If you are keeping score..the Cavs have contacted: Chalmers Miller-signed Jones-signed Birdman Allen Oden
Turns out that Riley got a commitment from Luol Deng to play with the BIG 3. Would have been best Heat team yet. After Lebron signed with Cavs, Deng re-negotiated his deal. His commitment was gonna be at the expense of Bosh and Wade's salaries. After we lost Lebron, there was no sense in operating as a capped team and the Heat then maxed out Bosh.
Unbelievable. Wade/Bosh were willing to sacrifice to get You Know Who the max and Deng????? And then one guy decided the party was over. Walked away from maybe 6 or 7 finals in a row, unprecedented in the modern NBA. And we're not supposed to be a little salty?
One question Sec, which you may not know the answer to. Did You Know Who know that Deng was on board in the Vegas meeting?
Not sure if they presented it to Lebron at the meeting, But Deng had given a commitment to the Heat and the Heat had a framework to give Lebron the MAX and Bosh/Wade a salary they had agreed to.
Just bc you say it, it does not make it true. You know, statements have to be consistent with evidence.
Have to believe they would've presented it if they had it. Not sure it would've made any difference. Also, some funny stuff. You Know Who didn't see the need to call Spo on the way out and hasn't yet found the time or the need to call David Blatt on the way in. According to Ethan strauss who interviewed Blatt at summer league he hasn't spoken to LJ but doesn;t need to since "they will talk a lot in the future"
It's good to see 2 Wolverines leading summer league in scoring. (Rice Jr. and Hardaway Jr.) Stauskas needs to step it up. Also, Isaiah Canaan made Wiggins look so bad yesterday, lol:
People can be salty if they choose. It's up to them. Hearing that they would've gotten Deng anyway makes me sad, but it doesn't change my opinion regarding LeBron's going back to Cleveland. He was a free agent and he made the choice he felt was best for him and his family.
I'm not suggesting LeBron didn't have the right to make whatever decision he wanted. If going to Cleveland was that important to him, then fine. But it is fair to question, and be upset if it's your team, walking away from a potentially historical basketball achievement, that even Michael Jordan didn't accomplish. Particularly from a guy who less than 4 months before Ohio became the most important thing in the world to him stated that he wanted to be on basketball Mt. Rushmore and that he knew he needed more titles to do it.
There is nothing to suggest that Bosh was willing to play for less than max. Nor that Deng was looking to play with the Heat as a second fiddle, especially since Heat first secured commitments from Granger and McBob. These reports that you are peddling after the fact are outrageous, pure BS and inconsistent with facts as they were at the time.
Bosh asked for 90 for 5 originally, and of course, there is the matter of him saying he wanted to stay even if it meant taking a paycut (how is that for evidence?). They agreed to contract parameters with McBob and Granger first, and both of them were for the MLE and MMLE, Deng committed based on a proposal that never came to fruition. I think you are missing the part where Luol Deng is confirming this today to local media.
and I am not peddling anything. I am telling you what media people are saying today and what Luol Deng is confirming. I would rather that you just say Thank You, instead of your usual ******* act and BS attacks.
No but its a huge dick decision to say "I'm doing what I think is best for you, your opinion doesn't matter". Don't get when anyone is defending Lebron with all the facts out. He is great with PR schemes but behind the scenes he and his cronies are scum.
I agree and glad someone noticed. I also like the Joey Dorsey signing. He just came off a Euroleague championship and he looks like a nice defensive pickup. We haven't been able to sign our 2 Euroleague stars though. I am disappointed in that, honestly. Those boys can shoot.
I wanted to bring this guy, Alessandro Gentile, over this year so badly. This kid has got serious game. They call him Little Melo in Italy, lol.
Kendall Marshall G waived by Lakers, makes $2 mil. Don't know if he will clear. Lakers move to keep Xavier Henry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2Sm6qQl_MY
They have texted a lot though according to Blatt. And at this point, they don't really need to talk on the phone either. Not like anything said on the phone right now couldn't be said via text or wait until camp (or whatever the first team function is in basketball).
I have no idea why you would agree with a statement that was meant as a joke. Unless you don't want any news shared in here, or for me to share any info I may be privy too. I think your problem is with Luol Deng saying what he said.
Heat make the UD signing official. So, now it's just bosh left. then hopefully Oden and a backup 2 at the minimum and we see what happens
"Tampering is when a player or team directly or indirectly entices, induces or persuades anybody (player, general manager, etc.) who is under contract with another team in order to negotiate for their services. "
@AlbertRandom1 4h Dwyane Wade’s continued sacrifices for the betterment of his team deserve special recognition… @AlbertRandom1 4h We were all prepared to give Wade a full 6-yr max contract when he helped create the Big 3 era in the summer of 2010. @AlbertRandom1 4h Wade instead took what at the time figured to be an $18M discount to help make room for teammates Miller and Haslem. @AlbertRandom1 4h Wade’s discounted contract had 2-yrs, $42M remaining on it when he opted out this summer, to allow the Heat to retool. @AlbertRandom1 4h Wade opted out despite knowing that injuries have robbed him of his ability to recoup that money. http://bit.ly/UeMklQ @AlbertRandom1 4h Many of us figured that when Wade opted out, he would require longer-term contract in return for lower annual salary. http://bit.ly/1iGyiPP @AlbertRandom1 4h Wade instead shocked us all, agreeing to new contract w/ both lower annual salary and just 2-yr term, essentially compounding his sacrifice. @AlbertRandom1 4h Wade’s generosity has resulted in what'll be a 6-yr total sacrifice of $29M, relative to what we were all more than happy to give 4 yrs ago. @AlbertRandom1 4h Wade may no longer be the athletic freak he once was, but he did just complete one of best SG shooting seasons ever http://bit.ly/1eLvbdj
