I've thought all along the only place he'd leave NY for was Miami which is why I always figured he'd be a Knick again next year.
Get rid of some doubt-inducing obstacles; namely, Wade and Chalmers, and I believe you'd have a sudden deluge of top names vying to join the Heat for the minimum. Guys like Gasol and Deng, who have made their bucks and are now looking for (more) jewelry and hardware, would likely be mentioned. Guys like Boozer, Caron Butler, Anthony Morrow, and Vince Carter would be givens. Add an experienced PG or two, one at the minimum (Nelson) and jettison Cole's contract, and yes—you might have someone like 'Melo knocking at the door, wanting in at a discount, and the remaining big two working to accommodate him.
No way would Wade create doubt like your saying...now two years back from surgery. He may not be able to go balls to the walls ..but hes still a player anyone would want to play with.
It just makes sense. Phoenix and a bunch of unknown quantities? By the time I get to Phoenix, I'll be...melting. Pass. Houston? Have you been to Houston in the Summer? It's as hot and humid as Miami, with none of the charms. And it smells vaguely of rotting fish six months out of the year. Dwight Howard is the only bona fide superstar stupid enough to have consciously chosen Houston as his team and home. Chicago? Please. Cleveland? See the comments about Houston, reverse them to Winter add ugly people with bad attitudes, and you have Cleveland. That, and a team that has had 10 lottery picks in the last decade and a half or so. Carmelo has made his bucks. He wants hardware now. The place where the hardware flows through the last four years is American Airlines Arena. End of story.
And I'm saying that there's a solid reason, albeit unspoken, why major names have been unwilling to come to Miami as in the past. What do you think that might be? Maybe I'm wrong, and it's only the specter of playing alongside the bipolar Mario Chalmers that's keeping them away. You think that might be it, sans any concern about Wade's health and possibly diminishing contribution to hold up "his end?" I believe it's both. Nobody wants even the possibility of having Rio as their PG; but I also believe that there is unspoken (in public) doubt about Dwyane Wade.
Per Victor Oquendo (WPLG 10 in Miami) who has been sent to Vegas for LeBron watch and Heat Vegas summer league in a few days just tweeted that Dwyane Wade has entered LeBron's basketball camp. The two exes just can't stay away from each other I guess....
Heres another thing...Stephen A says Lebron has issues with Rileys press conference.. This from the person whos remembered from one of the most hated press conferences of all time?
Let's play a balancing game. Which tips the scale farther. On the left we have Riley making generalized comments about why the team shouldn't be broken up. On the right we have Gilbert calling Lebron every damn name in the book.
And Legacy. Lets talk Legacy. Cleveland doesnt have any. If Lebron goes back tonCleveland...and it blows up...people are gonna go..everything that team did points to mediocrity..and the owner crapped all over you..and you STILL chose Cleveland. Thats gonna do wonders for Lebrons legacy.
I know; but he's out there, and no other team has even approached him (that we know of), and—inexplicably—he's liked by Spriley and even Sec for past work, despite completely falling apart this season. Again, I'm not the only one who sees and knows that. Players know it, and from a more intimate perspective. I believe that until we definitively move on from Rio, he's a roadblock. I knew Bron was going to have a reaction to the whole "You're a coward if you move on" thing. Is that the one causing the controversy?
Ennis with 17 points in 23 minutes today. Shabazz with another terrible shooting night but I'm not writing him off. Shooting is his strength so you gave to thonk he's just in a funk.
Right..why would "Im taking my talents to South Beach" have any room to talk about .."If you have the guts you have to come back"
They just got their asses handed to them. I think Rileys point is..you dont leave...hell..half of San Antonios team could have retired..but they came back to beat the Heat. Thats Rileys point..you dont leave now...leave on top.
Lebron will announce his decision during halftime of the World Cup final. He will be immediately followed by ARod announcing he will play first base. Then they will each make passionate love to their individual mirrors with their entourages cheering them on.
Gimme a break. I'm nobody, just a fan. But I have enough life and business experience to know human nature. Sources. Why don't you name some sources that say no one whatsoever has a problem playing with Rio? Or isn't the evidence that the starting PG on four consecutive finals teams has garnered zero interest enough?
@EthanJSkolnick 8m Since LeBron's not flying back to Akron tonight, the best hope for the loiterers outside his house is that Manziel shows up
In 2010..everybody came? Big Z, who retired at seasons end because he was done came, and Eddie House who left the LEAGUE. James Jones and Haslem were already here. Mike Miller signed at a PREMIUM. You don;t know what you are talking about.
On second thought, ARod is worse (drugs) but they have similar egos at the very minimum, they are in the same category (ARod screws more female bodybuilder types, so he has that going for him)
@EthanJSkolnick 13m Some have asked about Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger. No official release/press conference on either today. For obvious reasons. @EthanJSkolnick 10m On last tweet, didn't mean to imply anyone is backing out. Just other financial and personnel matters (guy named LeBron) to settle first.
You have the respect of everyone, yet you feel the need to be such a **** when all you have to do is discuss the topic. That's on YOU, not me. You're the guru. Raise your game, at least in terms of civility. Try it.
Eveyrthing I said is 100% true. YOU were the one that said everybody was knocking down the doors in 2010. We approached Ray Allen..he told us that what we had left in money was not enough..re-upped with Boston. We approached Derrek Fisher...he negotiated and said....NO. We missed with our top two bench guys in 2010. Why? No money left. Miller took a FULL MLE. Haslem got an average of 5mil a year.
Nabo..I like you. You know this. On this...you are out to lunch. no number of rehashes of the same BS about Wade is gonna change the FACTS. Notice that you rip RIO..and all I said is why he is good value at his current or reduced contract. He fits a function. Rio sucks? fine..we can agree to disagree. On Wade...what you are saying about him is just nonsense.
**** you and your coded "patience" before you go sip your pina colada while we drool at the screen lol
What you are doing is the equivalent of my wife kissing me with tongue while Im making dinner, winking, and then telling me...... Later in the week when the kids arent around.
I don't mean to be a dick, but you have said some ridiculous stuff that some die hards might not appreciate.
Eh it's okay. He can have his opinion, he's still part of the Heat family just best to agree to disagree and not argue among ourselves.
