decade(s) event.
I simply gave up on him. My arguments are "stupid" and "ridiculous." Yours are "silly." He doesn't know how to discuss anything in a civil manner. I think it all may possibly be above his level of comprehension.
@AlbertRandom1 4h Nope. Among the various reasons, Chalmers can’t be traded until 12/15/14. RT @StevenNeely1 Any room to unload Cole & Chalmers for Bledsoe? @AlbertRandom1 4h League rules will make it highly unlikely Heat will be able to spend enough to be a taxpayer this year @cashira0425 @Myblueblueroses @AlbertRandom1 4h Heat can put in waiver claim, but others likely will too. RT @uno_uno @mada949 @weezermike Can the Heat put in a bid for Kendall Marshall? @AlbertRandom1 4h Yes! RT @BoshRoarFace can the @MiamiHEAT sign Tyler Johnson? @AlbertRandom1 4h Even if you trade Cole. Can trade him for someone above min though. RT @Gas399 @TheMiamiPacker i may be wrong but Not if u trade Cole 2M$ @AlbertRandom1 4h Even if you trade Cole. Can trade him for someone above min though. RT @Gas399 @TheMiamiPacker i may be wrong but Not if u trade Cole 2M$ @AlbertRandom1 4h Yes, but won’t create room above min RT @Gas399 @TheMiamiPacker Can't u trade Cole for 2nd rnd pick? In this case u don't take back player? @AlbertRandom1 3h Could sign both and/or others for extended training camp tryout RT @nxtlvlblu if Heat could sign Honeycutt or Johnson, who would you prefer? You know...I get that the cap is complicated and all, but some of these guys are just straight-up morons. Once you've reached the point where they tell you that the team can sign only its Bird-rights players and anyone else at the minimum to bring the Summer roster to 20—that's pretty ****ing clear, right?
Would Kendall Marshall be an upgrade over Cole? No chance a team in the finals gets awarded Marshall on waivers, anyway.
Some fan ran into Ray Allen in Beijing and asked if he's going to retire or go to Cleveland. Ray balked at the idea that LeBron James is his only choice. That could mean he's pondering a return to Miami.
Okay...you have to know without proof this is a grain of salt type thing If true though awesome. You'd have to think that aside from his inner posse like James Jones most guys probably feel some resentment towards James for breaking up their chance to be part of a dynasty. Its human nature.
It occurs to me that the title of this thread should change to the official '14-'15 Heat thread; start another one for general NBA. It'd be easier than shifting the Heat convo to another thread and losing all this history.
Clearly, I'm thinking more of them than us. They should have a sacred place to discuss their insignificant little teams.
wtf I haven't said a single bad thing about the heat, you don't need to be condescending to anyone who isn't a heat fan.
As opposed to this civil post. lol. I mean Ive taken much more than I've given in this thread thats for sure.
Agreed, but you're definitely in the minority. Most every other non-Heat fans acts like any Heat fan who doesn't see their team as doomed and the Cavs as far superior is either in denial or stupid.
Or like most Heat fans anyone who thinks the Heat won't be a contender without LJ, and Cleveland with LJ will be....must be stupid.
Find a post in this thread where I called anybody stupid. The most I ever said was that I disagreed. It was you who claimed that anybody who disagreed with you had an agenda or didn't follow basketball. You were even called out by one of the nicest posters here for sounding like a D-bag.
Would that "nice poster" happen to be a Heat fan?? And all I said was I found it hard to believe that with the evidence of past Cav teams that people really didn't believe Cleveland could contend. I still feel that way. Use the ignore button if I bother you, when it's May 15 and I'm right you certainly will.
Difference is I recognize where the Knicks stand, maybe they sneak into an 8 seed if Timmy Jr keeps developing.
Just answering the bolded part for the sake of posting my reasoning. I don't think Lebron James has enough round him. Irving's good, if not overrated, but everyone else? No. And while I like Mike Miller and James Jones, they're your best bench players at the moment, which is not a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I expect them to improve. But I don't see how they'll be better than The Heat, Bulls, or Pacers.
We'll see about that. But as it is, I expect them to hit the 4th seed at the highest. And unless Lebron James shows that he has enough influence, I don't see how he could get another big-time player (like, say, Kevin Love or Kevin Durant) in 2016 to play with him in Cleveland because.... well, it's Cleveland.
I can see it clearly; Kevin Love on the phone with LeBron, "Yeah, absolutely! Let's see if we can make it happen..." while furiously making the throat-slash gesture to his agent and the rest of his management team.
Love has already expressed he would resign in Cleveland if James is there. And again, he led the Cavs to 66 wins with no real sidekick. He at the very least already has one of the best young PG's in basketball with him. Not to mention, trying to align a mini dream team takes away from the glory of a title. I know most of you for obvious reasons will disagree...but it's atleast how I look at it.
Or they keep Wiggins and draft 3 young players to fill roles with their 3 first round picks. Cleveland actually doesn't need to attract a Durant to win, everyone else does though because they need a counter to Lebron. People seem to forget that Lebron was actually a pretty good player before he was being carried by Bosh and Wade.....
