I never had cause to think that anyone had grown up any differently than I did, but I'm also not surprised to learn that my entire childhood, and even through this day, I've NEVER considered telling my parents the truth when I could lie to them instead. We don't learn these things in a vacuum; my parents took every opportunity to lie to me or feed me "their version" of the truth my whole life. It was ****ing pathological, I mean they'd lie about the most insignificant things, about things that would never even matter—except for the fact that they lied to me about them. No great surprise, then, that when it came time to choose a mate at the young age of 17, I chose———a pathological, inveterate liar. A woman so incapable of telling a single truth in her life that it was routine for me to believe the opposite of whatever she told me about anything, small or large. If a young adult is lying, being purposefully deceitful, believe me—it's learned behavior. They got it from somebody. My relationship with my parents is the impetus for my living my life as much in the open as I can make it, and if someone doesn't like who I am they can go **** themselves. I lie to NO ONE.
